Description of Work: Purchased $18,000 worth of kitchen appliances. Salesperson Drew stated I had to pay entire bill up front then made multiple mistakes when arranging installation despite a presite visit that occurred well before purchase and assurance that Joe would be present and was needed to complete the installation. Installers showed up (they were wonderful) but stated the appliances could not be installed because Joe wasn't with them! Drew and the installation manager were immediately made aware of the problem. I was never officially rescheduled but instead Joe(who is a gem) came in the evenings or weekends to complete the job over the next month. I felt my job was handled unprofessionally at best and that despite the fact that the original error was made by their employee Drew, I was never contacted by management nor was the completion of my job ever a priority.

Description of Work: Sold me an over that didn't fit in my kitchen after telling me that there was no need to measure and all was standard sized. Left the oven in the middle of the kitchen floor even though installation was paid for. Refused to adjust and I had to pay a cabinet maker to adjust the cabinets. Once finally installed, the high end ovens didn't work. Three visits from M&M and the ovens worked only ok, but because of how installed one door continues to rub the edge of the oven. Product was faulty, salesman completely uninformed and service non responsive.

[member name removed], I want to apologize for the problems you had in regards to your Thermador double wall oven. When installing a wall oven we always recommend a site survey. Apparently this was not done and i sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Had we done a site survey we would have noticed that the cabinets would have to be modified ( something we did not do "in house" at that time) we also would have noticed that you needed a 27" oven, and not the 30" you ordered. We did communicate the need for a carpenter to come and modify the space to your husband who said he would contact the cabinet installers. Once the space was modified we came back and installed the oven. The ovens did not work properly and we again came back out to find that there was a problem with the door latch and after contacting Thermador. They informed us that there was a known problem with the latch system ( something beyond our control) you spent a lot of money on a premium product. If your product is not working properly, please reach out to me personally and I will do whatever I can to insure you have a properly functioning wall oven. I again apologize for your experience with my company and look forward to supporting you in the future should you have any problems with anything we sold you. Description of Work: A refrigerator / freezer ice-maker repair. The issue was - they let the job linger for three months. They were totally unresponsive, they did not show up or follow up, money was already paid. Finally, they assigned a responsible and skilled technician and they may have even gotten competent help in the office. The job began in the fall and wasn't completed until January.

Description of Work: "This review is long overdue. With the holidays coming I was reminded of our crises. | |Last year we purchased a complete set of new kitchen appliances from M and M. We had searched several other companies before we had settled on M and M. We wanted the complete line of the GE Profile Series (refrigerator, gas range double oven, dishwasher, micro and an additional electrical range. We had gone to Sears, HH Gregg, and Bray and Scarf. We did lots of research and had the appliance name, series and model number. Of course we wanted the best price and service plan. Line for line, M and M matched the best price and service plan and beat them all. We bought the appliances and had them delivered and installed. We loved them. | |Three weeks before Thanksgiving our dishwasher began to leak water. Because our appliance were new and under warranty we called the GE Service provider. A service call was set up. The morning of the service call we received a phone call telling us the appointment was cancelled and would be rescheduled the following week. The next week the same thing happened. So we were in a position to wait another week. | |The Monday before Thanksgiving the same thing happened with our service call. We had twelve family members coming for Thanksgiving and no dishwasher. Feeling desperate and overwhelmed I put a call into M and M and spoke with the manager and explained the situation to him. He shared he would put a call into GE but could not promise a response. After no response from GE and another desperate call to M and M the manager responded to our crises. | |He promised to send his own service technician out to fix our problem. This he did not have to do because technically we were still under warranty. The technician arrived at our home at 4:00 on Tuesday afternoon. He worked tirelessly to fix the problem. After he diagnosed a hose problem, and realizing he did not have the appropriate part needed to correct the leak he went to a near by hardware store to by the part to fix the problem. After a few attempts and seven hours later our problem was solved. | |The technician worked through dinner, spent his own money for the part and worked beyond his work day to fix our problem so we could have a successful and stress free Thanksgiving. On top of that, M and M did not charge us a dime. They certainly could have because the problem was not theirs. | |Hats off to M and M for beating all prices in the DC metro area and many many thanks to them for sending their people, spending their dime to make sure our holiday went on without a hitch. | |After profusely thanking the manager and sharing that we would be happy to pay for the technician's time and part we were told no need. The response was - when you buy appliances from us we consider you family and we are there for you. | |A year later - no problem with the dishwasher. M and M we are customers for life and so appreciate the time and attention you provided to us. Again, although this review is much much to late, it comes with honesty and sincerity and a great deal of gratitude to the manager/owner of M and M. |"

Description of Work: Made an appointment for service -- it took an entire week to get an appointment. I took time off from work and an hour before they were to arrive they called and cancelled, citing an "emergency" (my oven not working is not considered an emergency, I guess) They had actually CONFIRMED the appointment in the morning, telling me they would be there during an afternoon time slot. They left a message that they could reschedule, but it would take ANOTHER week to get an appointment

Our Angie's list rating is very importaint to us and we do everything in our power to give excellent customer service. Unfortunatly the month of December was not easy. Juggling employees vacations, sick days off and emergency service calls was the "theme" of that month. We let this customer down, due to things out of our control. It was not our intention to do so but it happened. We will continue to work harder at communication and providing better customer service.

I took a day off from work and scheduled a morning appointment. I called them at 9:30 AM the day of the appointment and they said the appointment was now scheduled for between 1 and 5 PM. I called again at 12:30 PM to get better idea of when to expect the repairperson. They said he would call me 30 minutes before the appointment. No one called me back or showed up. Incredibly they called me the following Monday to say that they would like to reshedule. I explained that I had been a repeat customer and would appreciate a discount on service if we rescheduled in light of their failure to show up and they said no way. I will never use them again and would strongly encourage others to avoid them as well. There must be other repair companies in DC that actually appreciate their customers.
Description of Work: I scheduled an appointment for them to repair interior door in freezer. (Also purchased a dishwasher from them 2 years ago (floor model) that has never worked properly.)

Fine, a bit expensive for a simple repair and fails to the put any value on customers' time
Description of Work: latch on microwave oven was loose, hence it wasn't properly engaging. technician tighten the latch. This required removing the microwave from the wall. He was careful not to damage my cabinets or my counter.

Purchase/install was relatively smooth, except install was a little sloppy (installers left some mess on floor, bottom valance of machine was slightly deformed). Was a special order - dishwasher was delivered/installed within promised time frame. However, the dishwasher began having problems in November. The soap drawer does not work, so we can't use the machine. Mand M handed me off to contracted warranty repair service Capital Appliance who was completely incompetent. Did not return phone calls. Promised ordered part would be installed by 2 weeks. After 5 weeks and no repair and no returned calls, finally referred problem back to Mand M. They have not been able to resolve the problem either. After "forgetting" to assign my appointment date, (which cost an extra day of waiting/rescheduling, etc.) sent out technician day before Christmas who "reset" the machine, but this only fixed the issue for one machine cycle. I called them to set up a new appointment and am awaiting yet another service visit. Overall, Mand M's service department was unapologetic about the poor handling of the issue by Capital Appliance and did not seem to assume any sort of ownership over this issue. I'll update this if/when the problem is fixed.

Even though I was notified all was in stock and ready for delivery, it took 3 trips for them to get the items delivered. The first time they showed up I asked where the range was - they said it was on backorder even though I'd bought the floor model. They delivered it the next day. The refrigerator was damaged so they had to order another which was delivered the following week. When inquiring about the delivery time, I was repeatedly given incorrect information.

Fabulous! From beginning to end. We knew what models we wanted, so I simply emailed Mike to inquire about the price. He offered competitive prices for both the appliances and delivery. And, since we aren't yet living in our house, they offered to call when they were on their way to deliver. They showed up on time and quickly/efficiently installed the washer/dryer, even taking a door off the hinges to make room for the appliances. Then, they took away the crates and were gone.

Our salesman worked hard for our business, going over the pros and cons of a number of different products. He seemed a bit frazzled, but he worked hard for us and even beat competitor prices by a good margin. The store carries a wide range of different brands and can special order items they don't routinely carry in stock. Delivery and installation went smoothly, although the date was later than originally expected for one of the items. Mand M made two deliveries but waved the fee associated with the second delivery.
Description of Work: I purchased a Kenmore stainless steel smooth top oven range ($699); a Jenn-Air duel fuel stainless steel oven range ($1,499 it was a floor model); and a stainless steel refrigerator, 18.2 cubic feet ($699).
