Used them for an estimate but went with another company based on price only. On the positive side, I found their office staff and the salesman to be responsive, professional, punctual and flexible. They scheduled at my convenience and the salesman arrived on time. He took his time looking over the existing (oil) setup and calculating what he thought I would need for the new (gas) setup. He was patient and willing to answer all of my questions fully, and was not pushy or aggressive in any way. The only negative was that their bid was the highest - and significantly so - of the four I obtained for this project. However, I would definitely ask them for a bid on any future work I consider.

I don't remember the price but it was reasonable. My only issue was that when they were cutting into my drop ceiling in the basement, they made a few bad cuts and just put the material back in and it didn't look nice. All in all i was happy. I moved to a new house in 2005 but I have no service contract as of yet (brother in law was doing checkups) but am planning to call Calvert and have them give me a quote.

They scheduled the appt. for the very day I called, which was impressive. However, when Jon, the technician arrived, he said the unit was completely iced over and we would have to leave it turned off until the next day when he would return to evaluate the unit. He arrived the next day at exactly the scheduled time. However, he was unable to find anything wrong with the air conditioner, and proceeded to tell us that we needed a new furnace. I said that another company had recently been out to look at the rusted out area of the furnace and had told us it was just the casing that was rusted and nothing needed to be replaced. Jon asked who had come and when I told him he said you can't compare them to him - he is a professional with 12 years experience and that other company hires drug users off the streets. He said they weren't even a legitimate company - whatever that means - as we've been using them for oil delivery and cleanings for 18 years. Anyway, back to the air conditioner problem. Jon told us that the air conditioner was installed wrong, couldn't be fixed, and it couldn't possibly have ever worked. I argued that I've lived in this house for 18 years and never had a single issue with the air conditioning which I use A LOT until that day. He continued to argue that it couldn't possibly have ever worked. He said no one would be able to fix it and I would need a new one. I asked how much a new one would cost and he said he couldn't tell me, because I would hate him. I told him that I didn't like his attitude and the way he bad-mouthed the competition and his response was "Well you can't please everyone all the time. That will be $99". However, he is in a service field, so I disagree - if you don't please people, you won't continue to have a business. Fortunately since turning my A/C back on, I haven't had any problems - but then again, I have to remember that it isn't even working according to Jon!

They came on a Sunday when out 23 year old Centeral A/C died and replaced a couple cheap parts and did not recharge system as it would be too expensive if we chose to replace the system. The system died again which was expected with in 2 weeks so we were glad we did not pay to charge the system as reccomended not to charge it would have been a waste of money. Calvert was great they gave us a window unit for the couple of days it took before they could get to our house to replace the unit. The Techs that came to the house were very perfessional and polite overall a great experience. We had an issue with our Condo and the way the condensation drainage was routed out of the condo. Calvert was wonderful upon our inspection they fixed what our Condo Assocation required no questions asked and at no extra expense to us . Over all it was a good experience and will use them again for all our HVAC needs.C

Didn't work, and wouldn't refund, but would apply part to replacement system. However, unit only 9 years old, but they insisted on replacement. Price wwas much higher than anyone else. Eventually got unit fixed by another provider.

I was happy from my call to the company, the same day service and the professionalism of the technician. My only concern was the additional $99 that was charged in addition to the labor and parts.

They charge $99 to come out and look and that's not even applied to your balance if you decide to purchase something. I decided to have them come out anyway, based on good reviews here. The guy was very nice, and seemed very well informed as to how the system worked. He seemed very forthright. He hooked up a machine to my heater and said it was fine. He took measurements for the flue piece and said he was going to email or call with a price. However, he couldn't answer my question about moving vents (and I had told the scheduler what I wanted to ask), so he scheduled another guy to come out the next day to give me price for all the work together. The next guy was also nice. I think he said $1,150 or something, to move the two vents, and change the flue. I decided not to get work done by this company because I got a better price elsewhere. I never heard from the first guy about the price for just the flue, which is the one thing I was sure I wanted done. I probably would have bought that and a cleaning/tune up if I'd heard back from him.

All work was done in one day (8 am to 4 pm). All my flooring and stairs to the basement were covered before they started any work. A second truck delivered the appliances, unpacked them in the driveway, removed all the packaging, cleaned up and left. No "downtime" or wasted time on the job. They replaced the foundation under the compressor unit in the yard, before they installed the new unit. The "intake and exhaust" pipes are flush to the outside wall and covered with a louvered plate that looks very nice. No "gooseneck" type pipes sticking out of the wall like some I've seen. A week after the work was done, they sent a company inspecter to check the work done.......and the county also sent an inspector to check also. Both commented on the "nice job" done!

They are punctual and professional.

They were extremely good. Friendly, explained stuff to me, and suggested calling my insurance company to have them cover part of the cost. They cleaned up very good as well.

Always professional, prompt service . Knowledgeable service staff, friendly on the phone. Never feel like you getting taken advantage of and that is why we switched over to Calvert from another local company. Service staff always show you what they did. Very pleased.

The process was quick fast and in a hurry, I was pressing for time, the job was started early that morning and it was done NLT 1:00pm.

I got bids from 4 various HVAC contractors. What made the difference was that Calvert was thorough in evaluating the system I needed. They went through the house looking at my present system and pointing out what would be necessary with a new system to make it more comfortable and efficient. While the other contractors also went through the house it seemed they packaged a lesser AC with a very efficient furnace to lower their price. They also didn't pay attention to my electrical panel box or duct work. Calvert not only packaged a great HVAC system for me, their price was a little lower. It was a two day job and they came promptly, had their electrical sub contractor scheduled properly to coincide with their work. Everything went well without a hitch from beginning to end. The workers were courteous, professional and skilled. At the end of the job, they went through the operation of everything, gave me all the equipment manuals and cleaned up thoroughly.

I was satisfied with the overall experience. They were all trained service people. They had good brands that we liked at a good price. They were probably the easiest to deal with.

They are good. The service was gratis. I belong to their service plan and it is $12.95 a month. They come out and check the air-conditioner and they check the heater in the winter. I thought their employees were excellent. There was a young man that used to work for them at one time and he lived at the back of my house. That's how I found them. They are not cheap, but they are not the most expensive either. They are reasonable. I had been using another company and I found their prices to be just absolutely outrageous. That is why I switched to Calvert. Their quality is excellent. I have never had any problem with any of the people that have come here. I have never had a problem getting hold of anybody in the company. They are probably tied up with the plumbing company in some way or another.

After so many years of maintaining it, they told me I needed to replace my unit. I asked them for an estimate and they told me it would be $3000. I was not satisfied with that price, so I shopped around to see what others had to say. I got the job done from someone else who quoted me 1/2 of what Calvert did. More over when the guy came out to try and fix my unit originally, he had a manual in his hand which to me, seemed a bit incompetent in his work. He then had to call over his friend and even with him there, they could not figure out my furnace. The guy I had before them had no problem with it.

The AC on our 5 year old heat pump died suddenly on a Thursday. By the time I figured out it was the compressor and I wasn't going to fix it myself it was Friday night. I emailed Calvert that night along with a number of other HVAC contractors. I was contacted early Monday and was told that they wanted both my wife and me to be present for the estimate and quote. I was not pleased about that, since it was both inconvenient and typical of a pressure sale scenario. Communication was a bit confused, but finally got time set up for an estimate Thursday evening. I was running late and couldn't make the appointment, but my wife liked the estimator, who provided a professional and competitive proposal for the work. They ended up as my second choice of the five contractors that bid on the job.

They are phenomenal people. The integrity of the company stands out. Their price was slightly lower than one of the other quotes. I have never seen two more polite, hardworking, knowledgeable young men than the technicians who came to do the work. It took them over ten hours, and they worked straight through. They were wonderful in explaining everything that I needed to know about the system. They were terrific. I would recommend them to anyone. Within a week or two after the installation was done, they sent a different tech out to check their work. It took him close to two hours to go through and check everything. I thought that was something.

My air conditioner was dead. I called in the morning, and the sales person was there that afternoon. He was informative and did not try to sell me more than I needed. I had had two other quotes and his was the most reasonable. The installation was scheduled for 2 days after I signed the contract. The techs arrived promptly and worked professionally to complete the job. They answered any questions I had. I received a follow-up call from the company. Overall, it was a very pleasant and easy experience.

I had a new heating and AC system installed in August of 2010. The work was done quickly, cleanly and on budget. The installation techs were courteous and informative, and I was kept apprised of progress during the job. After the job was complete, they took the time to walk me through the system, including how to program my thermostat. Additionally, they were also extremely honest. During the loading of my furnace at the warehouse, it received a small dent, and the gentlemen installing the unit noticed it when they brought it down to begin the install. I would not have realized this if the install techs had not pointed it out. They offered me either a discount or a new unit. Since it was clear the dent was extremely minor and only cosmetic, I chose the discount. I would not hesitate to recommend Calvert for basic maintenance of your system, or use them for purchase and installation of a new one. They are competitively priced, and you cannot beat the customer service.

The work was performed very well except they forgot to plug in one of the parts. I had a leak here for a few days that I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. They come 24 hours a day if I have a problem which I did. I called at 10 o'clock at night and there was someone here at 11 o'clock that night to fix it.

He said he had to go back to the office and email me the presentation. This was on Thursday. I get an email with the formal presentation from him on Monday or Tuesday. I replied right away and asked him who to call so I could make the down payment arrangements. He never responded. I sent him another email advising him that I was ready to go and when could we schedule this. He never responded. My life is busy enough and I don't have time to chase down someone that obviously doesn't want my money. I had money in hand and was ready to pay him a fifty percent down payment. I ended up going with Joseph Frederick and sons which will replace the unit for a thousand dollars less than Calvert.

Chris, the HVAC technician from Calvert, found the problem in about five minutes. The pipe that discharges water was backed up and needed a thorough cleaning. Also, there was a faulty switch. Chris took the time to explain the problem and how to fix it. He was polite and left his work area clean. I felt the price was fair and the work was definiterly comleted in a timely mannner. Good job.
