About us

Bill Sapp Completed his studies in Turf and Ornamentals at Rutgers University in the mid eighties and proceeded to have a wonderful career on various golf courses in Colorado , Arizona, and Maryland. He moved to Delaware to assist with caring for his aging grandmother, and started Green Lawns in 1996. Green Lawns has been providing quality lawn and landscape; maintenance, design and installation in Delaware ever since. We've got a nice little lawn care business. We hire qualified employees who care about the plants, and who take their jobs seriously. We cater to residential customers, and we are proud to say that we have many of our original customers from back in 1996. Our services include fertilization program, which include weed and crabgrass control, as well as fungicide and grub (insect control). Tree and shrub care program to fertilize and keep them free of insects and growing freely. Better care for better bloom. Our Irrigation systems are designed to save you money by being the most efficient systems your money can buy. Landscape plans are available to install and add to the enjoyment of your home, and to increase value of the property. We offer ponds, lighting, and hardscaping too. We really like them. It went very well. We pay for each treatment but you could sign up for a package. They are really nice. They don't come into my house but they always introduce themselves to me when they get here, they ring the doorbell and say they are here for the treatment. It doesn't take an extra amount of time. They just tell me what I need to know and then they let me know when they are done. They are really professional and they are really kind, and they always answer our questions.

Everyone was most personable and considerate.  Bill has even  told me what to plant in areas where I have more spring bulbs to move so I won't mess up his design!  They discovered Maple Gall on the leaves of our maple trees and will be  back to spray when the weather is more favorable.
Bill is very knowledgeable and I will definitely have him back to do more.  We spent more than we expected to, but he did so much more than we really expecIed  .  I'd love to be able to afford to just let him go with his vision--he is very talented.

These guys are true professionals. They showed up right on time with the right tools and expertise to do an excellent job of correcting my landscaping. The work was done in a quick concise manner in exactly the manner Mr. Sapp had explained to me at the estimate.  Mr. Sapp also used several opportunities to train an employ in procedures to improve their activities at the next job. Mr. Sapp also made several suggestions to improve my lawn in the future and later sent me an email with projected costs.  Would I use them again? Tomorrow!! I have no qualms recommending them to my best friend or closest neighbor.

Terrible, grass cut was worst I ever had, grass blown everywhere, areas not trimmed and clumps of grass left in patches and blown into neighbors yard.

I hired this company to do the work because I saw they had a good rating on Angie's List.  I hired them from a distance (I live in PA) to do the work at my mother's home.  We had a "miscommunication" I believe, that caused the company to return to the property to finish the job.  They came back and did the work we requested and actually went  "above and beyond the call of duty".  Mr. Sapp was always professional and honest in his dealings with me.  Also, his company was the first to respond to my requests for estimates.  I would trust them to do a fine job for others.

Work took place over the course of three days.  Excavation, framing of walkways and completion of wet gravel fill were done the first day as well as the delivery of materials needed for overall project.  Staff cleaned up the woods and yard areas of branches and twigs and started blowing leaves from the front lawn into the woods and took up old posts and fences.  With the use of a Kabota machine all the old bushes in the front yard were dug up.  On the second day. the walkways were covered with sand, tamped down and were laid for most of the long walkway  New plants were put in across the front of the house, ivy removed from the house, and the areas of dirt between the two walkways were burmed for the planting of two gardens.  Everything was completed as planned on the last day with the addition of planting a small third garden and three red bud trees. There were 3-4 work men each day, each of whom were extremely conscientious, hard working, respectful, friendly and professional.  They cleaned up everything and except for the wonderful transformation they created, one would never know they had been there.  The work was outstanding and the outside of my home went from shabby to House Beautiful in the blink of an eye.
