Yocum Shutters & Blinds

Called the shop, woman said she was busy with customers and would call me back. Didn't call me back that day, shut shop and left. I left email with company explaining I couldn't take calls between 8-6 due to my job, and had taken day off work previously to make the phone call. The lady then left me 2 very rude voice mails, which obviously were calls i couldn't take as she made them between 8-6! Due to her very rude comments I do not want to liaise with this lady and will take my business elsewhere

It was very hard to keep communications clear with woman who schedules but the installer did a great job. He came first to measure and then to install. Each time he was courteous and on time. Right now, I forget cost but I do know that it was more then I expected.

Very professional and did a great job. Not cheap, but high quality blinds professionally installed. I bought it through an Angies list Big Deal which is not really that much of a big deal which has been my experience with most of the Angies List Big Deals which I have purchased.

From start to finish, all went well. The gentleman who came out to take measurements and show me the type of shutters I could purchase was very professional and on time and friendly. My original contact was with Yocum, and calls were returned promptly and prices and alternatives were discussed. Because I am a bit of a neat freak, I would suggest that they provide their service men with "booties" for their shoes. I actually have them on hand, so I gave them to the gentleman to use.

Frank was extremely responsive and helpful. He contacted me right away after purchasing the Big Deal and gave me time to peruse the options. Justin came out to measure and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Because I allowed a significant amount of time to lapse after the measurements, Justin came out a second time a few months later and we made our decision. The custom blinds arrived in 2 weeks and he came back out to install them. He was done in less than 30 minutes and we have a whole new look in the kitchen! Overall, they were very professional, patient, and a pleasure to work with.

Yocum has always done an outstanding job for us installing plantation shutters that we absolutely love. They come in get the measurements and return a few weeks later with a perfect fit and quick and neat installation. They are professional, neat and trouble free. We will use them again every time we need shutters.

The sale and installation were quite good. We like the Shutters. However, we were presented with only one type of shutter, and it was not Hunter Douglas as promised in the Angie's Big Deal coupon that we purchased. I feel that the installed shutters are of equal quality to Hunter Douglas, and we went ahead with the purchase, but it was a bit shocking to be presented with only another brand.

The process was very smooth from start of measuring to installation of the blinds. No issues were encountered. Communication from Yocum was flawless each time. I highly recommend them and will use them again.

I left a message about 10 days, or so, ago. I didn't get a response to my message until last weekend. In the meantime, I hired another company.

Shutters and blinds are two of the favorite things in the house. Especially the shutter. Makes the bathroom as good looking as you can make a room that small.

The installation went flawlessly and the shades are beautiful and insulated. The fit and finish was first class. Yocum always returned my calls and answered any questions immediately before and after the sale. I would and do recommend Yocum Blinds to everyone.

It was eight years ago and they were located in Phoenixville, PA. The company had a small, family-owned feel and did great work.

A few years ago I purchased blinds for my home from Frank Yocum and was very impressed with their customer service. However, this time when I spoke with Jim Yocum it was clear that they were not offering the same level of service. I decided to get a refund and not use them.

It went well. They were professional and punctual in setting up the appointments. They were on time for the scheduled appointments and the quality of work was great.

Did a perfect job! You can't tell the difference between the new shade & the old one. It's a perfect color match.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The blinds are fine and I am pleased with the blinds.The problem I had was with the price. I had seen the deal on Angie's List that said $500 worth of blinds for $199 so I sent my $199 in. When he came back with his price, I asked if that included the $199 or if the $199 would come out of that and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. He said that's what I paid Angie's List in order to get his deal and it didn't have anything to do with his pricing. At that point, I didn't really even care because he had what I wanted but I really thought he ripped me off as far as that was concerned. The basic work was good but I thought their pricing was high. It was my belief that he tore my curtain when he put it back up but I didn't notice it for a coupon of days. I would never use them again. I didn't think he was particularly professional when he came into my home. He had on a grungy sweatshirt and grungy torn jeans. He reeked of cigarette smoke. I told the owner of the company when he came back. I have asthma and that affects me badly. When he came back, he was a little better groomed and he wasn't as stinky as he had been the first time. It wasn't a really good experience. I am pleased with the blinds but that was about all that was good about it.

The service was fine. They came when they were supposed to, honored the coupon, they were efficient, organized, did a good job, and I have no complaints at all. He called the very next day, and he came very soon after I spoke to him and then came to install the blinds after ordering them. The service was perfect, there were no issues, they came in a timely manner, ordered the blinds, and the installers came, so there were no issues. I haven't gotten other prices, but I have gotten other blinds, and the pricing was very fair.

I cancelled the coupon purchase and got my money back.

I spoke with the sales representative. He informed me that I would have to pay an additional $99 up front in order for them to come to take measurements. He then informed me of some additional fees on top of this and then stated that the $199 I paid for the Big Deal would not go to them and that Angie’s List keeps that.

It worked out fine. The price was a significant discount. The guy was very nice. The timeline was pretty much on target. They had to come out and measure. I had to select the style and type that I wanted. They ordered it and ten days later they came in. They called to scheduled the installation. They were on time.

They installed wooden shutters in a large window with an arched window at the top. This was a complicated window covering and they were the only ones I spoke with that knew how to best handle this. They gave me an operational shutter for the arch window which was something nobody else seemed to be able to do. Installation went well, they were courteous with their manner and also my time. Frank was great with customer service back at the shop as well. Great job and I would use them again. I liked them so much I had them put wooden blinds in 8 other windows around the rest of the house. Good quality.

The contact person on the phone, Roberta, was great! She was as helpful as can be, even when Yocum was swamped with orders. What was so frustrating was scheduling someone to come to my house for the first visit. Appt.s were cancelled MANY times because they didn't have enough jobs in Philadelphia. They're located in West Chester!!! I bought their Angies List special, called them early november 2013. Finally someone came to measure and he was wonderful (in mid December). The measurer helped me decide if I wanted shutters, cell-shades, or blinds. Really knew the products and explained how the blinds are treated to minimize dust. Also the installer was great too! He was very patient, great disposition, and showed me detailed instructions dealing with the blinds that I never knew about. BTW they're father and son and have worked for Yocum a long time. I'm very happy with my blinds. Just wish scheduling didn't take so long! Once they finally made the first visit, things went well. BTW I don't know much about prices and my blinds' cost was with the Angies list special.
