I would think twice before using this company.

Stay Away. Company is a rip off! Incompetent in every way. Owner and sale person are a joke. Incompetent crew. Craftsmanship is horrible! Just read the reviews! Save yourself a nightmare! I have lots of photos of work they do.

Was erected in a professional manner and completed in 2 days.

Awesome job on our deck; fast, efficient and excellent craftsmanship and cleaned up every day. Couldnâ t believe they worked so hard in this heat. Sal was very knowledgeable and always available. Would recommend them highly.

These people will ignore your texts and outright lie to you. I have many specific examples of them telling me outright lies. My deck took a year from contract signing to obtaining my final inspection. Of those 365 days they were only on the property and doing work for 26 days. There are still unresolved issues that I want them to correct and I am withholding final payment until they do so. They left construction trash in my yard for months and months and only cleaned up after I complained. They told us for months the county had not approved our permit and after calling the permit office I found out the permit had not even been submitted. There were times when we did not see anyone for up to 2 months and when they did show up they did so without notice. They failed the footer inspection due to lack of proper paperwork on site and had to dig out 2 footers for the inspector to see it had been done correctly. Their logistics was terrible. For instance they waited until the last minute to order siding which was becoming difficult to get. Then the project stopped for over a month and my house was left exposed to the elements before a source for siding was found. I had to get up on a ladder myself and cover some area with plastic and tape to prevent rain damage. Why they did not order siding when the project sat idle for 2 months is a mystery. I can not stress enough how uncommunicative this company was. We would go weeks and months of them ignoring our texts and phone calls. After a year I finally filed a complaint with the BBB and my county. I discovered they were kicked off the Better Business Bureau listing on March 15, 2021 with a grade of F after having received 15 complaints similar to mine over 3 years. The county was successful in getting them to finish the work and scheduling the final inspection. We had many different workers doing different things. Some did great jobs some cut corners and did slipshod work. For instance ceiling channel that was spliced to save money rather than cutting a continuous strip. We were given a used door that was warped and missing the door handle. The handrail the county forced them to install looked used also. It was beaten up and scuffed. It was installed incorrectly and is one of the items I am having them correct. Parts of the ceiling were walked on with muddy boots and installed anyway. My wife and I spent an hour scrubbing mud off portions of our ceiling. In the end this deck could have been completed in a month of continuous work given it was a mild winter. 4 new homes in our development went from holes in the ground to people moving in in the same time our deck was being worked on. We are very sad at how this turned out as we really liked Sal. He is a personable and likable guy. But after discovering we were lied to (and STILL being lied to) I now do not trust anything he says. The owner, Chris is not a bad person, he is just a lousy businessman and is way over his head. He has too much work to effectively handle. I know others have had better experiences. I wish ours had been so pleasant. I would caution anyone against hiring this company. To anyone who thinks this is an overly harsh review or that I just have an axe to grind rest assured I can back up everything I have said and then some with facts, dates, pictures and text messages. If anything I have understated how bad this experience has been. Caveat emptor.

We would never use this company again. We waited from October until February to have a deck built and from then until mid-June to have the patio done. They require half upfront so they have your money for months and you have nothing to show for it. Completion time was 8 to 10 weeks and we do understand the weather is a factor but not for as long as we had to wait. Their customer service is terrible. If it was not for our salesman, we would have never had any contact with the company. We always had to reach out to him but thankfully he would text or call us back. Their office or the owner would never return a call. Thankfully the company they subcontracted out to do our patio did beautiful work and the workers who did our deck did a good job. The company just has terrible Customer Service. 6-24-2021 update to my review. Talked to the owner on 6-23 when he stopped by our house. Voiced our concerns about his customer service. Told him a phone call goes a long way in the confidence of the Company when the owner will return phone calls. With no communication, you are left in dark about what is going on with your money, the project, and the company. He seemed to understand our concerns. Would recommend the company now but still be prepared to wait. Once again the 2 men who did our deck did outstanding work as well as the patio company.

This company is a complete joke and disappointment. They are quick to take your money but take forever to either complete a job or repair a job they have completed. Chris the owner is horrible when it comes to customer service and communication as we have called and texted him multiple times with no reply back. This company will give you the run around until they are blue in the face. Sal is a great sales man. That is the only good thing i can say about this company . They will start a job and take months to complete. They also take advantage of the elderly. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Trust me it will save you a headache. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE is all i can say. Very unprofessional!!! STAY AWAY!!!!

All I have to say is when I called Great outdoors, Chris came out within a couple of days. Very attentive and knowledgeable of what we wanted. Reasonably priced. Moses and Angel came to our home with their expertise craftsmanship and they are very meticulous about their work. They did a excellent job on our 16x16 deck with front and back stairs and grill Bump out. Very solidly built! We will be contacting Chris again in the future.

I have been waiting on sun room construction and delivery since August 2020. I went 4 months after down payment before getting concrete pad and another 2 to 3 weeks before getting framing. Nothing since. Rarely responds to phone calls, emails, texts. When he does it is always, I am going to check from my distributor and then you do not hear from him a gain unless you contact him. Have been waiting since mid December, early January for them t continue construction with windows, doors, etc. I have paid for 60 percent of the project and received 30 percent of the work.

Installers were great, however the customer service side was not so great. Very hard to get someone to answer calls, texts or voicemail.

This project has been a total nightmare. I called them and set up an appointment. The guy Sal came in a timely manner and I signed a contract on 9-11-20. The work on my addition was to start in 8 to 10 weeks. I gave them a $7,500.00 deposit using a credit card. After 12 weeks I called about my project along with asking them why they have not turned in the paperwork to my HOA. I was told they fired the person that takes care of this and would take care of it. It has now been 4 months and still no paperwork to my HOA. The salesman Sal along with the owner of this company refuse to return any of my calls for the past 2 months. I am now in the process of getting my $7,500.00 deposit back and starting over. Stay clear of this company at all costs

Total fraud. Zero stars would be more appropriate. Signed a contract in April 2020 and paid half down. Work was never started and the company would not return the deposit. Now they have gone dark. Do not work with this company.

I wrote him a check on the 29th of may . He was to get the permits. I found out months later he did not even apply for them. The crew showed up around the 1st of October to start the framing ,and worked for two and a half weeks and got it under complete roof , doors and windows, ( It was the wrong door set which did not fit the wall size) . I gave him his third draw which amounted to around 25,000 out of the 27,550 dollar total. When the framers were done i asked him about the framing inspection-- I was told he is taking care of it. I waited a week and called the permitting office and was told the inspection had not been applied for, so I applied for the inspection. He got two people to come do the insulation and drywall. They were a painting crew who did not know how to install insulation. I had them pull out some of what they put in and showed them how to install insulation-- If I had not been there, I would have had an un-insulated mess on my hands. They installed the drywall and taped it which took about two and a half days but they got the job done. At this point , the Sun room is still not complete, they are working piece meal with no indication of an end in sight. I have been trying to contact Chris Russell with no success and Chris will not return calls.

Shoddy workmanship, they took almost 8 months to a job they said would take 2.

The sunroom workmanship was wonderful. The guys who worked on it are wonderful and the workmanship is terrific. However the communication with the Great Outdoors Company was not what I would expect for good customer service. I called many times and did not get a call back. However after this review the wonder did call me personally to resolve the issues. He took my suggestions for future communication problems. I was satisfied with results from the return phone call.

Contracted The Great Outdoors Company early May 2020 to turn my 12'X20' 2-sided (5-panel) screen porch into a 4-season, glassed-in room, using existing aluminum frame & roof... Including adding new 3/4" plywood over existing deck, New 2-pane storm-door, adding a door landing & steps, plus replacing the lower lattice around the old porch with modern material. The quality of the work, and materials were excellent. Can't say enough about Moses & his helper. Top-notch craftsmanship work. Very happy with our new beautiful 4-season Porch. Because of being in the middle of the "pandemic", work & supplies took 4-months to complete the project. Would have posted 5-stars, BUT, lack of commutation was a BIG problem. Took weeks for someone/anyone to respond to my questions. Overall, now that its completed, we are super happy, and "job-well-done".

They tore down our old deck, hauled it away and replaced it with a larger TREX deck. Their representative provided a very thorough presentation; his description of how solid they would construct the deck convinced us to go with the company. They build so many decks that he had a photo of exactly the design we were looking for. We were out of town while they built it, and they kept us informed with photos during the process. Although it was difficult to get a start date because of supply chain issues, once they started the deck they completed it quickly and we are delighted with it.
