Flame-Tech showed up when they said they would and immediately covered everything in my living room with drop cloths. You could tell they knew what they were doing and did a very professional job. I have already noticed a difference in the temperature of my living room w/o even having the gas logs on. With gas logs on, I am able to almost heat my whole house. I am very satisfied with the job and would use them again if needed.

Pointed out the blower can run on 2 D size batteries iif the ACpower is out. Price is $199.99 and $60.00 for over 1 hour travel time to my house. The gas fireplace now runs great with heat in 10 minutes warm up time before blower come on. Technician very friendly and professional, removed his shoes at my front door. and left no sign he had been here.

The receptionist had to confirm that they would travel to my location - about hour drive or 60 highway miles - and stated she could give me an appointment the following week. There would be a $60 travel fee plus the cost of the service $89 for a total of $150. I agreed and she gave me an appointment with a 2 hour window in the afternoon. They promised to call me the day before the service to confirm and did so. The technician arrived within the appointment window. A young man named Jake who was polite and friendly. While he took some time to inspect the unit, I asked lots of questions, all of which he answered in a professional and competent manner. He was obviously very knowledgeable of this type of unit and went into detail on operation, precautions and user maintenance. He demonstrated how to light the pilot and operate the control valve and watched while I operated the unit. He was able to locate a model number and shortly after he left I had a user manual that I downloaded from the internet. I don't think he was here more than 30 minutes or so, and left me a card in the event I had questions or needed further assistance. He also explained that the newer technology that is available is much more efficient, and suggested that when I replace this unit I look at some of the equipment his company installs. Total cost was exactly what was estimated. In all I was very happy with the company and the service tech. I would use them again and plan to do so. I would also recommend them to others.

Based on Angies' List, we contacted flame-tech to obtain a quote for a fireplace insert. Having just moved to the area, we were familiar with the cost of the insert in Maryland, but not with a company. We contacted flame-tech by email. A representative quickly responded and we set up an appointment. The individual answering the phones was always courteous and helpful. She would communicate utilizing phones and email. The flame-tech salesman came out to our house, inspected the fireplace and we reviewed our options. The price of the installation included extending our gas-line and running 120V line into the fireplace. The price was competitive. The installers arrived as scheduled though we rescheduled a few times due to our conflicts and a hurricane. The installers put-down blankets to protect our carpet. For a dirty job, they were clean. The installation took about 6 hours. The installation went as planned and we are very satisfied with Flame-tech as well as the Regency full view fireplace.

Mechanic was on time, courteous and respectful of our home

As previously stated, everything went well and was done on time. Flame-Tech scheduled everything from start to finish and was very helpful throughout.

Two technicians showed up to our residences exactly on time. Very professional. At our first residence, they took their shoes off and kept the area around the fireplace clean as they were working. They were very thorough. It was $89 to just come out to the house plus $199.99 for the 20 point inspection and service. Total approximately $300 which I felt was very fair for the work performed. At our second residence, we had a gas stove unit that we bought in 1997 that had not had a lot work in some time. We had seen a decline in the operation of certain functions of the unit especially over the last 2-3 years and everything the technician Bill told us made sense as to why it was occurring. We paid the $89 for Flame Tech coming out but we are currently in discussions with them and will probably buy a new unit which will be more efficient and less costly than what we need to do to repair our current gas stove. Bill was also very knowledgeable about safety items such as the venting and carbon dioxide concerns. Would highly recommend them.

The responsiveness and professionalism I experienced with Flame Tech was great.

They are pretty upscale. I would recommend them for cleaning, however, they are pretty expensive.

I have a gas fireplace and they repaired my switch for turning it on and off. They also provided yearly maintenance and cleaning on my log set. They will also do touch up paint if needed. They are very professional and punctual. I think the price is high but is probably fir for the skills they have. They are very careful and the quality of work is very good. They are very good at communicating with you on the service they are providing an any recommendations.

They told me that I needed a part that they no longer manufactured. They couldn't do the work because the fire place was so old. They were up-front with me and provided a few other options for the future. I thought they were professional and punctual.

They immediately assessed the problem with my fireplace. As it turns out, it was an emergency. Within an hour and a half, they had someone here, and he took care of the problem. They did a great job. They charged an $89 fee to come out and assess the problem, but they ended up applying that charge to the cost of the repair. We spent close to $1000 on the whole job. I would definitely recommend them to other people. They knew when I called them that I was concerned that I could smell gas coming out of the fireplace. They didn’t just leave me here after they had diagnosed the problem. They told me I needed to call the fire company to get the gas turned off. Then they called one of their contractors. He immediately left his other job that was not an emergency, and came over here instead. To me, that showed real concern for my safety. They made sure my family was safe. Originally, they said it would take 4 hours to fix the problem. But they were out of here in an hour and a half. Other companies that I had dealt with before charged me just to come out and do a normal check of the system. They would charge me separately for the visit and also for anything that needed to be replaced. This company absorbed the cost of the visit into the total cost of the repair. They were also here exactly when they said they would be. We’re getting ready to sell our house and I’ve made up a packet for the new buyer that includes a list of service people that we have used and would recommend. I’ve included Flame-Tech on that list.

My tech was Bill Buckley who was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He showed up within the time frame given for service on our gas fireplace which is 11 years old and having issues. After running the diagnostic testing, he performed the 20 pt. cleaning (which included painting), replaced the embers, replaced the pilot assembly and replaced the wiring and switch. He explained everthing before he did anything and didn't try to "sell" me anything. He explained it all to me and let me make the decision on how much I wanted him to do. The fireplace looks like new and is working perfectly now. Thank you Bill for a great job.

The service person was very professional and made every effort to keep my home clean while he was performing his job. He gave me the total up front cost of the job that needed to be done. He arrived with in the time limit that was specified when the appointment was made.

The service was provided by Bill Buckley who was very professional. He covered all the working surfaces and explained every step. He also removed some rust at the end to make my fireplace look like new again. I was extremely pleased with his service.

Overall we were impressed with the installation (and the product). Our house is toasty (today is February 17) They showed up on time with each appointment. They took off they shoes when they entered the house, and they laid down giant blankets to keep things neat. They vacuumed and left the place as clean as they found it. We had shopped around a bit for a unit, and we went with Flame-Tech for a couple reasons. Here's why: * they were slightly cheaper. Not much, but about 5% cheaper. * they came out to the house to measure and consult - the other vendor would eventually (after you chose a unit) to make sure everything fit. We found the consultation helpful, and we would not have picked an appropriate unit. * they took care of everything. The other vendor had you call a separate plumber, which we didn't want to do. * they did everything within 2.5 weeks of ordering the insert. The other vendor gave us a 6-8 week window. A couple other notes of things that I was impressed by: * after getting back to the shop after we ordered our unit, the tech from Flame-Tech realized we would need a riser for the unit, as well an additional piece of the framing. The extra framing costs additional money - they picked up the tab since they missed it. * while installing the venting atop the roof, they realized that we had a split flue (instead of a single flue). They had another technician bring out the proper cap to fit the chimney. I never have gone on our roof, and they could have rigged anything up there. * the fireplace was installed on Thursday, and we had it on until we went to bed (to burn off the new insert residue) and all day Friday. We went away for the weekend, and we when we came back, our regular heat wasn't working. We figured it hadn't worked since Thursday (the insert worked fine). We called our HVAC person, who came out and turned the regular heater back on. Since our furnace is right below the fireplace in the cellar, it was probable that a wire was bumped. Flame-Tech apologized and reimbursed us for the HVAC service call.
