This company was hired because when our new home was built the dozens of doors were badly installed- some sections rotted. Their man re-fitted and- replaced rotted sections some the AC. We have had perfect operation since. Very accomplished carpenters and installers- also honest & reliable.

Worked with us to design and was both open to our ideas and good at making recommendations. Workmanship is excellent.

We met with Frank and designed the closet layout as well as picked our material colors from the samples he provided. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and gave us some great insight into what would work and what wouldn't work in our space. On the day of the installation Frank did a fantastic job without any issues. His attention to detail is unheard of these days and we really appreciated it. We love our new closet and it is better than we had imagined.

Fantastic job by professional, skilled, customer-service oriented family business. I am very happy w/ their work and the end result. They showed up as scheduled, worked clean and steadily, and kept me updated/included in the on-going project/process. I will definitely use Son of a Carpenter for jobs I have coming up in the future and highly recommend them - their skills and work ethic are hard to find these days. I haven't taken photos of the whole kitchen yet - will try to add later if this site allows me - but one photo of the island treatment is included with a narrow view of a few of the cabinets in the background. Built (custom) & installed a T V . Stand/cabinet. Frank came out measured & provided helpful hints on construction sizing etc. Frank was recommend BTA. Frian and I also recommend him. Living room outlet construction at a fair price.

John fit me in to his busy schedule, showed up at the appointed time did an excellent job for a reasonable price & cleaned up the work site.

I needed two bookcases built on either side of the doorway from the office into the dining room. The bookcases needed to be custom built because the walls are two different widths, the doorway is not square and one of the walls bows out, plus the floor is not level. The bookcases needed to fit flush to the outside walls. I found Son of a Carpenter through Angie's List and chose them because of their high rating. Frank came out and we spent an hour discussing what I wanted, what materials would work best and what would have to be done to complete the job. He then took very precise measurements to adjust for all the flaws in the walls that needed to be compensated for. I also visited their workshop to look at materials. At the time I signed for the order I knew that they had two big jobs to complete before mine, yet they stayed in constant constant contact and let me know when they started work on building them. They arrived promptly on the installation date. John took the lead on the installation and was very professional. You can't even see where they had to make adjustments for the flaws in the wall. I am beyond happy with the results and definitely feel I got my money's worth. I have already recommended them to others and will call them for any future special jobs I may have.

Frank and John were and are the most professional craftsmen I have encountered. Great eye for detail.. first rate job. Also cleaned up daily as they went along. I would recommend them to everyone.

They're not overpriced, they come out to do the work quickly. The work they do is very good. I have used them multiple times over the past year. They are very reliable, too! If there is anything they don't do, they will tell you upfront, but refer you to someone who does!

INCREDIBLE!!!! YOU MUST READ THIS REVIEW?? I have been in my home for 12 years. My kitchen was looking a bit shabby so I finally made the decision to have my kitchen cabinets resurfaced. I selected SON OF A CARPENTER from Angie?s List. I called in July in anticipation of a lengthy scheduled absence beginning in August. Frank came to my home to discuss options with me. It was unbelievable the patience and amount of information he provided during this initial meeting, which I believe was the most critical of this entire project. He offered me options ? with samples ? for the new cabinet doors, an impressive selection of new hardware as well as more upscale touches for my consideration. I also wanted to graduate from the wire rack in my laundry room to cabinets for more space. Frank spent hours measuring and re-measuring to make sure everything was A-100% accurate. The time he spent with me also enabled me to make clear decisions as well as change my mind, a bit, as women are sometimes prone to do. By the date of my scheduled departure, Frank had all of the information he needed, I agreed to the estimate and Frank started to order my new cabinets and hardware. We set the date for the installation to begin immediately after my return. While I was away, Frank kept me totally up-to-date on the status of the order and believe it or not we actually needed the 4 months to receive all of the materials Frank scheduled the installation 3 days following my return. He arrived that morning exactly when he said he would and worked a full 8 hours that first day along with his uncle. The second day was a 4 hour day because the project was complete. I have a beautiful new kitchen thanks to the cabinet resurfacing project ? and let us not forget a new laundry room- thanks to Frank and SON OF A CARPENTER. Frank Malinoski of Son of a Carpenter does very precise work and handles all aspects of the design, ordering, fabricating and installation of cabinet refacing. He was professional and punctual throughout the process and continually kept me updated along the way. I am very pleased with the results and I know I will enjoy my kitchen for many years to come! I have already recommended this company to others and will continue to do so.

Frank arrived on time every day and was very pleasant to work with. My kitchen turned out fabulous - the cabinet work he did was awesome!!

Lee and Frank did a fantastic job remodeling our kitchen and our master bathroom vanity! They are terrific at detailing. They are perfectionists. I could not have asked for more conscientious , courteous or experienced craftsman to do our remodeling. On the first day, which began at around 7:30 am, the kitchen floor was covered with plastic tarp and taped down. Then, the kitchen cabinets were carefully removed. (We had asked that they hang 3 of our old cabinets in the laundry room. When hung, the cabinets looks as good as if they were going to be used in a kitchen. They even re hung the crown molding!) Then the old backsplash tiles were removed. Next day they started to unbox and prepare the new cabinets for installation. The box in for the refrigerator and a few of the higher cabinets were installed. In between this work, the plumber and the electrician came to do their jobs as well. But, they continued to work around them. They took a very brief lunch break and went right back to their work. On the third day, all of the cabinets were hung and drawers were installed. As they installed the cabinets they added the hardware. Minor details were attended to. By the way, after each day they vacuumed and swept up, even the garage floor. The only thing left is for the installation of the granite, cook top, double ovens and the dishwasher. Again, we are so very pleased with their work ethic and craftsmanship. They always asked us what we wanted to do if there were any questionable concerns eg. where we wanted the hardware placed on drawers and doors. These men are true carpenters. I HIGHLY recommend them.
