The crew was out at 8 am and by 930am the trees were gone. I would recommend them and definitely use them again.

For arborists I would recommend The Davey Tree Expert. They are excellent. We have several large trees and they have done everything for us. From cabling to cutting down trees, they are very multifunctional and can do anything with trees. They spray the trees for anything that it needs to be sprayed with.

Excellent. Crew was on time, got right to work, was respectful of my neighbors and did an amazing cleanup. Kerns has done a good deal of work throughout my urban neighborhood and their work is always excellent.

I feel great about it. In fact, they also do landscaping, and I had their landscape planner come out to give me a bid just last week on putting back some plants.

During an ice storm, a large limb fell from a tree on my mother's property which grows from the middle of her deck in her backyard and hangs over the house. Another limb was hanging precariously, although it did not fall. Obviously, this needed to be addressed quickly. We called for an estimate on Wednesday, the salesperson (Mike) came early Friday morning. Since we had had another snow fall in the interim, we had to walk through a foot of snow to get back to the tree. Besides the dangling branch, Mike pointed out that the larger branch had a longitudinal crack running the length of it, and this branch hung farther over the house, and listened and commented about other areas I pointed out on the tree, as well as pointing out issues I hadn't noticed. He also explained more about how and where they would trim, and particularly listened to my concerns about the electrical wires running close to that tree (we previously had another tree company knock out the power to the whole neighborhood when branches fell when they worked.) Mike recommended doing the work sooner rather than later, and I agreed. (I received another quote later that same day, and was given a vague week to 10 day time-frame until they might be able to schedule us, after the snow was gone.) When we called Kerns later that day to schedule, the receptionist put us through to Mike to schedule, and he chose the crew, getting us scheduled for the following Tuesday, when it unfortunately snowed, so they had to wait until the next day. Mike came that morning to check as the work was starting, the crew was very experienced, climbing the tree to work (a cherry picker would not have gotten through the fence into the back yard, nor made the next door neighbor happy to have the equipment tear up her grass.) Each branch had a rope tied to it before it was cut, and it was lowered to the ground, so there was no damage at all to the power lines, house, deck, or workers. Although I'm sure it wasn't easy to work in the snow lying all over the ground and deck, they got the work done without a problem, removing all the debris. When they were getting ready to start the other tree (an even bigger oak), it started to rain, thunder and lightning, so they couldn't finish that day. The next day, a different crew came to trim the other tree, and did a good job. However, my neighbor mentioned the next morning that her flood light wasn't working after they had been working over her yard trimming that side of the tree. I called Kerns to tell them the problem, the receptionist called me back within 15 minutes to say Mike was out giving an estimate but he would be there within the hour, he arrived in 15 minutes, spoke with the home owner, looked at the light, and had it fixed by that afternoon. In addition, when he was speaking with the homeowner, he noticed more branches that were left in her yard after the trimming, so he sent another crew back the following week after the snow melted, to clean up any branches left in her yard. I was not only extremely pleased with the work that was done to the trees, the responsiveness of the company to concerns after the work was done (even though it was not for urgent issues) was phenomenal! The price they charged for the job was not far out of line from the other estimate I received, but the service provided was first-rate! I would definitely, without hesitation, recommend this company again!

The rep came out when he said he would, gave me advice as to what to do to save another oak tree and in general looked over the other trees on my property. The price was reasonable and they left the site clean. The rep suggested ongoing tree feeding to keep my oak tree healthy and follows up every year.

Kerns Brothers did a great job. They responded quickly to my intital phone call, came out to see and discuss the work to be done, gave me a formal quote at a very fair price, and completed the work when they they said they would. It was a very good experience. Their representative, Mark Ware, was professional and easy to work with. They did a great job taking the trees down and completely cleaned up the mess. I certainly would use Kerns again and reccomend them as well.

Went very nicely. Pleasure to deal with. Would use again. Had a little miss communication, but that was taken care of right away. Would use again and recommend.

The job was quoted by Davey's arborist and about a week later they were able to schedule the job. The day the work was to be performed the arborist came out to get the crew started. They arrived by 7:15 am and began setting up. The two man crew were both great guys who worked very hard throughout the day to accomplish all the work. They cleaned up all the debris and were very professional. Overall I was very satisfied with the work they had done. They discounted the job $80 with my Angie's List membership. Davey has performed tree trimming on these same Locust's for me before and did a great job last time. They also fertilize the trees annually in the fall which they advised and has helped both of them. Their quality has always been excellent and their arborist knowledgeable. Their foreman was very knowledgeable as well and was able to provide some insight to the insect damage on the large limb they removed. I would recommend them for large jobs esp. those that require climbing and working in tight areas with small back yards such as mine with less than 1/4 acre as well as more advanced work like cabling that they have performed for me before.

Dave was professional and punctual. Generally great to work with. They communicated with me clearly and you were never left wondering what was going on. They provided me with a detailed cost estimate which I thought was fair. I will definately be using them again.

They are professional and the crew works hard to please their customers. I just had Dave come out to my property to give me an estimate to take out two large trees and prune all the trees on my property. They will not be cheap, but they will be good. I have never had a problem with them and they have always performed their jobs well. I have used them for 7 years and I have always been satisfied with the work they've done.

We had some storm damage ... actually a lot of storm damage. Some trees needed to come down and others needed to be shaped. Our neighbors were using Kerns and since some of our trees were on our property and theirs, we decided to use Kerns. They were terrific and we decided to have them back to do some additional work. Once again they did a wonderful job. We were very satisfied with their work.

The experience was wonderful from start to finish. The arborist came out and examined all of our trees. Three needed trimming, one needed to be removed. The crew showed up the following week and within one day cut and removed all the branches. Several stumps were ground down a couple days later and final landscaping work was completed the following day. All the workers were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely use Kern’s again and recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

I was very satisfied with their scheduling and their overall professional attitude. The pricing was competitive with other tree service companies. They did a very good job without damaging any of our other plants or our neighbors' plants.
