G & G Roofing

We interviewed several companies and received many estimates, but ultimately decided on G&G. George, the owner, was prompt and very knowledgeable about his work. He answered every question we had throughout the entire process and kept us in the loop on each phase of work. The team completed all work on time and on budget. I strongly recommend G&G and George and would use them again for any future needs.

George was excellent to work with. He had the best price, was able to schedule us quickly (signed contract on a Saturday, work began on Monday), work was done quickly and expertly, was flexible with us on multiple fronts for payment, and unlike every other provider we spoke to he did not bemoan the complexities of the job. In particular, George was very honest on what needed to be done and what did not need to be done to get the roof in working order. He very much is an advocate for the customer, and not looking to just charge you for any little thing as part of the job. I highly recommend George and G&G Home Improvement for any project.

George was hugely helpful (and I'm overdue in writing him this review). I call George and told him that I was having work done in my home but was worried that if I didn't fix my roof ASAP, water would simply funnel through the house and ruin the new work I was having done. He graciously moved around another appointment and came to my house that day to scope out the site and provide me a quote. It came in a little high, so we negotiated, and he even agreed to come to my house the NEXT DAY (again, moving around another appointment) to fix the vast problems (literally, a hole in the roof) before a pretty big storm came in the following day. He did a terrific job, and it's been about six months without a single sign of water damage to our newly renovated second floor. I'm very appreciative for George's great service, great responsiveness, and great work. I would certainly recommend George to other Angie's List members and would pass his name along to my friends. George, thanks for your help, and sorry it took me six months to write this review.

George was fantastic! He was punctual in returning my initial call, arrived at my house when he said he would, quickly identified what our roof problem was, and gave me a competitive estimate. He got all the work done on my roof and gutter in a day, which was excellent. I've had trouble with roofers before, so I was relieved to find George. He'll definitely be our first call if we have another roof issue.

George is, by far, the most responsive home repair person I have ever dealt with. He is always super-responsive to my calls, and he has changed two skylights and repaired part of the roof for me. I always come back to him because he's honest and fair, and I appreciate that he and his family are always the ones to come by and check it out.

We had a leak from the roof into our bedroom following the rainstorm. George responded promptly to our call. He came out the next day and gave us an estimate, lower than the other company we contacted. We called back several times with many questions. Each time he responded thoroughly and courteously. We compared offers and determined that his proposed offer would serve our needs. Two days later he came out and performed the work before the next predicted storm. We responded "NA" to "Quality of Work" because we have neither the capacity nor knowledge to go on the roof and assess, but he did give us a warranty on his work and his service delivery provided us with trust. Yes, we would certainly call him again if needed.

George always picked up the phone and kept his commitments. He was thorough with the explanations of the roof issues and gave very good advice. The team that did the repairs were great also and helpful explaining what was done. They cleaned everything up and were very considerate. I would not hesitate to use them again & highly recommend!

Overall it was a good process. George quickly responded to my request for an estimate and provided an indepth estimate at a competitive price. Once we were ready to do the work George scheduled us immediately and even ended up moving up the work when his schedule allowed. The work was completed in one day and so far everything is going well. One small negative is that I wish they had done a better job of cleaning up the debris -- there were bits of old roof in my yard that I had to clean up. Overall I would use them again and recommend them.

George and crew originally replaced part of our aging roof, doing a wonderful job, on time and on project. Since this is an old house we found other issues with the roof, that they promptly repaired. George is always responsive and attended to our roofing needs. He returned each time we had a minor issue and fixed some items that may even have been outside of the original scope of our contract. We recommend him and his crew very highly for their both professional and reliability.

The roof leaks appeared on the ceiling in the guest bedroom and they were starting to increase in size. I realized that the problem needed to be resolved quickly. I feel super lucky that I called G&G Roofing (found the company on Angieslist) because George was able to come to the house the same day. He identified the problem and brought his crew the next morning to fix the roof. I am very grateful and recommend G&G Roofing.

G & G roofing did an exceptional job on sealing our roof. They are incredibly professional and I would use them again.

George (the owner) was fantastic. He came 30 minutes early to do the estimate. I had two others lined up who didn't even show up. I really appreciated that he was respectful that I had to take off work to meet him. He was able to squeeze the work in before a big rain storm came. He talked through the repair and what they would do so I had a good idea of what he was going to do. We had to pay out of pocket and money was tight and he came up with a very fair price for the high quality work. The repair was top notch. The only way you could tell there was damage to begin with is the sawdust. The crew arrived early and finished in two hours as estimated. The shingles match perfectly including the hand cut ridge cap. Excellent quality work. It rained pretty hard the two days later and the attic is dry! He even advised me on an unrelated gutter repair to help me find the best price. Way above and beyond. I highly recommend this company.

A terrific experience! Quick and friendly response from George. He came out to see the roof within a couple days and clearly outline the repairs needed with photos. George called with updates on the plan and timeframe for the roof repairs and it was completed within a day as promised.

George came over the same day I contacted the company. This was much appreciated as we wanted the repairs completed as soon as as possible. He arrived on time, went up to the roof, took some pictures, and gave us an explanation of the problems and an estimate for the cost of repairs. We were pleased that he did not recommend replacing the roof. We took that to be a sign of honesty and felt confident that our roof did need what he recommended. We did get several estimates, though, and the roofer we ended up contracting for the repairs seemed equal to G & G in all ways except price, which was about 20% less. I believe this roofer does good work, but I would recommend getting a few estimates just to make sure you're getting the best price.

George provide an initial quote, up front, with the caveat that it might change depending on the severity of the damage to the fascia board. As the work progressed, he kept me informed of all issues, including costs. Photos were taken as the work progressed. At the end of the job, George provided the photos so I could have a visual record to maintain with the contract.

George is great. Very punctual and professional. He made well informed recommendations and was never pushy about what needed to be done. I always felt like he had my best interest in mind. His crew is also very courteous. They cleaned up the yard after each day, which was much appreciated. After the old shingles were removed, some repairs were necessary. This was not unexpected, the house is almost 90 years old. George called to explain the situation and made recommendations for fixing the problem areas. I am very pleased with how the project turned out and have already recommended them to a friend.

George, G &b G's owner, showed up on time, was extremely courteous and sealed the edges of my roof and skylight in a few hours, stopping an annoying leak. The project came in under budget. I was deeply grateful that he did not try to sell me an expensive new roof when one was not required. When further work was needed some months later, George returned within a day of my call and performed it without charge. I greatly admire a contractor who stands by his work. If I ever need additional roof work, I will ask George to do it.

Called G&G Roofing (Construction) for an estimate on repairs to my slate roof. I had contacted another company that claimed to do slate roof repair work, but they had recommended replacement of the porch roof section. George from G&G came out promptly and said he could repair it, has seen worse, and gave me an estimate on base work, plus an estimate for the most likely "bad day" scenario. He also recommended re-sealing the ridge and vents to prevent damage to other parts of the roof. The repairs were cheaper than any "upgraded" roof options (i.e. not asphalt shingle), so I went with that. George carefully pointed out where the roof had been poorly repaired in the past, and remedied those areas. All told, it appears I have extended the life of my slate roof another 7-10 years.

It went very well. G&G repaired my roof within the last month, so time will tell how well the repairs hold up. Because the repairs have not yet passed the test of time, I gave the quality rating above of only "good." My expectation is that it will turn out to be better. Very, Very pleased with George and his work.

I just love them, they where very efficient they did the job in one day. They where very professionals organize and clean. They came in early in the morning to start the work I left to work shortly after when I came back they where gone no mess no trash or any sign that they where there at all working all they just a job more than well done. I used them in the past and I will used them again my mom and sister and even some of my neighbor had hire them for and been satisfied with them. I always recommend them to get the job done in timely manners and good pricing.

We had several hundred square feet of roof aging, leaking roof replaced by G&G in March 2014. We were happy with the service, and so far the new rubber roofs seem to be holding up fine. They recommended that we get aluminum asphalt coating applied after the roofs had worn for a few months, so I called in early September and they came out within the week and did the job in a day. Again, the service was good, and so far so good the roof looks to have been well coated. Hopefully now we'll be in good shape for many years to come.

The fire occurred on Saturday, September 6. G&G was contacted on Monday 9/8/2014 for an estimate. I was satisfied with their previous work (replaced a faulty skylight, inspected and repaired flat roof, and thoroughly rebuilt my porch roof last year). George responded immediately, provided a preliminary estimate, and agreed to return on Wednesday 9/10/2014 ( rain was expected on Tuesday). The G &G crew reported as promptly on Weds. (9/10/2014). George reinspected the roof, noted additional water damage from the fire (the fireman vented my roof by cutting through several layers oft the hatch on my flat roof. Water used to extinguish the fire had seeped under that section of the hatch. G&G also spoke to my State Farm Claims adjuster. I plan to use G&G to repair my balcony roof, gutter and downspout after my neighbor's fire damaged balcony and roof are rebuilt. The final cost of this project was reasonable and within the preliminary estimate provided by G&G on Monday. The neighbor's fire caused no major structural damage to my main roof.

The townhouse I live in has 3 roofs, one larger section and two smaller. When G&G first came one of the small roofs had a small leak. I felt it was a bait and switch. Everything kept changing. Each time I talked to him more things needed to be replaced. it went from $2600 to $8200 in a matter of 4 hours. I think a professional would have looked at all three roofs first. He offered no warranty. I put a down payment of $1500 and when I got home he demanded the rest of his money but I said i would not pay until i had a roof inspector come out. The roof inspector came out, he said that the main roof needed to be entirely replaced. he also said that the repairs that were done actually caused a problem. The two small roofs that G&G claimed to replace, the inspector said they were not replaced. I told G&G I would have to have the entire thing redone and was not going to pay. I offered to have the inspectors report sent to him. G&G then told me he would show up at my house and remove the materials that he had placed on my roof. Then he proceeded to verbally attack me personally in regards to my appearance and my home.

George was very prompt and had his crew start work within a couple of days. His company was pleasant to work with and did what I requested. I did not want to replace the roof and George did not use high pressure sales tactics. I have a 125 year old row house and just wanted the roof repaired and re-coated. I would use this company again.
