We have used GGL at least twice before, to rebuild our master bath and renovate our staircase foyer. Based on their excellent work we brought them back for this big project. We'd lived in the mid-80s era condo since 05 and it gradually revealed itself to need much repair and renovation. The water leaks in the upstairs and below the kitchen sink had caused damage and staining and the particle board was gone under the formica counter around the sink and the cabinet underneath was warped and crumbling. My dear wife hated the thought of having visitors in to this dilapidated residence. When George Labbad came over he quickly sized up what was needed and recommended we not try to go cheap by not replacing the old tile. The grout on it had never been sealed and couldn't be cleaned. He urged us to think about eventual resale value and make it a place we could enjoy until then. We're so glad we listened--yes it cost a lot but he won't low ball his estimates, insisting the estimate reflect the actual costs of a quality job. His recommended tile and kitchen companies had excellent tastes and led us to very satisfactory choices in a beautiful woodgrain porcelain flooring--better than real wood for a downstairs in south Florida! And the their subcontractor Grandview Kitchens had an absolutely gorgeous selection on sale, a peacock green that went perfectly with the ivory cabinets we found there. They helped us select the perfect tiled backsplash that unified the cabinet and countertop. The crew was overseen by George's son Greg, working with his brother Gavin, and they were friendly, personable and highly responsive to our slightest questions or suggestion. This company values its reputation for integrity and excellence more than any I've ever encountered and we felt perfectly safe with them working in our house, knowing they cared more about the work than we did! They had many excellent suggestions and went our of their way to make the finished product beautiful. We can't wait for GGL to do another project with us. Working with them is sheer pleasure. Thank you for transforming our first floor!!

Still getting estimates for work

From our first interaction, getting the estimate for the work, George was very professional and helpful. He delivered the estimate on time and detailed the cost of different materials for the job. George followed up to be sure we understood the estimates. After we contracted with GGL there was some delay in starting the job mostly due to the weather but once started it was completed quickly. I was coordinating this work from out of town and George kept me up to date on the project by phone. When I called George he always responded quickly and professionally. George is very honest and saved me money by utilizing the deck railing from the old deck since it was in good shape, he could have replaced the whole deck and I would not have known that the railing was still useable. I would use GGL & Sons Construction for future projects and would recommend them to my friends and family.

I like everything about him. He is a great and friendly guy. He didn't ask money right away and started to work by trusting me. I was away and I needed him in an emergency. I think he is incredibly great. I would use him again.

He was 15 minutes late to my appointment (no courtesy call). I have not heard from him since. Needless to say, I did not get my estimate.

Removing existing popcorn is a messy and time-consuming job at best -- and one I wasn't looking forward to. But, I was totally impressed with the preparation and care given by GGL's crew to protect the surfaces of the floors, windows, cabinets, and large furniture that had to remain in place. They carefully moved all the furniture from the downstairs and did their best to minimize the dirt and disruption during the whole process, which took about 10 days. Each day, the crew arrived promptly and set about business right away. Greg, Larry and Richard were meticulous craftsmen and they did an excellent job with the knock-down finish on the ceilings, as well as the paint application. They were always courteous, respectful and professional ... and they cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. Gail, GGL's design consultant, provided excellent guidance in helping me choose paint colors; George was very responsive in providing an estimate and communicating what to expect throughout the job. I couldn't be happier with the result. (Greg even retrieved my recycle bins from the curb and placed them in the garage at the end of the day. How's that for service?!)

They were very good. I live in a condo now, but when I lived in my house we had the interior of the house painted and they charged us the same amount of money and did less work. So this was a fair price. They were excellent on the clean up. They vacuumed up after themselves every day. I couldn't have asked for anything better. They moved all the furniture. It was a very good experience. The price is good. They were here the next day to give me a quote. I would definitely use them again. I even recommended them to a Realtor in case anyone was looking for a painter.

After the great job GGL, did last year on repairing and renovating our master bath, we had them in to repair the mildewed sheet-rock caused by a leaky skylight over our stairwell. Within three days the crew had replasterd the damaged area and painted over the mildew with an oil-based paint to kill the mildew and then helped us select a nice light beige to paint the entire stair well and top landing walls and a gloss white for stair railings. They installed three new light fixtures and also repaired the porch screening. As before we are very happy with the quality of GGL's work.

Gail was fantastic to work with. She met me and picked up immediatly on my style and taste. On the second visit she brought all samples (flooring, paints, tiles window treatments) In took only two meetings to settle all selections. At that point, George took over and provided a written estimate and payment schedule. All work was completed on time and within budget. Comunnication was great and they sent photos as they progressed as I live full-time in MD. They handled permits and worked well with my condo management. There was one snag with a window treatement that was too short. Gail caught it and had it replaced before I ever knew...

They never showed up, nor did they call. I waited for a couple hours to see if they were running late or something... Don't know what happened, but they lost my business!!!

My husband and I were looking for a reliable contractor to do some much needed repairs, gutters and paint to the exterior of our house. We decided to call GGL Construction because of their reviews on Angie’s List. We took a chance and received a call back the same day and met George either the same day or shortly after (can’t quite remember but it was quick). Not only did he inspect the house with a fine tooth-comb, he also explained to us why we needed these repairs in the first place. Needless to say, we learned a lot. GGL wasn’t the cheapest option but we wanted the job done right, on time and I wanted someone who paid as much attention to the project as we did. The job took 6 days and from the moment the crew showed up (10 min early!) to the minute they finished we were all smiles. The team, led by Greg (Project Manager) was courteous, professional, punctual, hard working, communicative and most importantly paid attention to every crack and corner. They cared about the property, lawn, neighbors and even a couple of lost dogs on our street. I wouldn't hesitate to call GGL again for our next project and I highly recommend GGL to the client who cares about getting the job done RIGHT the first time. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this project!

The first day I signed up for Angie's List I called him as I was looking for a general contractor. I called three and he was the most knowledgeable. He was very professional, on time, detailed, punctual, and all the workers were kind and friendly. I've given all my friends his card and absolutely would use him again in the future. He gets the highest ratings.

I do like George a lot. He is professional, but his prices are a little expensive. I did not like the estimates for the a/c unit and other jobs, but I really liked the price for the screen and pool, so I am hiring him. It has been a pleasure meeting him.

Very well. He had to deal with another contractor laying marble on the floor which was a frustration for him, but he dealt with it very professionally.

They were puntual, friendly & steady!

They came on time, and were very professional. The price seemed to be very high so we decided not to use them.

They quoted their first official estimate at $68000, and they told me that they could do it under $64000. It was finally estimated at $60000. They sent me pictures of the condition of the apartment. I live in a Texas apartment, and it had a big fire. They pretty much said that they couldn’t just fix things. They had to replace everything and rebuild the whole thing. It was a little bit of a strain. It might be the right thing, but I didn’t use it because it was not worth it. They were very clear that they couldn’t just fix things because they were thinking that in a couple of years things would break down. They didn’t want to have that liability. I thought they were honest and good, but the price was just too expensive for me. If other people were considering getting an estimate from them, I would I think it is worth doing it because they will give one the high end of the spectrum. It clearly looks like they know what they do. If one wants to get an estimate to have something done of good quality, it is probably a company that people should use. I will not get an estimate from them again in the future.

This company is amazing. This was my first remodel experience, and the condo I purchased needed to be gutted. Not only very trustworthy, put spent time to help me understand what needed to be done, why, and in a cost efficient manner. Found solutions to things that I wanted which were not practical-- with a result better than I could have dreamed. The designer is amazing, patient and has wonderful vision. The construction manager and his team were so eager to please and made the work a pleasant experience. They were not the least expensive quote I got-- but I am so glad I chose them. People are amazed when they see my new home-- it is amazing. Hire these people-- you won't be sorry!!!!

The gentleman was very nice and prompt, but he was incredibly overpriced. Without even discussing the job, the gentleman viewed the area and gave a price of $44,000.00.

It took a while for us to get things started as my sister was out of the country and we had to get her Ok for things to be done but they were very helpful with their suggestions, very communicative and responded to us right away with any questions we had.

They were too expensive. He was very professional and friendly. I was very comfortable having him at my home. We ended up using someone else because GGL was so out of the ballpark. I don't know if I would call them again only because it was just crazy.

I called this company, using the telephone number on Angie's List, and left a voicemail. I explained in the voicemail that I got their number from Angie's List and was calling because of the many great ratings members had posted about them. However, I never received a call back.
