District Relocators did a spectacular job helping me move. I was so impressed and grateful for their assistance loading our house into the moving truck for our long distance move. The communication leading up to my moving day was thoughtful and helpful in making sure that I had everything necessary onsite ahead of time and to give an accurate cost estimate so that I would not be caught off guard on moving day. We exchanged several emails and I even received a phone call the week before our appointment to ensure I had the best moving experience possible. The team that came out to my house was professional, efficient and kind. We had two trailers available to load the household good into, and they got everything into one trailer with room to spare! The team was in constant communication with me and each other during the process to make sure that my belongings were packed safely and arrived in the same condition they were in as when they left Virginia. I would absolutely use District Relocators again, and I recommend them to everyone I know in Nova even if they don't have a scheduled move coming up!

I have moved every 1-2 years over the last 20 years due to work and this was the worst move I have ever had. This is a shame as I have used District Relocators in the past and was very satisfied. However, this move was unorganized from the beginning as they kept pressuring me to change my moving time outside of the time frame provided when booking the move. I finally agreed as they were just supposed to prepare and wrap the furniture in my apartment since I didn't have the freight elevator reserved, but instead they stole the freight elevator from someone else and began moving my things anyway. The movers were completely unprofessional. Due to their neglect there was significant damage to my household goods, many boxes destroyed as well as numerous broken items. They also put a huge gouge in my living room floor when moving the sofa. I purchased several wardrobe boxes and the movers were so careless that bar and clothes were all at the bottom of those boxes which completely defeats the purpose. The really sad part is that despite being a loyal customer and voicing my concerns they put me off for months and then offered $75 compensation. I expressed that after being a loyal customer for years and I would remain a customer if they would just make things right with a more reasonable offer of compensation (perhaps $250) they said they would review it and get back to me. Despite several follow-ups they never responded. Therefore, despite their reasonable prices I will not use this company again and I would warn you to be cautious as well. Some of the movers are great and others are unprofessional and neglectful and the company clearly does not care. Photos are attached to show just some of the damage.

District Relocators helped my daughter move from Washington to lower Manhattan. The Manhattan residence was a 6th floor walk-up with steep stairs. Our lead mover/driver, Dave, was awesome. I have never seen anyone work harder to complete the move-in in a fast and efficient manner. Despite the challenges of the Manhattan location, Dave and his partner Chris never complained. Dave was always positive in his attitude. District Relocators has my high strongest recommendation. You will be incredible impressed by their service.

District Relocators arrived on time with more movers than promised, that is where the positives ended. They loaded a shipping container with our moving boxes and furniture. They broke a glass top from a table while preparing to move it and also did a very poor job of packing and padding the furniture, even though we had plenty of moving pads ready specifically for this purpose. When the shipping container arrived, multiple boxes were crushed because light boxes were packed below heavy boxes. A desk was broken in multiple spots because of the way heavy boxes were loaded on top of it. Multiple pieces of furniture had deep scratches and rub marks, because they were not padded and loaded properly by the movers. I submitted a claim to the company and received an initial response from Corey, responsible for processing claims. After telling me they were not responsible for what happen during shipping, even though they packed the containers, they agreed to look into the broken glass that occurred during the move. That was over two weeks ago, I never heard back from Corey again with a resolution and have followed up multiple times via email, and speaking with and leaving messages with both customer support and the sales rep I initially worked with, who both told me they would pass my message along to Corey in the claims department. I would not recommend District Relocators for your moving or packing needs, if something goes wrong they will not accept accountability.

I do not usually write reviews but I felt it was important for me to share my positive experience with this company. Moving is a very difficult process plagued by anxiety and stress but the movers at District Relocators completely changed my outlook on the moving process. Getting a quote was quick and easy and the rest of the process followed suit. Corey was responsive and assuring from beginning to end. My husband and I were not as prepared for the move but the movers stepped in and went above and beyond for us. They were quick and efficient and we did not have to micromanage the process. We had a successful move and all our items were carefully moved to our new location and we could not be happier. Big thanks to District Relocators for making this big day an easy day for us. We will be sure to use them in the future!

So so. This was my second time using DR. My first experience was excellent (moving from a condo into a townhouse), so I had no reservations about using them again. This time, I had twice as much furniture, and was combining houses into one house. That said, we had several discussions and emails with Hollie where we provided a detailed inventory leading up to the day, and asked several times whether a 26 foot truck would be big enough for a 2-bed house (with basement, shed, screen porch). I would not use them for another large/complicated move. First, the packing job was abysmal. Items were thrown (almost nothing was wrapped in paper) into large boxes. It was amazing that nothing broke. They left after 2 hours (despite charging us a minimum of 4). My fiancé should have insisted (I couldn't be there) that they (a) pack up more things and (b) waited for him to hand down items from the attic. They didn't show up with any boxes even though we said we might need to buy some. When I showed up the next day, curtains were still hung, small items such as fans were left out, and nothing was disassembled ( shelving, crates). While perhaps my fiancé should have done more on his own, I would have expected that they reminded him before they left. The next day, despite paying for two trucks, both crews insisted on starting at one location. They worked hard, and it was really hot for April (95), so the B rating. But my walls got pretty banged up, in part because they didn't shrink wrap as much. In addition, a table leg on an antique was damaged, and some screws were misplaced. Things went more downhill from there. We got to my fiancé's house, and the truck quickly filled up (before everything is on). I basically have to beg them to get a treadmill and a grill on the truck (both of which were on the inventory). So we go and unload. The house was a shambles when they left, because all of the rugs were on the first truck, and they unload the second truck first, which could have been avoided if we had done the trucks separately. I ask if we can go back to the second house to do another run, but they are like no, clock is up... so it's not clear to me why the two trucks sit together and people are less than fully occupied, but they won't go back? I could go on, but you get the idea...Oh - and when I wrote afterwards to Hollie about the packing job, she said she'd follow up. That was a week ago... Again, my first experience with them was great, and if you have a small move, they are cheap and reliable. I wouldn't use them for a large house move. I will say that the cost was 1/3/ less than other quotes...

Overall, I was happy with this service, although I did find it to be a bit pricey. The guys were very nice and helpful and were careful with our furniture.

Driver Derrick and workers Darius, Victor S, Darwin K, and Jeffrey J were early, courteous, professional, and cautious with my new furniture. I would strongly recommend them to anyone. I would use them again. They sent me a 5 man crew when I only asked for 3.

It was great. I would use them over and over again. They're responsible. They were responsive. They had great customer service. They were on time. The gentlemen were great. I had no complaints. They were 10 minutes early.

It was smooth. The price was pre-negotiated and they stuck to price and showed up on time, One of my pieces of furniture was scratched, but I don't blame them for that.

Movers were on time. They were very carefult with our items (wrapped them well). Some of the items could not maneuver the stairs to the second floor (old row house) and the movers took them back out through the front entrance and carried them in through the basement. They moved other furniture around for us to replace those pieces without a single complaint!!
