To show you how extensive the work was, it took a crew of three people 11 hours to do the work. They were polite and diligent, and checked with me about what/how to do the work when they had questions. They showed good artistic judgement in how they shaped the shrubs, and they visually separated, and trimmed to different heights, the different kinds of shrubs that were growing into each other. The difference from before to after is incredible. Neatly trimmed shrubs, weed-free beds, and thick mulch make a huge difference in how a yard looks. I will definitely use them again for this and other work.

Unfortunately, provider got into argument with my husband calling him names, so had to cancel service.

I called this company, because I am in one state and they are in another. I was going to purchase a Big Deal from them, but because of this I called them first to see if they could come to my location. After I called them, they contacted me the next day. That was important to me with their responsiveness and customer service. Ken Sr. came out and told me what he could do. He was able to do a weed spray treatment and then told me that he would contact his guys. They bought the mulch and they cut the bushes. Two guys came out and it took them about 4 hours; they also did the work on a very hot day. Ken Sr. came out the same day to bring back a shovel that they accidentally took. I have not gotten a bill yet for the service, so I do not know the final cost, but he did give me a rough estimate. As a first-time user of landscaping/mulch/weed spraying... I was a little disappointed that the weeds were returning after a few weeks. But, Ken Sr. explained the process of how weeds work (for a lack of another word). They need constant spraying. My assumption was that once they were sprayed professionally, they'd be gone for good. Lucky for me, I had a weed spray in my shed and shared the brand w Ken Sr. he told me to use it every couple weeks. The price was higher than expected. The deal had gotten my attention but I knew that the work needed surpassed what the deal covered The guys were nice, offered suggestions on planting and tips on spraying. It was really a hot day and it may have taken them longer than expected. Ken Sr. was very accommodating with my concerns.

Ken called ahead since it was Memorial Day weekend, and timing was tight with the weather forecast. He kept in good contact through the week, and his team of two came out and did a great job. Very pleased.

Paul and Katrina were very hard workers under extremely hot and humid circumstances. They weeded and mulched, including pulling out some poison ivy. We will have them come again.

I think the management is positive, and they care about you being satisfied. However, there is something lacking in their system because the guys who came out didn’t have all the equipment they needed because other workers took their stuff for other jobs. One of the guys also didn’t know what he was doing and ruined an area. The rest of what they did was fine, and the guy felt bad about the mistake and reimbursed me to help replace the plants.

I contacted this provider to obtain a quote for landscaping for my property. A woman contacted me with a voice message because I wasn't home at the time and stated that the provider would be in the area for lawn cutting and that she wouldn't be home to accept my return call within the next hour. I called this provider back to set something up for a quote but as of today I have never received any return phone calls from this provider. It appears that this company was more interested in lawn cutting than in doing my landscaping. Nonetheless, I obtained a company to do my landscaping and it wasn't anyone affiliated with Angie's List. I was very much pleased with the service and price that this provider gave to me and his work was completed in a timely manner. I would have serious doubts in considering an Angie's List merchant in the future.

I was looking forward to having Ken's Lawn Service take care of my lawn on a weekly basics. I requested Angie's list special which I didn't receive. They didn't do a good job it looked rushed. On the last lawn cut they didn't edge or trim. I discontinued their services because I wasn't pleased with the quality of their work.

Spoke to Ken on Friday to make to set up appt. I have an e-mail confirmation that he would be here between 11 & 12 Sunday 6-22-14 (see below) When it was almost 2 PM --- I called & his Mom said it was canceled. I didn't cancel or I wouldn't be calling to see where they were. Seems he left a v/m yesterday on my "home phone" which I didn't check b/c I expect people to contact me on my cell for business calls -- he originally contacted me thru my cell -- made the appt thru my cell so why wouldn't he recontact me thru my cell? I always have my cell with me. If he had to cancel -- he should have contacted me from Angie's List - via their e-mail contact info which I would have seen immediately -- He said the $189 was actually paid thru Paypal to Angie's List since he was a subcontractor thru them?? So Angie's List I want an immediate refund & I will contact another company. I expect this kind of behavior from NON-Angie's list contractors which is why I am a subscriber to Angie's List which allows me recourse when a company does not complete the work they were hired to do properly. They were overwhelmed with business which delayed initial response. We were never able to get any information on upgrading our service. Owner was very pleasant on the phone.

They were fantastic. They did a great job. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

It was great. The guys arrived ten minutes early and removed the bush as well as laid fresh mulch which drastically improved the appearance.

The owner's dad answered my service request immediatley and informed me of their services and potential extra costs. He even called me to check on my satisfaction of the workers when they were performing the work. The men came early and started work immediately and were very professional. They did a fabulous job and worked very quickly at removing the collection of wet leaves, weeds and trimming unsightly hedges. It took many hours because this house (which I had just purchased in December) hadn't been maintained for over a year.

Two guys came for two hours. The two that were sent were very nice and courteous. They did what was exactly asked of.

At first we were told it was too far since Angie's List didn't communicate the service address w/ our $169 Big Deal Purchase we found later cost more than KLS' regular $80/two-man hourly rate Angie's List requires marketing as "4 hours labor." Plus add'l fee for hauling away vegetation based on how much of the truck was filled, both days of service costing us the full add'l $100/day. In addition to cutting back severe high weed & lawn overgrowth, they also managed to cut up & remove a fallen tree, saving us trouble & expense of hiring a tree service. And in addition to their haul-away truck requiring towing out of our mud the first day they said they'd bring a smaller truck the second day, their power chain-saw broke & our tenant dented their equipment they didn't charge us for any of. A father/wife/son biz w/ a lot of reviews & customers, they gave us an appointment ahead for when their workers would be available, subject to any rain delay; and later they sent w/ their invoice for our directly-contracted longer second day of work $690 + two $100/each truckloads, a GPS paper validating workers' arrival/departure times. After not being able to determine why our credit cards didn't work by phone with them or via their website, we mailed a credit card check. We would certainly call on KLS again if they'd be willing.

I paid through you and I never received the service I want a refund

I had to get back in touch with Angie's List to get a refund since Ken did service my area. The people from Angie's List took care of this on my next billing. My suggestion to Angie's List was that a person should be able to enter their zip code before purchasing a coupon to make sure the provider will service your area.

They contact me right away. They were professional and very easy to work with. The crew they sent out were very nice and very anxious to do exactly what I wanted.

I purchased the service as one of Angie's big deals through the website. We played some phone tag at first, due to some unavailility on my part. Once the appointment was set, the workers arrived right on time and went straight to work.
