Description of Work: I used Speedy once before (a month earler for work on a larger scope) and was very pleased with the technicians and work performed. However this time was for very minor work to add a couple of duplex outlets (an existing outlet aleady there to work from). I also need pre-wiring for 2 undercabinet lights with switch. The work did not include supplying the lights. The on-site quote was for $424.09. The point of this review is to warn customers about agreeing to the inital quote which is provided in an amount on the high end since the technnican doesn't really know what it will take or how long to complete the work. Once you okay Speedy to proceed you are pretty much stuck with the hign end quote even if the work takes about 40 minuts (which it did in this case). I contacted the company to inquire as to why they would not adjust the quote once they know it was a simple job that would take less than an hour. I was told that once my husband had given Speedy the go ahead based on the $424 quote that was the price.....no matter what. After much dialogue Speedy reduced the price to $310.00. I won't use Speedy again which is unfortunate since initally I thought they were reputable.

Description of Work: I called to schedule service I purchased through a big deal coupon. The scheduler was very rude, said they couldn't find my purchase on their computer and refused to schedule us until it showed up. They said they would call back, but didn't. I called again and left a message to try and schedule. They did call us back, but said their computer system was down and couldn't schedule. They said they would call back as soon as computer was back up, but they did not. I tried calling a couple more times and just got voicemail. At this point, since it had been so difficult to schedule the service I was skeptical about what I would end up with when the electrician actually showed up. So I contacted Angie's List for a refund on my Big Deal. Angie's List was wonderful about the whole thing.

Description of Work: Called Speedy to fix some wiring issues in a home I just purchased. The major piece was to remove a run of aluminum wiring that needed to come out. Also they needed to replace some older style circuit breakers. The electricians were on-time and completed the work in the estimated amount of time. They worked really hard to remove the last run of aluminum in the house and were successful even though the run was very difficult to get to. All in all they did a great job and will call them again for more work in the future.

Charged me $88 for two lights, two screws for outdoor lights and one on/off switch.

Description of Work: I had asked for a refund on the same day that I bought the two-hour of professional electric services. And, unfortunately, there was no proper follow-up. I was finally informed by Angie that I was required to submit a "refund form" from Angies. I don't know if the problem was with Angie's or the Electric Services provider. But, I believe that both learned from the experience and may consider using them in the future. in the midst of writing this review, I received the refund. So, something is working.
