District Relocators

I was advised that the moving crew of 6 men would arrive at my location between 9 AM and 10 AM; they didn't arrive until 11 AM and only had 5 men. They wrapped my furniture pretty well but neglected to protect the floors in either house, which left a lot of salt and dirt on my floors. One large piece of furniture - a computer desk - was dropped down the stairs and destroyed. The crew then broke the desk into smaller pieces and wanted my trash company to pick it up rather than them haul it away. I told them this would cost me a 'large item pickup fee' with the trash people so I was not willing to do that. The crew also did not properly protect other items (a stainless steel trashcan and a set of wheels for my car) and both items were scratched and dented. I have tried to file a claim for a reimbursement of the broken desk. The company has refused to answer my emails after initially responding that I would be reimbursed for the desk. I called the only available phone number on their website and the representative said she could not assist since I called the Sales office. She could not provide another contact method for getting in touch with someone regarding my claim. It's been over a month now and my claim has not been addressed.

District Relocators made our move as easy and pleasant as it could be. Linda was efficient and pleasant in making the arrangements and gave us a very accurate estimate. Our packing crew, Jermaine, Chris, Derrick, West, Al and Greg definitely knew what they were doing. They showed up on time, worked straight through with no breaks and protected everything so nothing was damaged. Our moving crew, Sam, Al, Greg, Derrick, Shamar, Shawn, and Malcome, were also a diligent bunch. Really nice guys with incredible energy. Also very skilled with not a single paint ding on either end. They had to trudge through slushy snow (including through a big puddle with a treadmill) and all I heard were laughs and jokes, not a single grumble. We would definitely hire them again.

I am very pleased with their service. I guess their affordability and their attention to our personal property. No damage to the house or furniture or anything like that. I would use them again in the future.

In my opinion District Relocators does an adequate job unless something unexpected goes wrong. In our case a piece of furniture was damaged by the movers. Per the request from the Claims Department I sent them a pic of the damage. The Claims rep indicated they would get right on it. A month went by before someone showed up to attempt to address our concern. The in-field restoration work was unable to satisfactorily fix the problem. A pic of the as left repair was then sent to the Claims Department, along with a request for them to contact us. Numerous follow-up Emails and phone calls over a two week period went unanswered. A complaint was subsequently filed with the Mid-Atlantic BBB.

District Relocators was easy to schedule with and the moving team was friendly, professional and efficient. They moved everything quickly and were easy to work within terms of where to place items. They required us to book and pay for an additional mover because of the scope of our job, but they finished in two hours, well under the three hour minimum; I would have preferred to pay for one less mover and have them take a little longer.

Nathan and his team at District Relocators were a great help during our move. They were flexible when I needed to add one other stop to our move, and they were diligent about using furniture pads and tape to protect furniture in the truck. They were extremely fast and didn't need a lot of direction; they were also cheerful and very pleasant to work with. A+!

I was scheduling a last minute move and District Relocators had an open time due to a cancellation. The crew arrived early and made the move quickly and efficiently despite all obstacles. (Our loading dock was blocked by unregistered cars, and the building management had double booked the service elevator.) The final bill was right at the quoted amount. Good experience and I would recommend them.

Such a smooth and easy move - easily the best money I've ever spent. The guys arrived on time, worked hard and quickly, but did an excellent job of protecting my things and the houses. Will hire them again for my next move. Thanks!

They did a great job. They were right on time, the cheapest we found and moved everything quickly and efficiently. We were supposed to have three people move us. One ended up being sick so they gave us a discount and still finished in the amount of time quoted. They did a great job helping us fit some large furniture into some very difficult entryways. Would use them again,

I was very satisfied with the execution of their services. I was very sensitive about having someone moving the conference table but they did it without a scratch. They also performed packing services for are the electronics equipment, printers, desktop pcs etc. the guys were also very courteous and punctual. Hopefully next time well hire them under better circumstances but thanks Corey and Linda and the district Relocators team.

District Relocators arrived promptly and were friendly and efficient. The crew worked quickly and carefully to move my items and get the job done properly. I was impressed with all aspects of the move. They were prompt in their response to my requests. Would recommend them to everyone.

I want to give a big shout out to Corey and Holly at District Re-locators. I move all the time in my job (5 times in 4 years) and I gotta say that this was by far the easiest, smoothest, and stress free of all. ..filled out the web form, got one phone call, signed the contract online, the truck showed up on time, and that was it! This moving company provided excellent service. They packed my belongings and handled them properly. My things were not damaged during the move. They were prompt in delivering my belongings. They unloaded and assisted in the set up of my furniture, ie. beds, dressers and electronics. I would use this company again if I decide to relocate in the future.

My boyfriend and I recently moved from a Georgetown 3-story walk up row house to a modern apartment building in Thomas Circle- Shawn and his team were absolutely great! They showed up right on time, even though we had booked them less than a week in advance. They wrapped all our big items with blankets and bubble wrap and were careful with the TV, antique dresser, mattresses, and other valuable items. The dispatcher Linda even called over an extra crew of two other men, which speed up our move at no extra cost. With 4 movers and Shawn we started at 9am and were in our new apartment by 11:30. The move was so incredibly easy, they were responsible, knowledgeable and efficient.Best of all, there were no extra charges - just the base fee and hourly fee we were quoted. They were excellent and professional and we will definitely be using them again for our next move (hopefully no time soon!) Thanks to the District Relocators crew and staff.

Once again the guys came through for me in a difficult time. It can be hard when our love ones grow old and can no longer live on their own. Trying to find a place that would accomodate my great aunts needs and covering the cost was hard enought let alone the packing, sorting and moving all of her belongings. Shawn, Sam and Mark were very patient with the packing and sorting though years of memories from our family. The guys were very respectful when asking what items we wanted to keep and what needed to be disposed of. Working with my aunt and her limited abilitied can be challenging but the guys were friendly, polite and most of all patient. It took about 3 hours to pack everything up and the move itself took another 3 hours. From the way her house looked before the move we had no idea how we would tackle such a mess. The guys cleared the house with ease and gave us a sense of comfort on how to handle the eventual sale of her property. I would definately use District Relocators again.

We used District Relocators again for the second time in two years. When they moved us from Maryland to NC, the move went so smoothly that I had no other option than to allow them to move my aunt, who was moving in with us in NC. As always, they were extremely careful with her furniture and very flexible during the entire process. My aunt had condensed her belongings years ago so luckily there wasn't a lot of stuff to move nevertheless it was still a tedious move because she has a bunch of fragile and expensive dishes and nicknacks. The guys came right in and did just as the manager, Corey promised. They were friendly and very efficient during the entire process which was always easy because can be extremely picky. Ultimately I was happy and my aunt was happy. The drive down was smooth and easy. They unloaded quickly and before you knew it, she was moved in and they were on the road again. It was a job well done!

I hate moving. Mainly becuause it disrupts my life. After a recent divorce and a quick move to DC for a new job, I fouind myself paying too much money for too little space. I moved from a large home in PA to small apartment here in DC. The move was terrible. It was paid for by my company so the price didn?t both me but when I decided to move to a larger home to share with a friend after only six months in my, ??luxury apartment,? ? the costs and hasstle were all mine. I really lucked out here. I found District Relocators on line. First, I was going to do it myself and then realized I had to work and that I was no longer 23 yres old. It was a no brainer! I filled out the moving app on line, got a call the next day to confirm, a week later the guys arrived (on time) loaded me up, padded and wrapped my 60? TV. I met them at the house in Brookland and within two hours I was home, everything unpacked, nothing broken, they were gone and it was only $375. Go figure ? thanks guys Shawn, Mark and Sam ... all three were great) What I liked most abouit the move was, it was easy and ?No Surprises.? Easy process, on time and fast service. District Relocators. I?m sold! but... I still hate moving!

1 out of the 3 workers actually did anything. The other two just talked a lot and broke things. Utlimately I ended up paying additional money to another company because of their laziness and unprofessionalism. I have been trying to write a meaningful review for this company since I hired them but each time I get angry all over again. They are really responsive but that is probably due in part because no one is requesting their service. You'd be better off getting friends to help. I was already stressed with the move and after they got in the mix, i was ready to check myself into the hospital. Even the guy that has the "lead" was embarrassed by the quality of work. | |The worst experience ever!!!

Their service hours say they open at 8:30am during the weekdays. I called their main number at 9:45am. Let the phone ring 30 times, and no answer and no voicemail.

They gave me an estimate for 3 hours (4 movers), with additional charges per 15 minute time frames (which is very reasonable). Including the transportation time, they were right on target: 3 hours total time. i was worried about the move because my move-in apartment is a 4 floor walk up. It was not a problem for Distritct Relocators. These guys were fast, professional, punctual, responsive, really strong, and got the job done. I am very pleased with their service.

I scheduled with District Relocators because their estimate was less than half of the other companies I spoke with. My only problem was that I didn't get any confirmation saying they were coming, nor the time of their arrival. I called the company the night before, and was assured they would be there for 8am. Unfortunately though, they didn't arrive until 9am so I was freaking out a bit. I did feel a little uneasy when they arrived - the truck didn't say the company name, and none of them were wearing a "District Relocators" t-shirt or anything like that... but once they came inside, they checked out the whole house and within about 5 minutes started carrying everything down to the truck. They even took the stuff I had packed in trash bags that I fully expected to have to move myself. The guys were machines - the truck was packed with about 1.5 hours, and they were on the way to the new house. When they arrived at the new house, my parents were here to help direct them and so everything started moving in. I wasn't there to see the truck packed, but I was impressed to see all my furniture wrapped when it arrived. Our driveway is a big hill, so they had to park the truck at the bottom and carry it all up the hill - I definitely felt bad about that but what could we do. All the furniture came in first, and then the boxes and bags and whatnot, and I will tell you they definitely slowed down around noon. Per my husband's request, I got the guys pizza and they really appreciated the gesture (please do that for movers... and definitely get them drinks too!). After lunch everyone, including my family, started carrying stuff in because there was just so much, and I think the guys appreciated that we were trying to help too. Once everything was inside, they unwrapped everything and even were planning to put the bed frames together (although my husband wanted to do that himself so I told them no). There weren't any issues with missing boxes or broken stuff except for a break in the back of my dresser which I now realized is plywood anyways so it didn't matter. I was a little disappointed that the company has a policy to notify them within 48 hours of anything broken since we definitely hadn't unpacked within 48 hours but oh well. In general, despite the rough start, we were really impressed with their efficient and thorough work. The guys were really careful to not break anything or hit the walls and took offense when I gave them permission to break something! The only snaffoo was carrying the grill to the back which got some burnt grease on the carpet. That was our fault though, we should have cleaned it before moving it! Overall, great experience (Especially given the price!!). We also tipped the movers about $20 each which was all the cash I had at the time. They did an awesome job.

My family and I were relocating from Maryland to NC and we need a reliable yet inexpensive moving company. An acquaintance of mine referred District Relocators. I tend to be a pretty skeptical person by nature therefore I googled the company and read all of the reviews that I could find online. I must say that most reviews were favorable. I called the company and spoke to a gentleman named Emmett. He was very pleasant and efficient but I wasn't convinced and asked to speak to the manager. Emmett informed me that Corey wasn't presently in but he'd have him call me as soon as possible. Corey did indeed call me back within a few hours. I explained that I'd be moving a few states over and I needed a reliable company to move me. Well, poor guy, I grilled him with a multitude of questions. But hey, they'd be responsible to move all of my wordly possessions. He assured me that my family and I would be pleased with the move. The price that he quoted was pretty resonable...I must admit I was hoping that it could be done under the $2000.00 mark but after calling numerous companies that seemed impossible. So, I accepted the price of $2100.00 but at I had the luxury of splitting the bill up with my sisters. Fast forward to the day of the move: The guys arrived as scheduled. We had packed up everything...now to get this stuff on the truck. Well, that's what they did. They lifted and hauled and sweated and moved our stuff in record time. I was a little scared that our stuff wouldnt all fit as we were moving into a 5000 square foot house. But I must say that its all in the way that you pack the truck. IT ALL FIT...YAY!!! The control freak in me followed them to NC. But it was all good. Except they drove the speed limit. LOL! Arrived in NC: One of my sisters was already there waiting on us. Since it was early summer, we still had a little daylight. It took a few good hours to get our stuff completely moved out of the truck and in the house. They insisted that they put the beds together but it was so late and we were exhausted and they had to be exhausted. I insisted that the guys leave. They were staying at a local hotel for the night. They asked if they could come back in the morning to put our beds together. I was flabbergasted. It's hard to find kind and honest people anymore. I conceded and they arrive the next morning early and put our beds together. I usually don't write reviews...good or bad but I was so pleased with the services of District Relocators that I had to write a review. Great company and good people. Extremely pleased!
