Response from Maintain Landscaping
First thing...I have no idea who [the member] is? I never met him or spoke to him concerning this property. From his choice comments he seems to be a real classy individual! I did however, meet with [another individual] at this address last week. Our office manager set an appointment for Wednesday 17th at 9:30am. I was there promptly at 9:25 (fact). [the individual] and I walked his property discussing his landscape maintenance needs and the problems he has had with several previous companies. When I left his home we shook hands and I told him we would email a proposal for service (fact). The next day I reviewed the proposal with our routing manager and the crew responsible for that area. The residential route in his particular area was so full that after much discussion we decided adding this property would be too much at the current time. We felt it would not only be a disservice to [the individual] but also to our current customers on that route to try and “squeeze” this into the existing workload. (Please keep in mind the majority of the complaints [the individual] had concerning his previous services relate to not enough time being spent on site, not showing up on scheduled days, mowing in the rain, servicing when it was almost dark, etc. can all be attributed to an over loaded schedule) Rather than risk this reoccurring with our company we made the difficult choice of turning down perspective business (fact). I emailed [the individual] Friday the 19th to explain this. (See copy below). This morning our office manager presents me with this response. Quite frankly, it offends me that someone whom, to the best of my knowledge, I have never met would use this venue/format to speak so hateful. I have no idea what his agenda was here. At this point I am extremely glad we chose not to do business with these people! I have no problem with Angie’s list customers posting their comments as long as they are factual in content and are expressed in a matter to be expected from reasonable adults. Our Email to [the individual]: ----- Reply message ----- From: MAINTAINLAND@aol.com Date: Fri, Aug 19, 2011 3:57 pm Subject: Maintain Landscaping, Inc. [Sir]: Thanks for taking the time to walk your property with me to discuss your landscape needs. Unfortunately after checking with our routing manager it would be very difficult to add a property in your area at this time. The residential routes in that area are extremely full and we feel that by over extending ourselves any more would be a disservice to our current customers and you as well. At this time it would be mid October before we would be able to add more accounts in your area. If at that time you have not secured a service which meets your needs please let us know. We thank you again for the opportunity and are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. We wish you success in finding someone and please let us know if we can help you later this fall. Sincerely, Chris
