I am disappointed to say that working with PHS has been the worst experience with contractors we have ever had. They provided us a quote in January 2021 and a 3-4 month timeline for completion, possibly stretching to 6 months. It is 2.5 years later and the work is not completed despite following up and paying our side of the contract. If you are considering working with PHS, run the other way. Brandon continually dodges our calls and and texts. When we do get a hold of him, he makes promise after promise that the work will be done, but to date has still not completed the work. The unit still doesn't have working AC, and the electric box has not been completed. The only positive part was working with the individual craftsman PHS subcontracted to do the actual work, who when they came, did quality work. But it has been a battle to get anything done. We did a similar project with another company, and it was completed in 3-4 months, so PHS has no excuse.

I had a really good experience working with Brandon and Juan on the upstairs renovation of my rowhouse. Juan was my day to day contact and was always responsive and coming up with solutions to any issues we encountered along the way. Brandon always also made himself available when I had questions for him. I'm really happy with their work and love seeing all the changes to my upstairs. In addition to their great work, what I appreciate the most was how detailed Brandon was in the initial contracting process. He provided the most detailed contract of any of the providers I reached out to and made sure there were no surprises on my end. He kept his word on the quoted price and the only extra I ended up paying for were some materials for an extra service not in the original contract. During the project, Juan noticed some things that would make the project better and worked with Brandon to include the labor at no cost to me, which was a very nice.

We are super grateful and happy that we chose to work with PHS, Brandon, and Juan for our total home renovation in NE DC. The scope of our home renovation was to: tear out all existing hardwood, tear out the staircase across 4 levels of our home, reconfigure all interior walls, lay new hardwood flooring, tear our a chimney across 2 floors, and add a bathroom to our attic. This was a near, full-gut job. We ended up not touching our kitchen nor basement at all due to budget constraints. Breaking down our experience working with them: - Contract: PHS was one of the last contractors we reached out to, but Brandon ended up being one of the fastest to respond, come our to the house to take a look, and then eventually submit an incredibly detailed proposal. Brandon was willing to answer a million questions about the contract language, amend language where needed, and customize the proposal to us. Brandon was also willing to work with us to refine scope, separately price items, and adjust the contract in some areas to fit our budget. PHS came in middle of the pack on price which made us feel comfortable about our choice. We felt confident in Brandon and PHS that they would not nickel-and-dime us, bury us in change orders, or inflate the price in anyway. - Communication: I was blown away with the level of communication we had from start to finish on this project. Brandon would respond to every text, voicemail, or email in <24 hrs, and in most cases within an hour or two. I don't think a single day went by in our 10.5 month project where we didn't hear from Brandon or Juan in some regard. Brandon and Juan took effort to talk through choices, offer advice (both creative and construction), and ensure we were kept in the loop during months we were out of town. - Quality of Work: Brandon's onsite construction manager Juan was an absolute pleasure to work with. Juan has immense attention to detail, was willing to correct errors or minor mistakes without any questions/issue, and there were absolutely ZERO cut corners on our job. Brandon and PHS' mottos of "no cutting corners," "doing things the right way," and "making their customers happy/putting them first" were adhered-to from start to finish. When there were design flaws that our separate architect didn't catch, Brandon and team took the liberty to get it done the right way (with our permission) despite what the design showed. Near the very end of the project when we noticed light switch was in the wrong place, Brandon and team solved the problem with no questions asked. Brandon and Juan were truly interested in making us happy, ensuring we loved our home, and making sure they did things the right way, with high quality, and high professionalism. We didn't notice any cut-corners or "half-assed" work. - Schedule: if there is one less-than-stellar thing to report, it's that our initial 4-6 month construction schedule (after building permit issuance) ended up taking 9.5 months with a few odds and ends still to fix after we moved in. To be fair, there were some owner-directed scope changes that may have impacted the schedule on the magnitude of a few weeks, but nothing that would have caused work to completely stop in the meantime. Certainly Brandon and Juan hit some snags that were outside of their control: vendors getting COVID, scheduling delays getting inspections done, key staff getting sick, a handful of weather delays, but frankly work did not move as rapidly at times as we would have expected. The work was always done with high craftsmanship and quality, but there were several instances where it seemed like little-to-no work would get done in a given week. I think that perhaps the key staff and subs got spread thin on some competing projects, but things picked up once a separate project or two of theirs wrapped up and they could dedicate more staff to our project. All of this being said, Brandon was absolutely a man of his word and honored the clause in our contract that compensated us for the schedule overage per terms of our contract. The rent reimbursement clause in our contract was a big reason we decided to work with PHS and Brandon, and we were happy that he upheld his end of that bargain. It seems like schedules will always be busted on construction projects, so I don't think the schedule overage was anything unique to PHS, but our experience was no different. However, again, PHS and Brandon are unique and very accommodating to such schedule issues with their rent reimbursement promises. We cannot endorse PHS, Brandon, Juan, and their entire team enough. We were very nervous picking a contractor to gut and renovate our house while we left the area for several months, and Brandon and his team went above and beyond to assure us that everything would be okay, keep us in the loop, perform the work with high standards of quality, and be as accommodating to us as possible. My wife and I had absolutely no experience renovating a house, but Brandon and Juan made it easy on us. We trusted them with our family's home and we think you can too. We would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Brandon, Juan, and his crew were very courteous of our space. Given Covid and everything going on they were able to get the job done. Brandon's project coordinator, Juan really delivered. He was great to work with and was honest about delays and helping navigate fixing items that need to be corrected. While no project is perfect we are very happy with the end result! We love our renovation.

Brandon and Juan were both extremely professional and easy to work with. They made a great suggestion on how to best use our space. They were flexible with changes that we wanted to make as the project progressed. Everyone on their staff was respectful, hardworking, and professional. When we had questions about next steps or scheduling, Juan was responsive and easy to coordinate with. We were very pleased with the final product, and the remodeling greatly improved the functionality of the space.

I would definitely work with PHS again. Brandon and Juan were great to work with. I felt like they listened to what we wanted. I also appreciated that they were really creative. We have a very small space and they worked with us to create as many little storage spaces (for example under the stairs) to allow us to maximize the space. The quality of work was very good and they fixed any issues that we found as the project went on. My only criticism is that the project took double the amount of time. They did make up for it both financially and by adding in some custom cabinets.

Brandon and his whole team, including (but not limited to) Juan, Jorge, and Axel, were fantastic to work with for my kitchen and bathroom remodel! My kitchen was a full remodel and the bath was a partial remodel. They were always on time (if not early!) to begin the work every day and were incredibly professional. Juan, Jorge, and Axel also have a great eye for what looks best in the remodeled space. They respectfully offered their professional/expert opinions when I asked for it, which I did often since this was my first remodel experience. As for pricing - the pricing was very fair/reasonable and Brandon worked with me and my budget, which was unlike other contractors in the DC area. I couldn't be happier with my experience and I would hire them again in the future. Highly recommended!

Brandon and his crew are consummate professionals. After completing a large-scale renovation of my row house, the kitchen required some additional work involving the installation of a new oven and reworked design. Professional Home Solutions completed the work in a timely, creative, and cost-effective manner. I can't endorse them highly enough!

Quality of Work: We are incredibly pleased with the way that our house turned out! Never in a 1000 years did we imagine that the home that we purchased could look so brand new. Our kitchen looks amazing with our herringbone backsplash, new stainless steel appliances and sparkling white quartz countertops. My favorite part of the kitchen is the little bar area we had installed. The hardwood floors look magical and serve as a perfect contrast to the paint and brightly colored trim. The bathrooms are stunning with white pedestal sinks, penny tiles (in the powder room) and marble and subway tile (in the full bath). And the house has plenty of light with the big windows and french doors. Customer Service: Our General Contractor Brandon was incredibly responsive and pleasant in all our communication. I never felt that he was trying to "pull a fast one" on me and always allowed us to feel as if we were in control of the project. Because of that, the house truly reflects our desires. Our Project Manager Juan was amazing. He was always willing to go the extra mile and ensure quality work throughout the project. Because of the length of our project, we also got a chance to meet a lot of the guys. We never felt unwanted or unwelcome when we randomly popped by the house. We always felt safe and the guys were willing to stop working and share what they were doing. Special shoutout to Brandon (a different one) for all his hard work, patience, and kindness throughout the project. Pricing: We were a little intimidated by this whole process because we've heard how expensive projects could be. After doing a little shopping around, we were very pleased with the offer (and detailed!) contract we received. We also liked that we could scale down (or up) our costs based on the finishes that we chose. For example, we could choose cheaper flooring to make a more elaborate backsplash. The flexibility was something that we really appreciated and made us feel in control. We were also a little shocked that the pricing of our project DID NOT CHANGE! We heard horror stories about contractors changing costs on people in the middle of the project. Brandon was true to his word and did not increase our costs (unless we requested it). I think this really speaks to the integrity by which he and his company operates. My project took longer than expected due to my frequent absences. However, the manager was always courteous and positive about finding solutions to address my concerns. They were willing to fix unexpected problems as they arose (e.g., leak behind kitchen walls when old sink cabinets were taken out). Floor work for tile, wood floor and staircase was excellent, tile work was good, kitchen work was very good. Minor adjustments were willingly made. Clean up was good.

When I first got the quote from Brandon, I had my cousin who's a contractor in TX check it out. He said it was the most thorough contract for a bathroom he'd ever seen and that the prices looked reasonable. Since day one, Brandon was always really responsive to text and email, as was Juan, who was my project manager. Brandon and Juan worked with me every step of the way to make sure I was happy with how things were going. They were willing to make adjustments large and small with no compliants. Brandon was unfailingly patient and positive, and Juan went out of his way to meet at a time convenient for me when he needed me to check something out in person. We had a relatively small job and didn't get a response from some contractors we contacted, but Brandon took the time to come out and give us a really fair quote. Our job involved some significant unknowns, including a wall that was potentially load-bearing, and Brandon walked us through the possible scenarios and was clear about how the job might change. Our renovation with PHS went great. The quote we received from Brandon was very detailed and we worked together to ensure that it reflected all the necessary details. Once the contract was signed the work got started right away, and the team worked hard to ensure that it was completed on the agreed upon end date. We had excellent communication with our foreman Juan, and we were able to quickly address any issues that came up. The end product was exactly what we had envisioned and three years later, we’re still so happy with all the work!

We are satisfied first-time customers of Professional Home Solutions. We signed up with owner Brandon and project manager Juan after the previous occupants of our home had used PHS for a major renovation in 2013 and were happy with the work. From the moment of the bid to the very end of the work, Brandon was highly responsive on text and email and very accommodating. Rare among contractors. He worked with us on the price to keep the project within our budget. He also addressed our concerns with some of the initial tile work and floor sealant coverage to ensure that we were ultimately happy. The team did great prep work protecting the floors and covering appliances. They worked quickly to meet our move-in deadline, though some of the work lingered until after the expected completion date. Having lived in the space for several weeks, we have noticed some minor quality issues with the paint job (areas only lightly coated; drips on the brick facade that won't come out; trim that needs touching up because of polyurethane splash) and tile alignment, but not a huge deal. Overall, solid work, good value and responsive customer service. We would recommend PHS and look forward to working with them again on future home improvement projects.

Before the work started, Brandon sent us very detailed proposals that included significantly more information than other contractors who provided quotes, and he worked with us to find an amount of work we could do with our current budget. He sent Axle to do the renovations to our powder rooms/guest baths and kitchen, all of which went very well. Axle did a beautiful job on the tiling in the powder rooms and kitchens, they are so striking and the quality of the installation is clear. In all his work Axle was thorough and detail oriented, identifying potential issues with our plans and coming up with solutions to those issues. He was always prompt and completed the work quickly, and even came back for an extra day to further cap off the now-not-needed extra drain below our sink. He also took care not to damage other work that had been done, protecting our newly refinished hardwood floors very well.

We hired PHS to do a renovation involving an unfinished basement and 1st floor living/kitchen space. PHS came in cost wise right in the middle of our estimates. I think we got much more for our money as there were a lot of loose ends as it related to carpentry/ electrical/ plumbing that we did not think of that had to be remediated/ addressed during the construction. The house carpenters are top-notch, addressing new radiator covers, and creativity with a stairway handrail that were not originally planned. They took spur of the moment changes in stride. Brandon ( owner) provides a really clear and detailed project scope with pricing information. We had a pretty aggressive timeline with a new baby coming home and we were able to do it with a few days to spare. We gained two additional living spaces, new kitchen, additional bedroom and master bathroom. So far so good, we are happy to have the additional space. I'd definitely use them again in our next project.

I was really impressed with the professional services offered by Professional Home Solutions. Due to some scheduling conflicts, it took us a little time in the beginning to get the estimate done, but the wait was totally worth it, and Brandon was very responsive throughout. The estimate was free, which was great. Once we got the estimate, it was really smooth sailing from there. I was extremely pleased by the professionalism of the contract and paperwork--Brandon also provides a copy of the company's licenses, etc. I received estimates from other companies, and there was simply no comparison in that regard-- the estimate from Professional Home Solutions was clear, detailed, well-written, and really inspired confidence that the services would be thorough and would get the job done. There is also a warranty. While this was not the lowest estimate I received, it was very clear that this company understood the problem and would do what was needed to fix it. We got the job scheduled quickly and it was completed quickly. The company also took care to protect our property during the process. Texting made communications easy. Payment was also hassle-free. The result looked really nice and professional. Working with them took a big weight off my shoulders I would highly recommend and would hire them again. I attached photos showing before and after. Before we had black spots on the wall from moisture that had leaked in.

Brandon and his team did a nice job on a complex leak repair that necessitated repointing historic brick, sealing it, and fixing a fascia. Another contractor had identified the source of the leak but could not do the repair. We found Brandon through his positive Angie's List reviews. Consistent with those reviews, he put customer service first. He was willing to meet with us during the repair and shift course to a different color sealant so that it would blend in more. He was above board and gave us a credit when his team realized that they did not need to replace the entire fascia but could repair it. He communicated quickly by text during the project, and when his team was concerned about an additional area that might have been contributing to our water infiltration, they fixed that too. Brandon was easy to work with and is very customer oriented.

I have the brightest roof on my block, it's literally a white flat roof on the back of a rowhouse and I am very happy with the quality. I also have a new hvac, a carrier, that works much better than our old unit and our attic now has twice the amount of insulation as I included blown-in insulation in the contract. My old roof was leaking into my child's room. It was not the first time and the previous roof came with the house when I bought it and was approaching 30 years, it was time for a replacement. Due to the location of the leak in my house I was adamant that Brandon have this roof replaced as soon as possible. Brandon has every deliverable completed within a week, I am happy with the quality of work and overall I highly recommend this firm. It was my second project with them and I can honestly say I don't have a point of critical feedback. The work was completed quickly and I am happy with the overall quality.
