How did it go?? Not good. I hited local from DE even though I found better rated companies from PA area. After a 10 minute inspection for a “diagnostic service” worth $120... the tech said that I needed work done that will cost $600. That includes a recommended full service. I declined the full service and asked for just a repair on the burner (pilot worked). The tech seemed knowledgeable and trained - not just in fireplaces but also on how to respond to overpriced parts and service charges. I was told that i can either pay him $120 for the 10 minute job or $600 for what he recommends. Gave it some thought and decided to let him do the work. Took less than an hour. They even charged me $30 for a $5 switch and ended up using my switch plate after wiping it down. Maybe I should start a fireplace service shop for that kind of money... but I guess I won’t be able to sleep well at night. Recommend: NO Hire again: Absolutely not!! You’ve been warned... PEACE! ✌🏻

It was a good experience from the start. The customer service representative who answered my call was pleasant, professional, and efficient. I was surprised to get an appt. within a few days of my call. Nick was the tech who responded. He explained everything step by step through his visit. He spent an hour looking over the entire unit rather than suggesting a "quick fix" like the previous repairman. I could have had my unit up an running for about $150, but I opted for the 24 point cleaning and maintenance package which increased the cost by about $200. We have lived in the house for 5 years, and the gas fireplace has been one of our favorite features. However, we didn't know it could look so good until Nick worked his magic. We will be signing up for the service contract which seems to be an especially good deal. This relatively small business seems to really have its act together.

I asked them to come out to for estimate for a fireplace screen. They wouldn't do the job, but still wanted to charge me for the estimate. But when I called to say that I didn't think the charge was justified they agreed and said they would not charge me.

well; I still need to replace the insert but they tried to do what they could to ensure that the insert and vent pipes were the issue

I thought our bad experiences in the past with Flame Tech were just flukes. Apparently they are always late...very, very late. My husband cleared his morning schedule so we could plan multiple companies to take care of the house today. Another local business, which has always been a stellar water system maintenance company for us, came in their two hour morning window, finished quickly and were very friendly. If you prefer to use friendly, prompt, local businesses, however, beware of Flame Tech, especially if you have a job or anywhere to be during the day. Not only did they only offer a 5 hour window of time for them to come (8am-1pm is their "morning" window), they didn't even arrive until after 1:30pm and didn't call to say they would be late until after the window passed. The work wasn't completed until almost 3pm. We are never late for our appointments, and their lack of respect for our time is even worse than most companies with large windows of time. The assistant on the phone constantly cut me off while trying to explain why I was frustrated and had no helpful information to pass on to me. The owner, who was the technician we waited on for five and a half hours, was simply defensive rather than apologetic for wasting so much time. I wish I could say you get what you pay for, but Flame Tech is also very expensive for what you get. I understand that it is difficult to know how long each job will take, but a seasoned company should have a pretty good idea, and over-scheduling is unacceptable in my mind. We strongly support our local businesses, but we do not support any business that will so consistently and unapologetically show such unprofessionalism in their business practices. We will not be using this business again and will spread the word.

The service went great. We love our new fireplace. They even restored the cedar and did it perfectly in the mantel. A crew of five came out and completed the work over 2 days. They did what they said they would, were quick, efficient and cooperative. They stopped the chimney from leaking and replaced the liner. They also capped the chimney. They sold us new logs. They were very patient to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I had no problem scheduling the service.

I called because my direct vent natural gas fireplace started leaking water into the box and through the basement when it rained, and the ignition switch stopped working. Flame Tech made two service calls over a one month period and my fireplace is in good shape. I would recommend them and use them again.

Excellent! Installation took about 5 hours. I just love the stove and it reduced my oil consumption by $1500 last year. It also kept me much warmer and toastier (always 72-80 degrees) than I ever would have afforded with oil. It does take some work hauling and splitting some wood. I expect it will pay for itself in 3 years, plus add value to my home.

Bill, the owner, was wonderful. He showed me how dirty it was and the reason for same. He cleaned the entire fireplace including the glass door. He spread a tarp before starting and left the area very clean. He explained what each control did and the do's and don'ts of using it.

They are awesome. I went with them because when they came out and did the estimate they were just really good and really knowledgeable. They were just honest about everything. They showed me better ways to do stuff. I hope I don’t need a fireplace again.

Bill from Flame-tech was more than helpful with every question and concern I had. Instead of just "selling" me a product he was completely honest from his years of experience in what to utilize. The company was too far for me to get to so Bill went online and found a dealer that he knew in my area and could recommend so that I would get the same service. I could not be more happy with the long and informative conversation that we had. I wish I lived closer to Delaware.

Jake from the company was very courteous and knowledgeable and took the time to explain to me exactly what he was doing. He took his time and did a great job.

The tech first arrived on January 27th. He did all of the work except replace the glass as it needed to be ordered. The fellow was very professional and left the area very clean. The second representative arrived on the 7th of February to replace the glass. We were on our third day without power and heat and my husband had come home on the day before from major surgery and was very cold. The tech had the fire going immediately and did a wonderful job replacing the glass in the very cold house. We were so thankful to finally be warm next to our working fireplace. I would highly recommend this company. The were very professional and made numerous safety repairs on parts that a former service company had installed improperly.

The repair man came, and NO they don't fix gas leaks. I paid $90.00 for him to tell me this. NEVER will us this service again.

We had them come out to clean, inspect and tune-up 2 different gas logs, in home we just purchased. Did great job. Family Room fireplace is great. We decided to remove the older gas logs in the Living Room fireplace, as they would have had to install a permanent clamp to keep the damper open - per state law. We decided that keeping the damper open would not be cost effective, so we had them remove old gas logs. It is now a wood burning fireplace. They did a great job on removal, left house very clean. Would definately recommend using them. Will use again.

This was a fantastic job. Turns out we had a gas insert in a standard wood burning fireplace. We needed to replace the system that wasn't working. The tech gave me the choices and explained many aspects of the installation so we got it right. The final installation looks so real my wife thought we now have a wood burning fireplace in our formal living room! (Not what she wanted). We love the way it looks now. Call these gentlemen at "Flame-Tech" and go no further, they are the ones to get the job done perfectly. Thanks Bill !!

. Bill's arrival was delayed due to an unforeseen issue at the service call before me. The team contacted me to give me an update. I was glad for the information and felt that my service call would be equally thorough. When the service tech arrived, Bill, he took his shoes off at the front door and had the cutiest orange and black FLAM-TECH socks on. When I purchased the house I did not receive all the owners manuals for the appliances and Bill was concerned about log placement and 'embers'. He gave me model number and I Googled the respective Majestic Fireplace. Located Log Placement in the manual, however, my fireplace is 10- years old and the online manual was for more current fireplaces. Bill was not deterred. he called the Majestic Vendor from his cell phone and was able to get the appropriate Owners Manual sent to my email and his email. I printed off the 4 pages he needed and he continued with the service. He replaced the batteries in my remote, showed me the features of the remote, vacuumed/cleaned the glass and did his service magic. Bill re-assured me that although the log placement was incorrect that at no point was I in danger from the fireplace, it was more of an aesthetic issue. The correct log placement and embers look so much better!!! The area in front of the fireplace was draped with a drop-cloth and he used a small shop vac during the service visit. There wasn't a speck of dust upon his departure!! I learned, when I tried to give Bill a tip for going above and beyond, that he was the owner and he respectfully declined the monetary tip. I have created a folder for FLAM-TECH and they will be on the annual service maintenance call list for next year! I used the fireplace last night, Sunday, 10/20/13 and it was such a pleasure to see the flame and embers and know that the fireplace was safe and properly serviced! Rock on Flam-TECH and Bill!

When Billy was pricing the various items, electricity and the gas were separate items so that we might want to use our own contractors, which we didn't. But that was a nice thing to offer. We opted for certain customized features, and Billy told us what the different prices would be with and without those added features. Once we decided on everything, we had a little extra wait because of the custom features. When the crew came they left the area spotless. Billy stated back to explain how the unit could be work with the remote and with manual switches at the unit itsel

All workers were punctual and efficient. They cleaned up after work was performed. Not all work was completed. Chimney not cleaned or lining removed as originally ordered because they said it was not cleanable with the equipment they had. Price for the work performed seemed excessive.

Arrived on time . Serviced unit and replaced rheostat. No charge since we are covered by their annual service agreement.

Tom Garfield, the Flame-Tech expert was truely a gem from start to finish. He explained every aspect of my fireplace as he worked , and educated me on its safe usage and maintainance. Took his time , answering all my questions. It was obvious that he loves his job. It was hard to locate a qualified fireplace expert, but he sure is a great find. My fire looks 100 times prettier now, and I'm enjoying it so much more. I highly recommend Tom!
