Order on 9-16-14 - Order #1512011 Angie's List - The Big Deal: Here is the Deal: $89.00 for a lawn aeration and OVER SEED package for up to 1/4 acre/11000 square foot. The lawn aeration was done and completed on 9-21-14. Ken's Lawn and Property Service stated that they would NOT honor the OVER SEED package, because it was a mistake in advertising by Angie's List. There was no retraction by Angie's List or Ken's Lawn and Property Service. No phone calls were received on my phone and I have caller ID ,which lists every call. Ken's Lawn and Property Service entered into a contractual agreement. I informed that Ken's Lawn and Property Service either to fulfill the contractual agreement or refund my money.

He was unable to do the service. It was $89 for the first quarter acre and then an additional charge for additional acreage. The owner spoke with me and I accepted this but when his son came out he said it was too large and would hurt their equipment because of the roots. The owner got right back with me and was great but I wasn't given a good impression by the man that came out.

The job was thorough and done professionally.

Waited until the ground was soft. Two workmen. I've aerated lawns myself and it's quite a bit of work to maneuver the equipment. They did a terrific job, i.e., covered all areas (even hard to get corners) and pulled deep plugs.

After speaking with the company, we decided the deal wouldn't work out for me after all. I was looking mostly for aeration and seeding and he wouldn't be able to do that type of work. However, he was very honest with me and gave me advice on what I could do myself which I appreciated.

My lawn was larger then what the company said they can do, even though the deal says 1 acre and the lawn is an acre.

It was fast, efficient, pleasant ! Thank you

Prompt arrival with two guys going over the lawn twice. NICE!

I paid for two hours of service for two guys to do the work. They were on time and finished what could in the time frame I paid for. Their work was amazing and fast. They were so nice and polite as well. Our grass in the back was also trimmed. We would definitely have them come back when we need it more work done.

They were very nice but apparently they start the "labor clock" as soon as they arrive at my address. So the time they are talking/socializing with me, as well as the time theyspent moving their truck was all subtracted from my alloted time through the deal. I ended having to pay for an additional 30 minutes. I did check on them at one point and expected both men to be working, but one man appeared to be taking a break, or at least not performing any work.

They called ahead to remind us of the appointment. Two workers arrived on time, trimmed the bushes and cleaned up.

Since I moved to Wilmington, I have used Ken?s Lawn Service to do fall projects and mow my lawn, but NEVER again!! I am literally flabbergasted at the conversation I had with Vicky, the wife of the owner, Ken. I have never used any other company on my lawn and had never had a problem with their service. They WERE professional, did a good job and WERE pleasant to deal with. That all changed this morning. I had called them about an estimate for core aeration and some winter snow plowing for our development. Vicky called and left me a message that took me weeks to get back to because I have been out of town for a family illness. She said because I took so long to get back to them and because they have given me estimates in the past and I haven?t hired them, I must be shopping for the lowest price and they refuse to come and give me an estimate again. They weren?t interested in my business because Ken?s estimates might be higher because he is licensed and other people aren?t. I said that I had been out of town and have never used someone else. I also explained that I didn?t use their service in the past because I did stuff myself to save money. Anytime we needed anything extra we called them. At that point Vicky said that she could ask Ken if he would be willing to come give an estimate, like it was so awful for him to even think about it, but I said yes, because I had such a good experience in the past. The more I thought about, the more I thought I don?t even want them coming again. I called her back and said that she had left such a bad taste in my mouth and I wasn?t interested anymore. I have never had to beg someone to take my money. I have NEVER had such a horrible customer service experience my whole life. I can?t get over how rude they were. They obviously don?t want business from me, so my advice is take your business elsewhere unless you want to be treated like that too!!! I have already contacted several friends and family that have used them in the past to tell them of my experience and they all said they will never work with them again. I am so disappointed and disgusted!

I purchased the service as a deal through Angie's list. The deal was for four four hours. They contacted me immediately via email, and we set up a date for the work to be done. My schedule changed, and they were very responsive to my need to reschedule, and did so without a problem at all. There were two workers, so they were here two hours. They arrived on time, and started working relatively quickly. They did an excellent job on the hedge, and there should have been time for the complete removal of the bush. However, they said their chain saw was broken, so they spent the remaining time using smaller hand tools and only began cutting it back. The bush still needs to be taken out, so I will have to do it myself. I understand that things can break, but they might be wise to have a spare of something as basic as a chain saw on hand when they go out to do a job such as this. Overall, though, I was happy with the work, and would consider hiring them again.

Two workers, very hard working and helpful. Cleaned out weeds that were totally out of control. Bagged all debris. Gave good advice on what to do next. Worked an extra hour . Would use this company again.

The two gentlemen came on time and did all the work requested within the 2 hour time that was paid for. A couple of days before the owner called to confirm the type of service we wanted, and set the time for the service. We were very happy with the results.

This service team performed beyond expectations. From the minute we bought the service, Ken was quick to get in touch with us, and worked to make sure we got the best deal on Mulch, and worked out a time that worked best for us. He was VERY responsive and helpful, and because of his professional service, and his excellent team, we will definitely use them again. He offered to pick up the mulch to save us money! Talk about customer service. We were already impressed before the 2 fellows even arrived, and they did a very good job. One of the team members even got up on our roof and cleaned out a huge weed that was clogging our gutters. We will definitely use Ken and his team again. Thank you Very much! You really helped us out, and our place looks so nice with the high quality work ( and mulch) you provided.

Chuck and Andy did a great job, the scope of work had to be broken into another trip, as I underestimated the time it would take to clean the beds around the house. They are knowledgeable and hard working. I already have them booked for the return to prune hedges.

Two men as promised arrived 15 min early. Did what was told in a timely fashion. Good experience overall - will use again.

After 3 tries, we finally got a date that worked. They had to cancel out once because another job took longer than anticipated. I had to cancel out another time because of an unexpected doctor appointment. Ken was excellent in communication and followup on the phone and we worked it through so that Chuck and Paul arrived as promised finally on the date chosen. Did 2 hours of work and got all the shrubbery trimming and uprooting done within that time as well as cleaned up well. Easy to work with and hard workers.

They did a very good job. Communication and scheduling was easy and thorough. The employees chuck and Paul worked VERY hard all day and my yards look great. I really appreciate the helpful, honest and considerate way your company has treated my home.

I purchased the "Deal" from Angie's list, which was $189 for 4 hours of landscaping/garden work. Ken called me to talk about the job and I was very surprised to know that he was looking at the property size from Google Earth. This alleviated the need for him to come to the property and look at it in person (very cool feature). He made a date to do the work, came on the scheduled date and time, and his men went to work to do an excellent job of clearing a very overgrown property. They put mulch down and planted 5 bushes (which we purchased) at the completion of the clearing. They removed 2 large pots that were also overgrown and took them away along with all of the debris. I would highly recommend Ken's Lawn and Property Service because they did the job in he allotted amount of time (didn't need extra hours), cleared away all of the debris, and made the property look beautiful. Thanks to Ken and his team for a job well done!!

The service was ok. They trimmed a hedge and cleared some brush. They were efficient in scheduling. I had told them on the phone that I wanted them to trim a small tree, when they got here I showed them the tree and they said the latter they brought was broken. I was annoyed because I had hired them to trim the tree. They did a good job at what they did but I think they would have had enough time to trim the tree had they had the correct equipment.

Everything went very smoothly from questions, scheduling, arrival, actual work, and billing to follow-up questions. The policies of the company were very clearly spelled out, the company worked with me on a date that was convenient for me, the workers were exceptionally nice, the invoice was quite detailed, and my follow-up questions were answered very quickly. The work they did was excellent and when I came out to look they advised me that they were not quite done and to come back out again after they were finished. I would most definitely use this company again.
