Just gave an estimate on cost, how long it would take and where it would be done (in home).
Description of Work: came out to give an estimate on circuit boards in 2 HDTVs that Verizon screwed up when they installed FiOS. FiOS fried one HDMI port on both TVs and as such, the circuit boards needed replacing.

I had a bad experience with a new salesperson who is trying to trasition from another area of the company. A couple really positive events came out of the bad experience. First, I got a call from Michael, the owner, who is working hard to make sure I am satisfied. He has called me and listened to me and in the process, I learned about a man who cares about his employees and allows them the opportunity to grow. I applaud his efforts. I wish him and his new salesperson the best of everything.
Description of Work: My experience with M&M is years old. I have purchased several appliances and a grill. I use them for repairs. The guys who deliver appliances are efficient and professional.

Mand M appliance was the vendor our developer purchased all of the new appliances for our home through. Several of the appliances have broken and our service calls from them have been very frustrating. As typical, they give you a four hour window (morning or afternoon) that they will send a technician. I've never understood why consumers stand for this. If my boss scheduled a meeting with me, I would have to pick a time and be there when I was told. These repair companies require their customers to sacrifice their time in order for them to schedule more appointments. The person scheduling does not make any attempt to determine the problem so the technician could come prepared to fix it right away. They also won't connect you with a technician. They schedule a diagnostic that's close to or over $100. This appointment lasts about five minutes out of the four hour window you're asked to hold for them. Not to mention, they don't have much availability and between the diagnostic, parts order and follow up, it's take about 3-4 weeks to get our appliances fixed. That's a long time to be without an appliance. On our last service call, they called to cancel the follow up appointment citing one of their technicians changed their schedule (I'm not sure if he called in sick or asked for vacation or something else). They rescheduled and we rearranged our lives to accommodate. I called to confirm the day before. When our rescheduled morning appointment window was about halfway through, we received a call saying they were coming in the afternoon instead. (They didn't ask, they told us.) After expressing my displeasure, they made some arrangements for the technician to come as scheduled. The quality of their work was good. But their appointment scheduling was horrid and their customer service was not focused on being convenient for the customer. Don't use Mand M. They're a waste of time.

Everything went quite well. It was more important that I had the unit well installed instead of lower price so I went with them instead of a big box store. I told them what dimensions we were working with and I ended up purchasing a unit from them. They took my old washer away for a nominal charge, installed the new one and hooked everything up properly. They were very fast and didn't cause any damage moving the units up and down the stairs.

Great experience. Mike was extremely helpful -- the model I was interested in was back ordered, so he discussed my requirements and called me back with suggestions for comparable units that were available immediately. He was able to get the units I want delivered and installed in just a few days. His team was prompt, courteous and efficient. The price on the units was very slightly higher than I would have gotten through a big department store, but the personal service and professionalism made this a good deal for me. Hopefully I won't need to replace another large appliance anytime soon, but I would definitely go back to Mand M.

Our initial experience with Mand M was comically bad. While the refrigerators and microwave that we ordered are finally in--and we're extremely happy with the quality of them--the process of getting them here was riddled with delays, poor communication, and incorrectly ordered items that worked together to create *The Worst Customer Service Experience Ever™*. So I don’t want to undersell our original dissatisfaction. However, upon hearing about our troubles, Mike, the owner and and quot;Mand quot; in Mand M, contacted us and went out of his way to make things right. He remedied the incorrectly ordered items and personally assisted us with the remainder of our appliance purchases. We greatly appreciated the trouble he took and now won't hesitate to shop with Mand M in the future.

We'd purchased a washing machine online from a company in Philadelphia for what looked like a good price. But 2 weeks later we were still trying to get them to schedule a delivery date and every time they talked to us we discovered there was another add-on expense. We'd driven past Mand M and decided to check them out. They had what we wanted for a comparable price (after all the add-ons) so we cancelled the Philly order. Mand M said they could deliver the machine in 2 days between 8 am and 10 am. At 7:30 on the day of delivery, they called to say they were on their way. At 8 am, they were at the front door. By 8:20 they had the new machine installed and the old machine out. They wanted to bring it in the back door (by far the easier route) but our security gate on the back door was too narrow. They had to bring it up the front steps and down the basement steps, negotiating several tight turns in the process. There were no complaints (in fact, they said this was easy compared to some places they've worked) and did no damage to walls, etc. in the process. We will definitely be using them when the dryer dies!

I call Mand M, explained my problem, and scheduled a repair call. They scheduled the visit for the following week and gave me a 5 hour time frame to plan around. On the appointed day, I received a call from the technician to say that he would be there in 30 minutes and he was. He quickly diagnosed the problem and explained that he needed to order parts to make the repair. About a week later his office called to say the parts were in and we scheduled another appointment. Everything worked exactly like is was supposed to and the job was done. The office staff and the serviceman operated in a very professional manner and were a pleasure to deal with.

Two servicemen arrived on time with a courtesy call before hand to let me know they were on their way. They were professional but worked slowly. They had to move an electrical outlet box (just unscrewing it and rescrewing it a few inches over) to accommodate the different dimensions of the range; they initially said they could not do it and then reconsidered a few minutes later. They were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. The range iooks reasonably straight but they just "eye-balled" it and did not use a level while adjusting the legs, so I am not sure yet if it is totally level. They also fumbled a little with the grates and sometimes banged or dropped things by accident.
Description of Work: I ordered a Bosch gas range to replace a broken stove in my kitchen. I ordered the range online and received a call to schedule the next day. They were able to deliver, install, and haul away the old stove in one visit later that same week.

As of 2/27/12 we still have no call in the system for this client. I find it hard to believe we dropped the ball 2x but... it could happen and apparently this time it did. So I looked up his phone number on the internet and left him a message apologizing for how he was treated. I offered to provide him a "FREE" service call or if he had already contracted with someone else, I offered to REFUND him what he paid for the service call. I provided this client with my personal cell phone number, and as of yet have not heard from him. We take our rating on Angie's list VERY serious. We are far from perfect. When mistakes are made, we own up to them and try our best to correct our actions.

Their salesperson was great. Mand M doesn't have LG appliances in stock, so she talked me through the particulars over the phone while I looked at the items on-line. She encouraged me to take my time deciding and discuss the choices with my family, then she ordered the ones I'd chosen (it took about a week). They called the day before to set up delivery and sent a team of very personable and knowledgeable guys to do the installation. Two problems emerged. First, the water line under the sink needed to be revised to be compatible with the hook-up kit (it was welded to the old dishwasher plumbing). And when they peeled away the tape that stabilized the door of the fridge, it left a long line of discoloration across the stainless steel. They said they would store the dishwasher until I could get the plumbing done, and they'd bring something to remove the discoloration on the fridge door when they returned to install the dishwasher. I called Mand M to let them know that this was the plan, so the discoloration would be documented. After the plumbing was done, two different installers brought the dishwasher, and they hadn't been told anything about the fridge door situation. They suggested some possible solutions that I could try, but I didn't want to take responsibility for possible damage to an expensive new appliance. They didn't have anything on the truck to address the situation themselves. They said they'd report the situation when they returned to Mand M. A week went by without any contact. I called LG and asked them if they could suggest a remedy (since they're the ones who applied the tape that left the mark). The guy who fielded my call seemed pretty clueless (I had the impression that he was scrambling through a manual and throwing out rather meaningless possibilities), but he did tell me that LG wouldn't take any responsibility for the situation because I only reported it to Mand M and not to them (the one week window for reporting had thus expired). So I called Mand M again, and they set up a date on the following Monday for two guys to come out and take care of the matter, and they did. Overall, I was very happy with my purchase and with Mand M. They are head and shoulders over Home Depot, from whom we had originally arranged to buy LG appliances, but perhaps that's faint praise.

Great experience. I purchased a gas stove and dishwasher. I spoke to Sandy several times over a 2 week period before the purchase to get estimates on the appliances I was considering. She was patient with my questions and requests. She emailed each quote and answered all my questions with a pleasant professional attitude. I really feel we should support local small businesses and not national chain stores whenever possible, so I found what I liked on line visited several chain stores to see the appliances when available, and then asked Sandy for a quote. M and M's prices where comparable, so I decided on the local store. Delivery was as promised, I was notified by Alejandro, the dispatcher, of my 2 hour delivery window ahead of time so I could plan my day. Delivery persons were professional and quick. I am very pleased with my appliances and with M and M appliance. I have already referred people to them.

I took a chance on Mand M as they were one of two distributors for the Speedqueen and they were located in DC and I was in Alexandria, Virginia. I am thrilled with my experience with them. Sandy was so pleasant and tolerant of an anxious, often calling customer. Although there was a delay in the machine being delivered to Mand M (Speedqueen's are hard to find) , it arrived at Mand M one day and was delivered to my home the next morning. The delivery crew called ahead, were about 1 hour early, and were efficient, effective and very professional. They had to take of two doors to get the machines through the door, but replaced them good as new when finished. I am a thrilled customer and will use Mand M Appliance again as needed.
Description of Work: My Kenmore electronic washer broke after only 3 years and the expenditure to get it fixed would have cost as much as the new machine. I did my research and decided on a mechanical only washer and ordered the Speedqueen washer from M&M Appliance. M&M are one of two distributors I could find of the Speedqueen in my area. I ordered the machine over the phone and arranged for delivery, haul away of the old machine, and set up and testing.

My dryer stopped turning/rotating and I was able to identify that the belt needed replaced in order to fix the machine. I contacted M and M who were able to send workmen out that week to look at the dryer. I set an appointment for a Thursday, and they provided me a 4-5 hour window. They called the morning of the estimate to narrow a time and arrived promptly at 9am. The technician spent a few minutes looking at the dryer, confirmed it was in need of a new belt and said they would order the part which would be a special order due to the age of my dryer and an estimate of the labor cost to replace; he also gave me a $100 bill for coming out for the estimate. I contacted the office and explained that information on Angie's List said they did free estimates, he cleared the charge up immediately and I even received a call later to make sure I knew the charge had been removed and I wanted to proceed with the repair. They called once the part came in and were able to schedule an appointment the next day. The repair was done quickly and efficiently.

We liked the overall response. The repairman who came out to fix our dishwasher (twice in a 1 and 1/2 year time but different problems) was knowledgeable, friendly and quick at the work he did. Parts were ordered and he returned in a timely manner. Problem was fixed. He gave us advice about how to deal with the model we have. We were very satisfied.
Description of Work: I called them to look at problems with a dishwasher. The repairman came out, looked at the dishwasher, said he could order a part and return to install it. All of that was done in a timely manner. He was knowledgeable and friendly. We had reason to call again a year later for a different problem. Again M&M responded quickly, professionally and we were satisfied. I would certainly use them again without hesitation.

It was fine. They were the only local company that repaired the particular refrigerator that I had. It was a week's wait for an appointment which was not outrageous and it was fine.They were timely and they came when they said that they would. They replaced the part which was still under the warranty and so, they replaced the part when they said that they would. We did not spend anything as it was under warranty.

Overall it went well. I knew what I wanted and I called and place the order over the phone. Delivery guys worked hard and although they slightly scratch the side of the refrigerator, I didn't complain because they were working in a very tight space. Installation men were professional and efficient. The only annoying thing was they called me the night before delivery and said if I didn't call back that night (to confirm delivery the next day) they would cancel the delivery. They were closed when I got the message -- so I called in the am -- turns out the refrigerator was on the delivery track anyhow. Moral of the story-- delivery communication/professional could be improved.

Came out a few weeks ago to service my dishwasher. Three other companies had been out before, this was my last attempt to get someone to correctly identify the problem. Everything went well. Don was the salesperson that I worked with, and he is terrific. I was able to purchase the fridge over the phone. Immediately after purchasing the fridge I became worried that the fridge would not fit in my house, that is, that they would not be able to get it into my house and up to my second floor kitchen. I knew that the fridge would fit in the kitchen, but it needed to get in the house first. Don sent 2 installers to my house to check everything out, and they determined that they could get the fridge in, but they would need to bring it into the house via the second floor balcony. While this was happening, Don sent me info on alternative fridges that were slightly smaller in case the GE Profile that I picked would not work. The fridge was ordered, and when it arrived a few days later the installers brought a lift to get it up to the balcony. The installers were terrific and they took great care removing the old fridge and hoisting up and installing the new one. The new fridge was put in place without a scratch. It took 3 hours, but Mand M did not charge me extra either for the first home visit to measure and determine if installation was doable, or the 3-hour delivery and installation. Mand M are the pros at getting appliances in small, tight city spaces. I hightly recommend them, especially for difficult installations.

First I bought the range at a national chain but was getting delivery date runaround. I tried mand m the call was fast and smooth because I knew the range I wanted. It was in stock and they gave me a delivery date and it was delivered at the time they stated. The installers did a great job installing and removing the old range. They were fast and precise. My only advice to the company is to warn customers of that smell that comes with new ovens when they are first used.

Mike G. was the sales contact and he was great. We had had a terrible experience at Sears trying to purchase a machine which we were charged for but was never delivered. After I relayed that to Mike, he assured me Mand M would get things done as we wanted. He was very diligent - reviewed pictures I sent of the area we were going to have the washer installed, reviewed dimensions closely, offered various options of machines that would fit, troubleshot potential issues, and then assigned Joe to install the washer. Joe is the man. He fit our washing machine into a tight space and it works great. Mike and Joe will not let you down. They are the best out there. Definitely, I would recommend them to anyone looking at appliances.
