+ 0 moreThe best part of thee experience was two fold. one the gentleman looked at all I had bought and looked at the project and told me to take it all back and get my money back. All I needed was some sort of adapter ring. He said he could get the rings and install them the same day. My issue was I had an urgent appointment and had to leave. Knowing the quality and honesty of this company I said fine, left a check for the parts and they came back while I was out, job done perfectly. You can't ask for better service!
Description of Work: When renovating the master bath the shower light receptacle could not accomodate LED dimmable spot lights. So I both several refit items at Home Depot.

+ -1 moreFirst I made I left a email appointment on Saturday. The automated response said they would get back with me, but they never did. I called = them Monday afternoon. Bobbi Jo told me she had a computer problem and was unable to make appointments. She made an appointment anyway on Tuesday between 12:00 and 2:00. No one ever called or showed up. Then, no one answered when I called them and I left messages. I called again on Wednesday and she said she still had a computer problem and was unable to make appointments. She said she would call back to make an appointment. Today, she then said she still was unable to make an appointment, so I refunded the deal.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal and wanted them to put up some lights.

Description of Work: Two man crew arrived on time & provided service I bought with the deal. The code inspector required some additions which were not included in original package. I hired them to replace rusted wires connecting new electric panel to power company line coming to house as well as rusted out cap on stack, a new ground required in updated code. Speedy Electric gave me a fair price, obtained the required equipment and installed it well. Speedy Electric made no effort to up-sell me and only offered what I requested. I was very satisfied with their work so I inquired about the surge protector in deal. I asked for the top quality one that could replace one powr company provided for a monthly charge. I will call on them again when I need electric work done. Jim M.

I also had him install 2 timer switches for my outdoor lights. Jesse was punctual, professional, and Speedy's service rates are reasonably priced. I will definitely call them for future electrician services.

+ -1 moreThe company never showed up and did not call. We want our money back now. We paid Angies List on July 29, 2012. Today is October 12, 2012.
Description of Work: We received and email from Angie's list with an offer to put a household surge protection unit into the house. We were away traveling and I emailed the establishment giving them dates that I would return that would work. I never heard back from them. I then recieved an email explaining that there were levels of service that could be purchased up to $2,000 or so as I recall. I really felt cheated at this since the previous ad from Angies List said that what I was purchasing did everything. So I figured just go with what I purchased. Today we finally got an appointment for them to come out. They did not call or show up. So like others that have written reports on here the professionalism of this firm is in serious question in our mind. I am going to start the process to get a refund.

+ -1 moreThe scheduling of the appointment was the weak link in the transaction; I had to initiate contact 3 times before the service call was set up. After that, they arrived on time, explained what they were going to do , and then finished with the completion of the work in a short time. They answered a couple of questions I had about the operation of the surge protector, accepted my voucher, and provided me with the receipt as expected.

They did not respond properly, actually, they did not respond at all. We waited, and waited, further endangering us due to the live electrical charge. The great work they had done in the past was squandered by this situation.

+ 1 moreSee above. 9/18/2012 up date I had used these guys several times and was happy with their work, so I called them again to install two lanai lights in a condo. Talk about Jeckle and Hyde!!! They arrived an hour late and charged me over $300 to install 2 light fixtures, one of which was just a replacement for an existing light. When I asked for a breakdown of the charges, I was told they would call me back. They did not. I called twice more and emailed them, and as of today, 10/1/2012, have not received a call back. Unbelievable.
Description of Work: These guys installed some lighting fixtures in my condo recently and did a great job, so I called them again to install 3 ceiling fans and a switch in my home. They did a great job for a really good price. We were pleased with their work and will definitely continue to use them.

Description of Work: We are renovating a home and had electrical work that accumulated in the process. Needed some new switches and outets as well as identification of what controls what. Electrician was super. Did everything on the list in less than two hours.

Description of Work: They took an electrical box that was exposed and relocated it and buried deep in the ground. They also repositioned another electrical component so that it would be out of harms-way. They also came up with a strategy to do that in the most efficient way.

Description of Work: BOBBI JO AND I HAD CONTACT SEVERAL TIMES. I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A HOUSE OUT IN THE ESTATES IN NAPLES. SHE SEEMED VERY NICE. THE HOUSE WAS EMPTY. I ASKED HER TO SEND SOMEONE OUT TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE ON INSTALLATION OF A TANKLESS WATER SYSTEM, GAS DRYER AND GAS WHOLEHOUSE GENERATOR W/ 200 AMP SHEDDING PANEL ALL OF WHICH I WAS PROVIDING FROM MY CURRENT HOUSE. I ALSO NEEDED A 1000 GAL PROPANE TANK TO BE INSTALLED. SHE RECOMMENDED A GUY BY THE NAME OF BRUCE. COMPANY UNKNOWN. I TOLD HER THERE WOULD BE A CLEANING CREW AT THE HOUSE ON A GIVEN DAY. THEY WOULD HAVE ACCESS TO THE HOUSE TO GO OUT AND DO ANY MEASUREMENTS NEEDED THE ENTIRE DAY INSIDE AND OUT. THE HOUSE WAS EMPTY. ACCORDING TO MY CLEANING CREW WHICH I ALSO OBTAINED OFF OF ANGIES LIST (GREAT SERVICE TARAS) THE ONLY PERSON THAT SHOWED UP WAS BRUCE FROM THE PROPANE COMPANY. NO ONE FROM THE ELECTRICAL SERVICE. NOW I HAVE CALLED LITERALLY FOR 3 WEEKS ALMOST DAILY FOR 2 OF THOSE WEEKS TO GET BOBBY JO TO CALL ME BACK AND FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. I CANNOT GET HER TO RETURN A CALL AT ALL. I HAVE NO IDEA THE NAME OF THE PROPANE COMPANY THAT CAME OUT TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER COMPANY IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. VERY, VERY POOR COMMUNICATION. THE LAST FEW MESSAGES I LEFT WERE TO THE EFFECT IF SHE DID NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS JUST CALL ME AND BE PROFESSIONAL ENOUGH TO LET ME KNOW THE REASONS WHY. AT LEAST GIVE ME THE NAME OF THE PROPANE COMPANY SO I COULD CONTACT BRUCE (I BELIEVE THAT WAS HIS NAME) SINCE HE DID MAKE THE EFFORT) TO GO OUT TO THE HOUSE AND HER COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE COULD NOT. They made appropriate suggestions as to the placement of the fixtures, and theywere in fact, quite "speedy".
Description of Work: They replaced two existing bathroom light fixtures,and existing kitchen ceiling fixture, and installed 3 new pendant lights.

+ 1 moreMy experience with them was very bad. He kept wanting to reschedule the appointment. As they have a policy that if they show up late for an appointment and you would get your money back. When he finally came I asked him for references for future work he said he would email it to me. Then I called them to find out when I would get the refund back and could not get anyone. So I called Angies List to put an investigation on them. Finally got a call form Speedy saying that they would mail out the refund. I have not received a refund check and never got the referrals. So I sent a second email to Angies List and that they never responded to even American Express and they would take my charge off my account and I never received an email back from Angies List either. and none of my reviews were ever posted on Angie's List.
Description of Work: 4 April, 2012 : I responded to a promotion of Angies List for Speedy Electric to install a whole house surge suppressor for $149. They were to arrive between 9 - 11am. At 11:30 on the day of service I called Speedy's, informing them their electrician was late. I was told that they were experiencing dispatch problems and could they reschedule for 12:30pm. I agreed. About 5 minutes later I received a call from Speedy's, stating that it was their policy to refund the entire service if they are late for an appointment. This was stated on their web site. They said they would send me a check for the full amount of $149. At 12:45 (late again) the electrician Randy Fouts arrived. He installed the suppressor and agreed to send me estimates for future service. Speedy was late for both appointments. 17 April, 2012 : Opened an investigation with my credit card, American Express concerning Speedy Electric. The $149 charge was put on hold pending the investigation. 20 April, 2012 : Left a message with Speedy Electric reminding them of their promise to refund $149. due to the late appointment. Did not receive a return call from Speedy. 20 April, 2012 : Sent a note to Angies List about the incident Referencr # 120420-001701. 25 April, 2012 : Received a cll from Speedy. They asked about the estimates and said they had sent them. I told them I had not received the estimates, please send them again. I asked when I would receive the refund check for the late service. They said they would look into the refund and get back to me. At this time I have not received the estimates nor the refund check. 30 April, 2012 : Searched Angies list, did not find `Speedy' in my history of used vendors, nor my review sent on 20 April, 2012. Sent another note to Angies List asking where was my review. #120430-001021. 10 May, 2012 : Received a letter from American Express stating that have concluded their investigation into Speedy's Electric and having received no response from them, Amex will take the charge off my account. 17 July, 2012 : Received a call from Lukia, of Angie's List. asking about my history with Speedy Electric. I told my experience. She stated she would submit the report and it should show up on the Angie's List site in a few days. I also asked her why I had not recieved any feedback concerning my 2 inquireies to Angie's List concerning Speedy. She said she would get back to me by email. 23 July, 2012 : Receive an email from Daniel Woody on how to use their `complaint resolution'. Sent a note to Daniel informing him that I would not be utilizing their `complaint resolution' as American Express had taken care of the problem. Conclusion: This was a learning experience for me, as it was the first time I had poor service from an Angie's List vendor. After not receiving a resolution from Speed's nor Angie's List, I contacted my credit card American Express. My suggestion to other Angie's List customers, if you have a problem with a vendor call your credit card company and place an investigation to stop the charge. As for the surge suppressor Speed's installed, it's a small 2 3/4 inch by 2 inch black box attached to my fuse box. I doubt it would stop any large surge.

+ 3 moreI called this company on 5-30-2012 and spoke with Bobbi Jo and stated that I was in need of outlets installed and cable and data jacks along with a ceiling fan. I requested a date for an estimate which she gave me as 6-6-2012. On that date I called the office in the morning to verify the time that the estimator would arrive. Bobbi Jo stated that her computer was down and she would call me back. I ended up calling her two more times, once in mid-afternoon and the other just before 5 pm to inquire when my re-schedule date would be. She stated that it would be Friday, June 8th in the morning. Today being June 8th I called at 9:30 and spoke with Bobbi Jo again and she stated that they would not be able to make it today and I would have to have an appointment for sometime next week. I told her that with all the phone calls and broken promises that I would find another company. The total job would have been in the $1500 to $2000 range with all the work to be done.
