John is a good man. It went excellent. They were on time. They took the trees out and cleaned up afterward. They left soil to get grass going where they dug up the roots. We have used them for years. We have used others in the past, but this company has been the best. He has also taken care of our landscaping in the past. We get lots of compliments on the work done.

They did a good job. We had used them before. We would recommend them anyone.

d I was quite impressed with Kerns Brothers. I received an estimate the day I called from a professional who provided a detailed estimate describing all the services and the costs associated with each service, and they pruned my large tree at the front of the house and a bush within one week of my accepting their proposal. It took them about 2-3 hours and when they left my property was free of any debris. I had called another competitor for an estimate and it took this company two months to come to our house. The estimate was about the same as that given by Kerns Brothers (about 15 dollars more than Kerns Brothers) but no details about what would be done were provided. I decided to go with Kerns Brothers because they seemed more professional and the price seemed competitive. I was not disappointed.

Kerns Brothers is a reliable company, and I would recommend them to others.

It was fine. They were prompt and efficient. They removed the branch and that was the end of the problem.

We suffered storm damage as a result of Hurricane Irene. Large tree limbs were down in the yard and we wanted to get them cleaned up as soon as possible. We were very concerned about one large tree that we thought might need to be removed as it posed a large risk of damage to the house should it fall. We called Kerns, who we had used before, and despite them being flooded with similar calls, they sent out an estimator within 3 days. They provided a quote for clean-up of the fallen limbs and removal of the tree, but also let us know that the large tree was healthy and did not present as large a risk as we had thought. After several days of consideration, we called them back to let them know that we did not want to remove the tree, and they came back out and re-estimated clean-up and aggressive pruning instead. Within a week of the 2nd estimate, their crew was out doing the work. Due to rain the effort took several days, but their crew always kept us updated on what they were doing and when they would return to finish the job. The final invoice price agreed with the estimate. Overall, we were very satisfied.

I've used them 3 times and all three times they were professional, knowledgeable, and gave me options. They showed up when they said they would and did the job quickly and with relatively little mess. I first used them because someone else recommended them to me. I'd definitely recommend them.

I am very happy with them. They have always been very fair. Their manager Bob is very knowledgeable about trees and plants. He is very aware as to what you want or need. He will have the information usually at his finger tips. I was asking him to recommend bushes that I was replacing. He gave me some ideas for bushes that would do well in my yard. He understands the trees so he knows what time of the year it is best to prune and how much to prune. Whatever he tells me has usually worked out and yet he is not pushy. Whatever I decide to do is what I have decided. Price wise I think what you get is fair. You could probably find somebody who would cut your trees for less. I have tried that too. Generally he knows what he is doing. So I think he is fair. I will continue to use this provider in the future.

The gentleman that came was very knowledgeable. They explained everything. They told me about a particular bug that I need to watch out for. They remind me and send me a quarterly update on what is going on with trees and bugs in the area. I have very old Ash trees so I worry about them. They also do trimming for me. They gave me two prices, one price for taking the whole tree down and another price taking part of it down. They did not give one set price. They were able to work with whatever I needed. Overall I was totally pleased with them. I have used them in the past and I will continue to use them in the future. Besides the fact that they came when they said, they answered all my questions, they broke the prices down for the different things they could do. It was not an all or nothing kind of deal. I really like the idea that they keep in touch with me even when I don’t use them.

They know exactly what has to be done to which tree. They are wonderful. They are fabulous. I would rate them high overall and would use them again in the future.

I had a lot of tree damage after a storm with a tree left resting on my roof. I got a couple of bids before I selected Kerns and their bid was about the same as the others. My neighbor who also had tree damage said Kerns was the best and that was the company they were going to use, so I did too since most of the trees that needed work were between our houses. They came when they said they would and did the work in a timely and professional way. Some of my storm damaged trees needed massive pruning and shaping and they did a good job with that as well as with the trees that had to be take down. Later, when I needed more tree work done, I called them again. Once more they did a wonderful job. My service date is VERY approximate and the amount spent is close to what I spent on the storm damage. I think I spent about that much again when I had more trees removed but it was a while ago and I can't find my receipts. The important thing was that these weren't just guys with chain saws. They are arborists who know how to prune a tree to leave it in the best possible shape. You can't go wrong with Kerns.

I have some beautiful mature trees and have used Kern Brothers 3 times now to trim and maintain the trees in my yard (oak, holly, honey locust) over the last 5 years. Mark their arborist really knows his stuff and has helped me save hundreds of dollars on trees I was ready to remove because I was concerned about them falling on my house. Instead his team has trimmed the trees properly to distribute the load. I'm confident in my recommendation.

Or neighbors hired Kerns Bros. to remove tree branches that had fallen into our yard after a storm and we also asked for an estimate to take care of our storm damage. Unlike many of the other tree companies around here, Kerns has an arborist on staff to make sure that the trees are pruned correctly. From start to finish the Kerns people were professional and courteous. We were very pleased with their work and plan to use them again the next time we need tree work.
