JL Closets

We had a great experience working with JL Closets from the initial home consultation to the installation. The designer was knowledgeable, patient and worked with us to ensure our closet was designed how we wanted it.

I just had 2 closets installed by JL Closets, one for my bedroom walk-in closet and the other, a linen closet. The team was fabulous in terms of coming up with a design that incorporated my existing dresser while maximizing the storage space based on my needs, and coming within my budget. I highly recommend JL Closets!

From initial consultation to installation this was a very good experience. The team was professional, helpful and knowledgeable. My final product, a wall bed, looks amazing in my space. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend JL Closets for any project.

JL Closets has been an absolute nightmare to work with. I hired them Sept 1, 2022. It's January 17, 2023 and I still don't have my closets installed and they won't refund me so I can hire another closet company. In my opinion, Kris is the most unethical business owner I've ever heard of. They disputed the contract with me after making design issues. Then they promised to fix everything and finish my closets by Thanksgiving. Then they messed up again, and promised by Christmas. Then the owner Kris changed his mind and refused to finish the project. I eventually disputed my payment and wrote a BBB review explaining what happened. Now they keep emailing me "offering" to refund only a portion of my payment only if I remove my review. It's taken online reviews and credit card disputes, otherwise this company was content keeping my money. Save yourself the agony and choose any other closet company. Kris, the owner, is not the type of person to "do the right thing".

JL Closets is not a professional company and the owner Kristoffer is dishonest. They were instructed multiple times to cover my floors before installation and damaged new tile floors. Furthermore, the company violated the contract by charging me the day of "installation" without performing this and another 10% at "final inspection" without there being a final inspection. Upon arrival, JL closets dumped dirty and damaged closet parts on my floors and left for the day. This was their "installation". When I explained this to the manager Cathleen, she was aggressive towards me, but wanted to see the process through. Cathleen disappeared after the first day of oversight and then blamed me for her company damaging my floors. I do not recommend JL Closets. They treat their employees poorly, are dishonest, have bad customer service, substandard closet systems and take advantage of their customers.

Superbly. JL Cabinets was very amenable to changes, and the installer also adapted to some changes that were needed and could only be seen during the install. The installer also recognized that the over-toilet cabinets had to be shallower so as not to stick out and cause injury; that change was easily handled and the results are stunning. (I've included photos of these two custom-built cabinets.) All doors and drawer fronts are perfectly aligned and work flawlessly. The shelves are beyond wonderful; the very high ceilings allowed the master closet to absorb a large amount of stuff and it doesn't look overfilled at all.
