Their plumber came and replaced a valve in a toilet.  My wife was the one at home at the time and the plumber did a good job.  However, the price seemed very high for the job.  I called and the receptionist explained that a Service Manager would call me back to discuss.  Never received a call back from Boulden.  I guess they do not want to explain their inflated price.  Believe they took advantage of the situation.  Will not use them again.

I called them when I got home from work on the 26th of November and was told them could not come out and do the repair until 12/2/14 as that was their next scheduled time available. Since I have been with them for a few years I was suprised that with no heat during a fairly cold time this was not something that could be addressed sooner. they did come out on the 2nd and I took the $572 option (which was just replacing the part) and it has worked fine since.
I also had an experiencee with them on 10/16/14 when they came out to do a plumbing inspection. This time the person actually advised me againist getting the work done as the water heater was 14 years old and probably needs replacing and would be just a waste of money. I appreciated the honest assessment but the price quoted was $1,520 which seems excessive for a new water heater. As of this time I am looking around for other pricing options from other providers. However, since I pay them close to $400 a year for my maintenance agreements I would expect better from them.

"Thanks you for the review. I'm sorry we didn't meet your expectations. When we find components that could effect the reliability of your system, we feel it is important to bring it to your attention. Unfortunately, we never know if it will last for a day, a month or a year. We can only let you know we are concerned. We then like to give you all of the options so you can choose what is best for you. I'm sorry the part failed, and you feel the timing is suspicious. I can assure you we don't have a way of making a working system stop running a couple of weeks after we leave. We should have responded sooner when the system stopped working. I apologize for that. We have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, so if there is anything I can to meet that please call me. As for the water heater, our plumber was correct to advise you not to invest in at 14 year old water heater. With the average life being 10 to 12 years, it doesn't make sense to spend much money on it. I'm sorry you were disappointed with the price. We are not always the lowest, but we are competitive with the full service plumbers. You can rest assured that with Boulden Brothers, we will provide the best warranties and guarantees, and have the high level of insurance to protect you. We will also always make sure a permit is pulled and everything is installed to the current code standards. As an example, we always install an expansion tank because it is a new requirement. It makes the job more expensive, but it is required to protect you. If I can help you in any way, please call me at 302-224-4928. Tim Boulden"

On April 3rd, 5-6 hour install took over 8 hours.  2 installers worked continuously during that time with only a brief lunch break. When job was completed, Installer advised if furnace was too noisy, additional adjustment may be needed involving cutting a large opening in front of furnace to increase air flow to the furnace (as we understood it).  Weather in April didn't allow opportunity for furnace to run often so we could not determine if it was noisy for several weeks.  When we decided it was too noisy we called Boulden to have them send someone out to make the recommended adjustment.
Different installer was sent out (were told later that previous was on vacation) who disputed the recommendation.  We became very upset as we had only reluctantly had Boulden install this new furnace because they had installed the previous furnace & we had had some unsatisfactory incidents with them over the years.  We sent 2nd installer away.
Long story short, we contacted Mr. Boulden who made it right.  He explained that the original installers should have contacted a supervisor or himself for advice before making the original recommendation so felt it was a training issue which he would be addressing.  He would send out a supervisor to assess the situation & correct the noise situation without additional cost to us.
Supervisor came out, assessed the situation, explained why the 1st recommendation to correct the noise issue was not in code/safe (furnace is located right beside the propane water heater so opening in front of furnace would allow possibility of air contamination, again, as we understood it) & we agreed that he would send a technician back at the end of the A/C season to correct the noise situation by adding additional air flow to the furnace via an additional air return duct running from the side of the furnace into our living room.  The additional work was completed on 8/5/14 & it corrected the noise situation.
All of the additional work was done at no additional cost to us which was a major concern to us.  The 2014 annual maintenance inspection (which we had paid for in 2013 for the old furnace) was completed on 11/26/14, all is well & we are satisfied.
We believe the cost was high because in 2013 family in suburbs northwest of Chicago had both new furnace & A/C installed in a larger home for approximately $3500.

It went very well from beginning to end. We had done business with Morevent previously and have now partnered with Mr. Sparky. Morevent came to the location and spent time reviewing our requirements in a very thorough manner. Morevent then met with Mr. Sparky to provide a quote. The quote provided two options. After reviewing the quote we chose a 15 kw honeywell generator. Since it ran on propane we contacted Taylor oil and propane to install a propane tank. After that was install I contacted Mr Sparky to arrange an installation date. Thay worked with Taylor to have them on site for the connections with the generator. James from Mr. Sparky arrived in the morning and reviewed how the installation would proceed. It went very smoothly. The generator can now back up everything in the house except the range and dryer. That exceeded our expectations.

On a Sunday we called Mister Sparky for emergency electrical service as our DIY efforts went poorly.  They said we would be put on the list and contacted when someone could come out (initial call around noon).  At about 6 pm we called them back and told we were still on the list and they would let us know.  At 8 pm we received a call telling us their on call electrician had an emergency and wouldn't be able to make and would we like to schedule for Monday.  That seemed fine, people have emergencies, so we scheduled for Monday 2-4 pm.  The electrician never showed up.  After calling at 4:30 pm we were told they could come immediately, but we had other things to do, so we scheduled for Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the electrician arrived, and was very apologetic.  The were very nice and ended up not charging us for any of the service.
Moral of the story, it takes a good deal of effort to get them to come out, they do a respectable job, but it did take him several hours to install a total of 8 light switches.

ebInstalled pipes and sewer for a new bathroom. i got several estimates
and while they were not the lowest, I had trouble getting the smaller
companies to actually do the work. The work went well, they were on time
and competent. i am annoyed at their attempts to bleed me for more
money by trying to charge me for other estimates.

The job overall went well, however the price was grossly inflated.  Unfortunately the job was done before I could discuss the pricing.  The price was well over 2 times what any other electrician would charge me.  Doug Martin - Insurance Adjuster.

These people are crooks. My father needed a new hot water heater so he called this place. I happened to go visit while they were there. He tried to charge my father $1,200.00 for a standard hot water heater that would cost $325. I told him to leave and went the next day to Sears to purchase one for $325. They tried to charge my father $60 for coming out.

I contacted them based on reputation and due to a leaking emergency.  The service was performed well.  However, there was a leak from the water main meter.  They responded quickly and resolved the problem with no further issues or additional cost.  I felt the price was a little steep, but they were professional, guaranteed their work, and responded to my need quickly.

I have called and complained to the assistant manager- who "promised" to tell the general manager.  Guess what, he didn't.  I had to explain it again when no one ever called me back.  I cannot tell you how strongly I feel about this company.
