My garage door opener quit without any warning. I consulted Angie's list for service. Discount Garage was at the top of the list so I called them. An appointment was made. The tech showed up at the scheduled time. I already had the cover off of the control unit. He looked at the lights on the door sensors and said that they didn't carry parts for my controller and I needed a NEW controller. Cost - $550.00 with a remote wall panel. He preformed NO tests! Checked nothing! Just said I need this new whiz bang unit and left. He did say no charge for an estimate - Thanks. I found my manual for the unit and in 5 minutes fix the unit. The lockout switch on the wall unit was in the lock position. Bottom line - call someone else!

The gentleman who did the work was courteous, did his job well and gave me further information on the strength of the door [pertaining to hurricane readiness].

The technician replaced our keypad and we purchased 2 car transmitters.? He was very pleasant and professional and made sure we knew how to operate the devises before he left.

Replaced garage door and door opener. Is working well and much quieter than original with house.

My Garage door would not open.? I thought it was just the batteries so we changed them and that didn't work.? So we called DGD and they came out and realized that the power box needed to be reset.? We think that when we lost power a couple of days before may have tripped something.? So he went up there and adjusted it and so far it has worked fine.? Great guys and service.

Asked for estimate of repairs needed. Was told that I needed door, opener and spring replaced at cost of approximately $1,000.00. I called another garage door service in the area, who replaced the electric eye for $35.00. Three months later , the door continues to function as it should.

We are very happy with them.?They showed up on time, did the job quickly, and their price was reasonable. I had one minor problem, and they came back out and took care of it without any problems. I would definitely recommend them.

Salesman was courteous and explained everything and answered questions. We did not decide what type of opener we wanted when we ordered the door. He said we could let him know when the door came in. Door came and was installed in the time frame promised (about 4 weeks). The installer was prompt and seemed competent. He cleaned up and hauled away the old door and opener. About two days later, he and another man showed up at our house and said they had the wind load post for the door. We were not told that they had forgotten it the day the door was installed so that was a surprise. A few days later we started noticing things that were not right. The door was binding up in several places, the battery for the battery backup system was missing, electric cord and wires were not secured properly, etc. We called and were told that the supervisor would come out to look at it but that it would be a while as he was out of town. He came out the next week. He was attentive to our concerns and said that he would make sure everything was corrected. He came out himself the next day and fixed everything to our complete satisfaction. He also upgraded our warranty at no extra charge and put in heavier springs at no charge. Even though we had some problems with the original installation, we are giving Discount Garage Door a good rating because everything was fixed and works properly now. We feel this company stands behind their work. They sell quality products and the final installation is of top quality.

Overall we were pleased with this company and the installation they performed. We were a little unsure at first because when we called for an estimate we were not give a specific time but were told that when someone was in the area they would give us a call. Two days later we did receive a call and were able to meet up with the representative. We wanted to see the actual doors before we committed to the work and went to their office on Flight Path Drive. We found that they are not set up as a showroom. The staff tried to show us what the product looked like, but everything was boxed up and we were not really able to see the actual products and get specific information on the door/ opener. Once we decided to go with DGD, the office staff was extremely accommodating in working with our schedule. Allen showed up within the allotted time frame and worked diligently until the job was done (about 5 1/2 hours). After completion, Allen explained how the door/opener worked and told us how to do yearly maintenance on the door. After Allen left, we noticed a a glitch in the installation; the lazer sensors were not aligned correctly. We were able to fix this ourselves. The office staff, again, was very efficient and helpful in setting up the county inspection. The inspector said that the installation was well done.

Technician was prompt and seemed knowledgeable. Above work was performed and noise that I had complained about was lessened. About 3 weeks later noise was back up to the level that had concerned me. A few months later one of my remote controls for the door opener failed. I called this company to purchase a new one. They refused to sell one. They stated that a technician would respond to my home with a new one and "install" it. The cost would be about $90.00. This is the same as if your television remote control failed and the store where you bought the TV forced you to have a repairman deliver it to your house, program it and charge you $100.00. I purchased the part on the internet for less than $25.00 and "installed" it by pushing 2 buttons.

I haven?t used them for years now because I haven?t had any problem.? I would use them again in the future.

THIS IS A TERRIFIC MAN. HE CAME OUT ON A SUNDAY. I HEARD THIS BIG NOISE WHEN THE GARAGE OPENED. I SAID TO MY TWO POODLES - WOW! IT WAS JUST SECONDS FROM DISASTER. HE IS WONDERFUL AND EVEN OFFERED TO HELP ME MOVE SOME THINGS FOR FREE.
