Description of Work: The PHS group originally were to put in a deck, put in 5 windows, redo three bathrooms and take out two walls. There was an elevator in the house that we also had removed, so PHS added in floors to these areas as well. Ultimately, it was impossible to put in a deck of the size that we hoped for due to zoning restrictions. | |The list of work outlined above is extensive, and unfortunately it was more than PHS was capable of coordinating. The work was charted to take 9-12 weeks, but it took them 32 weeks--not three months, but 8 months! The owner of this small company only came to meet us at the beginning of the job and when it was clearly taking too long and we started trying to reach him to find out why, he was not available, not once, to meet us. The "foreman" of the work was changed once, and then the second person was as disorganized as the first person. Without anyone taking real responsibility for the work flow, the work straggled on and on, and on. I had seen many high ratings for PHS on this website, which was the reason we hired them. I have to conclude that the ratings system on Angie's list should be reassessed, and/or the PHS group is not appropriate to use for such extensive work.

Description of Work: I purchased a new home that needed major repairs in order to be habitable - including a new hot water heater, HVAC replacement, new electrical and plumbing throughout along with cosmetic changes such as a new floor and carpeting. PHS completed the work in less than 2 weeks - very impressive. Brandon is extremely responsive and was quick to satisfy any requests I had.

Description of Work: Installed insulation in the attic. There was a little confusion about timing, but once they arrived, the work went very quickly; they were very clean and very efficient. They were very easy to work with and I recommend their work wholeheartedly.

+ 0 moreBrandon's team worked quickly and performed high-quality work. We encountered two major problems that couldn't be predicted prior to start of work. For example, all of the lighting wiring was incorrect and an entire wall framing had old water and termite damage. Brandon took care of these in the middle of the project for a fair addition to the contract. This was a prime opportunity to take advantage of us since it was in the middle of the job, but Brandon was professional and fair through the whole project. Another example of Brandon's commitment to quality is that over 2 years after they did this work, we discovered that an exterior outlet was overseen and not reconnected during the rewiring of the basement lights. It took us over 2 years to discover this since we rarely use that outlet. Despite the time lapse, we called up Brandon to tell him. He sent his guys right out to fix it, at not cost to us. This fix involved removing a large section of drywall, re-wiring, and then patching the drywall. He did all this despite the work being past the 2 year guarantee. He could have easily claimed that we did something in those 2 years and that it wasn't his responsibility. We are now three years out from the original work and can report that the walls look as good as they did when they first completed them. I highly recommend Professional Home Solutions for their high-quality work, Brandon's professional commitment to see the job through, and for their competitive pricing.
Description of Work: We hired Professional Home Solutions in the summer of 2008 to remove wood paneling, a drop ceiling and wall paper from our basement and to drywall the entire basement.
