Because of the weather and the size of the roof, they sent two crews out and finished the house in two days. This was in the winter time, it was severe weather and they got it done very quickly.

I was involved in finding and hiring this contractor and tried to keep abreast of what was happening while my husband managed most of the details, so some info might not be fully accurate, but it is close. Contacts were made long distance since the work was done on an out of state home while we could not be present for the estimate and thought we might not be there for the installation. There are not many roofers listed on Angie's List for the Dover, DE area, but I found Bayside with a couple positive reviews from awhile ago. Two bids were very high and two were reasonable and close in price. Bayside's owner was very easy to work with and contacted us right after he did the estimate. He answered all questions and seemed like a true, honest contractor. I've read an Angie's List article that you should try to have a 10 yr workmanship warranty, but the contractors we contacted warranted for much less than that. Partial payment was made upfront by check. We were not in a hurry for work to be done, plus there was a major heatwave that delayed the start of work. When my husband contacted the owner he was given a window of when they would start work. The window slipped a little, which was actually fortunate, because family could be on site for much of the work. I know Bayside's owner was on site the first day but I can't comment on how much time he was on the site during the whole job. The workers were polite and hard working and kept the work site safe. The part of the roof I saw during the job looked excellent. Architectural shingles by GAF (a leader in shingles) looked great. I do not know what the shingle warranty is. The job was not finished yet, but the work materials were neatly kept out of the way during the weekend.The final payment was due at the end of the job by check.The job took about 5-6 days. I assume cleanup was good, because I did not hear anything from our neighboring cousin. We would recommend talking to Bayside if you need any roofing done. We already recommend Bayside to our cousin next door who got an estimate that seemed fair to me judging by what we paid. I don't know if he's having the work done.

I obtained the Bayside Roofing number off of Angie's List on 4/18/11. I called the company and spoke to the owner while he was on a roof doing repairs for another customer. He called me back in about an hour and responded to my home THAT EVENING. He went onto the roof, examined the problems and provided me an estimate for the repairs. The work was completed by 4/25 and was done professionally and fixed the problem. This house is only 2 years old and we discovered the company that did the original roofing went out of business...imagine that! My wife and I were amazed that this contractor came to our home the same day of the call and performed excellent work as stated and for the price quoted. I can tell you that this type of service is a bit unheard of in our area. Simply outstanding customer service and they showed us all of the items they repaired. I highly recommend this company.

Bayside was referred to me by a friend. I originally called for a roof leak, but knew I wanted an estimate on replacing shingles. I called John and he came out right away and gave an estimate and date they could start the job. The crew completed the job on time - in between blizzards - and cleaned up and hauled away the old shingles. The crew was very professional and did a great job. I will contact him again if I need any roofing work completed. I've referred him to several other friends.
