Ben contacted us before arrival including a photograph so we felt comfortable he was from the company. Ben was professional and efficient in completing the task. We would highly recommend Ben.

Ben, the electrician who installed the fan was professional and efficient. He even wore cloth booties over his shoes and placed a drop cloth on the floor while he worked. Luminous had Ben return free of charge to inspect the noise issue when I complained the fan motor was louder than I expected. I am very pleased with their install and customer service. I would use Luminous again.

excellent/ the box never fit into the wall properly since house was built over20years ago. This is my third replacement since moving in and all were done by licensed electricians, This man actually made sure that the box was properly seated before he left my residence. The whole process from inquiry to scheduling through performing the service was performed professionally and amicably. We had just acquired our condo in Channelside. As a result of the home inspection, the breaker panel was found to be serviceable, however, several wires were double tapped. Mike T. who arrived promptly as scheduled quickly assessed the problem and made an instant recommendation to correct on the spot. Additionally, Mike conducted a thorough inspect of condo’s electrical system. He was thorough in his assessments and clearly demonstrated a command of his craft. Moreover, he was extremely personable and exuberated trustworthiness. I would definitely recommend this outstanding firm for all your electrical needs.

The original installation was nearly 3 decades old and had been done at the time of house original construction. The Luminous Electric technician, Dan, quickly analyzed the existing installation, removed the old fan, and installed the new fan (which I had purchased earlier). A 5-star experience in all respects. They arrived early and did an excellent job. Explained what they were fixing and provided pricing before performing job. And they cleaned up after themselves. However, they are a bit pricey.

He showed up on time and completed a quote quickly. Six lights installed in one room. The quote was $660. Should take a few hours to complete work. Seemed ok until I found out that he was trying to install cheap led downlights. I let him know that the lights should be the same as the ones in the kitchen which is in the same room as the living room. The quote for the same six lights now became $1400 plus tax. He also attempted to sell my wife a house surge protection for $500. The light fixtures are 80 bucks for 6. The rest of the bill was labor.

Jason and Allen did a great job. They were on time,quoted the job and completed it the same day. It looks great and now we are enjoying our new hot tub. We are planning a remodel and will definitely use them again.

This review is my opinion. We found Luminous Electric via Angie’s List (AL) and were impressed with their grade and reviews. Utilizing the AL app, we reached out via message requesting a quote. We received back a timely response and an appointment was setup. The technician showed up on time and we discussed the needed work. My biggest concern was replacing the bathroom exhaust fans with a higher quality fan to eliminate noise. The technician mentioned the Hitachi brand but said he the company did not have them in the van but would look into it. The technician also mentioned that it was probably time to replace the smoke detectors in the house as they [detectors] and the home were 10 years old - a nice catch. The technician advised that since we needed 10 a discount would be provided on the replacements. I agreed, advised the technician I had business travel to get ready for and would be on conference calls while the work was being completed. The technician advised understanding and went out to a van to complete the quote. Upon return the technician provided me a quote that contained three-line items (labor not broken out) with a “quantity”, “your price” and “your total” on an iPad. The total seemed high but considering the technician was replacing the exhaust fan assemblies, I agreed. What I was unaware of until the end was that the technician was not replacing the exhaust fan assembly but only the fan motors themselves. I was able to observe the fan motor replacement on the final exhaust fan and it took the technician less than 15 minutes to complete it. I questioned the technician as to why and the response was it was much more difficult to replace the assembly and the new motors were much quieter and an upgrade. Reflecting on the quote provided, I could not understand why I was being charged $281.00 per fan for a total of $1,124.00. I looked up pricing via Google and Amazon and showed the technician the difference in pricing; the fan motor replacements were around $50. The Technician advised the difference was labor and the fact the work could be done right now. In my opinion, four bathroom fan kits (with a 20% markup) would be ~$240 ($60 per) leaving the remaining amount of ~$884 as labor? In my opinion this is an excessive amount. By the way, the replacement fan motors are louder than the originals. I also agreed to the replacement of the smoke detectors where I would be given a discount due to the quantity I was replacing. The line item on the quote sheet was the same with each smoke detector costing $119 per unit. I took a photo of the replacement smoke detector and priced this as well. Google and Amazon showed unit pricing of around $24. Ten smoke detector replacements (with 20% markup) would be ~$288 ($28.80 per) leaving the remaining amount of ~$902. Again, in my opinion, this is excessively high. The entire evolution took only a few hours (included time for the technician to leave and purchase the smoke detectors). Upset at my incompetence, I simply paid the technician who then left. To add insult to injury, I discovered a mess that the technician had left in each bathroom and around the house from the replacement of the smoke detectors. I phoned the company and spoke with a representative. I advised how upset I was with the mess the technician left and the price I paid. I received a voice mail from the manager apologizing for the mess (advised the technician was new) and asking me to call back. A few hours later, I phoned the manager and advised of my dissatisfaction. I laid out my opinion on the unit cost, markup and labor being excessive. The manager listened but advised that the amount was fair and should have probably been higher. When I objected the manager lectured me on the proud history of the company and that most electrical companies go out of business for not charging enough. The manager offered a credit for future services, but I declined advising this issue (for me) was about right and wrong, craftsmanship and trust. I thanked the manager and ended the call. At the end of the day, my incompetence and inattention are to blame. I should have been more careful and specific on the work to be done and in less of a hurry.

they made the remodeling job much easier. Professional, answered all questions and (I feel) you can really trust with advice --- and that saying something. Mike and Eli are highly recommended. Mike really knows his craft.

Two young professionals showed up. They were super nice and very professional.

I called in to get information for two different jobs and was disconnected from the person I was speaking with. When she called back I was on the phone so the call went to voicemail. I called back and I was ask if I owned the house needing the two breakers replaced "your voicemail says you are a Realtor". I let her know I was not the owner but I was the person paying for the work. She was more concerned about making sure I knew I would have to pay a $45 service fee than anything else "and its due at the time of service, not billable". Not a company I will be doing business with.

Luminous Electric rep came to the house to provide a quote for wiring a portable generator to my house main breaker panel. They were on time and professional and seemed to know what they were doing. I did not hire them because the quote of $1600.00 for this work was to high in my opinion. I am hiring another company that is listed on this website that was much less.

The service went very well. The office was very good with communication. The technicians, Adam and Dan, were fantastic. They were prompt, professional, and friendly. They explained everything they were going to do and what it would cost before they started any work. The entire experience was simple and easy. I would absolutely recommend luminous Electric, and especially Adam and Dan, to any of my family and friends.
