 + -1 moreThey also installed tile and a new bathroom closet. It was a satisfactory job. The tile work was the very best. The drywall wasn't the very best. They mounted towel bars and I had to call him back twice on one of them, before finally fixing it myself. They were always on time, very punctual. They were also respectful and cleaned up their mess. We didn't have any problems with them being in the house.

We still haven't done some of the difficult work in the bathroom, just the minor things, but we didn't use him because he was a little bit expensive for the minor work. After explaining what I needed done, he asked where we were located. Responded that it was Riverview, south of Brandon. Was told that they do not come out this far. Mentioned to him that it did not state that on Angie's list, which is why I called them in the first place.

 + -1 moreWe needed it done fairly quickly in about three weeks. He assured us that he could fit it in. He did much of it in the evenings and on Saturdays and finished it on time. He put in a baseboard we had pre-painted - which was not mentioned in the agreement, doing a far better job than I would have done. There were no extra charges.
Description of Work: Remodeled one small bathroom. Removed the tub and sink and a small wall separating the tub from the sink. Installed a new corner shower and a smaller sink. Retiled the floor & repainted the walls and ceiling. We supplied the floor tile.

 + 4 moreVery punctual and receptive. Honest and straightforward. Estimate on target. Cleaned up every day after work. Absolute pleasure to deal with. Uses a subcontractor for tile work. Excellent workmanship. Will use Brian for other projects in the future.
Description of Work: Demolished old bathroom, removed all debris, installed sheet rock, set new bath tub, toilet, sink. Installed new window. Installed shower sliding glass door. Installed glass block divider. Tiled the entire bathroom, shower to ceiling, the rest 5 feet height. Installed fixtures, hardware, medicine cabinet, exhaust fan, and new lights. Painted entire bathroom. Did some work on existing closet and shelving with new handles and hinges. We bought all the materials and fixtures except sheet rock and some plumbing supplies.

He maintained a great attitude during the estimating process as well as the actual construction job. He was open to suggestions. He cleaned up the job site after he was done every day. His price was very competitive, actually the best one we received. Overall, I highly recommend Brian. He is very professional and we are very satisfied with the work that was done.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel. Removed old floor tile, replaced with new tile. Removed old jacuzi tub, replaced with tiled shower with glass shower wall. Removed old particle-board and formica vanity and replaced with new furniture vanities. Replaced all plumbing fixtures. Replaced pocket door with swing door. Replaced old window with new window.

 + 3 moreBrian did an incredible job for us. His estimate was one of the lowest and it laid out exactly the cost of the work and what was expected. Brian was very conscientious and was remarkably neat as he had to completely gut the bathroom and rebuild it. We had to rebuild 2 inside walls, closed a doorway, replaced a window, installed all new vanities and hardware, and installed a exhaust fan. From setting the schedule to completing the work, he was always on time and did a great job. We recommend him for any in-house construction. As a matter of fact we already have recommended him to our neighbors.
Description of Work: Brian McHugh completely redid our bathroom from drywall, to flooring, to installing cabinets and a window.

Description of Work: Removed water damaged drywall in the garage on the lower wall, installed new drywall, finished and textured to match existing drywall, re-grouted shower curb area and reapplied silicone the lower shower rail.

 + 7 moreBryan McHugh was very professional throughout the project. He wrote estimates and made modifications to the specifications and estimates as we thought of changes before work began. Once work began, he did most of the work himself, but on occasion had one or two assistants. The work went smoothly for the most part with no major problems. Any questions or issues we had, we talked to Bryan about them and he dealt with them expeditiously. When the work was completed, he invited us to call him again if we thought of anything else.
Description of Work: Remodel Bathroom. Demo entire bathroom except bathtub and dispose of all materials. Install new hardibacker wet area cement board throughout tub/shower area and new drywall as required throughout bathroom area. Install new tile on walls throughout shower/tub area and on bathroom floor, and on walls up to about 5' high. Remove old toilet and install new one which we supplied. Remove old vanity and install new one and sink fixture which we supplied. Plumb bathtub/shower fixtures and vanity sink fixtures (we supplied fixtures). Install exhaust fan on separate switch. Install two recessed lights on dimmer switch. Install medicine cabinet/mirror. Install two sconces on separate switch. Replace existing door with larger door (which we supplied). Create a glass block window between bathroom and hall. Remove wallpaper, repair wall as needed and paint wall and ceiling. Install grab bar in shower. Install towel racks, etc.

 + 5 moreBryan made evening appointment to evaluate job for estimate to work around my work schedule. He provided complete estimate and made necessary alterations. Promised start date of 10/22 and arrived at promised time. Estimated four days work time. Bryan and Todd never stopped. Cleaned up work each day and they were extremely careful in moving large items, (tub and vanity) through narrow hallway to get in bathroom. They got the work done in three days. This was an ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC experience dealing with Bryan. Bryan also returned all phone calls between getting estimate and start date, as I tried to make sure materials I was buying for job would be the right materials. Bryan's estimate was not the lowest I received, but I am not sorry for spending the extra money.
Description of Work: Bryan and his assistant, Todd, renovated second bathroom in my house. I took out walls in tub, commode, vanity and floor before work was started. Bryan and Todd installed new backerboard around tub, new tub, removed soffit above shower and raised ceiling to uniform height in bathroom, repaired walls and installed all materials. This included tiling around tub, tiling floor, commode, vanity, cabinet, fixtures, door and jamb and a window replacement. I bought materials prior to their beginning work and it was at my house before start date of project. Total renovation of bathroom.

 + 0 moreMr. McHugh is a nice person. He is willing to discuss construction matters. His bid is one of the most detailed that I have ever seen. McHugh Construction work is average but not excellent. Tile work needs improving. Tiles were not square or lined up. Titles were out as much as 1/16 of an inch. At times he did not have the correct tools to do the job. He spent a lot of time running back and forth to buy the necessary tools and materials to do the job. Mr. McHugh needs to confirm with the home owner before he installs items. McHugh Construction is pretty good about keeping the work area clean.
Description of Work: The bathroom was completely gutted and re-done. All fixtures were replaced. Walls were tiled from floor to ceiling. Floor was tiled. Ceiling was re-done (removed popcorn and did textured finish). Tub was removed and replaced with tile shower. This was a complete re-do of a bathroom.

Description of Work: He gutted half my kitchen to and did drywall work to prep for cabinet installation. He did all of the removal of appliances, plumbing, electrical and drywall work. I had another company do the cabinets and granite countertops and he worked before during and after they came and helped me to ensure the job went smoothly.
