Description of Work: I bought a deal through AL: $180 for $500 of plaster repair and paid an additional $100 for a ceiling crack. It was definitely worth what I paid but I don't think it's $600 worth of work. The employees were curteous and did the job well. They also came back without complaint when I asked them to polish one area more after it had dried. They were also very good about placing down tarps and cleaning up the mess.

Description of Work: plastered a bedroom ceiling that had been damaged by a leak in the roof. They did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves!!

Description of Work: Repaired roof leak. Repaired and refinished outside wood and stucco water damage, and inside plaster water damage. Mr. Cook and his sons are skilled professionals who perform well the work they do. Based on the work performed above, I contracted with Cook & Sons to repair and reglaze most of my windows and refinish and paint the front of my house and my windows. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Cook & Sons repaired the damaged plaster on the underside of our attic stairwell. It looks like new. Beautiful work.

Description of Work: Cook & Sons were supposed to repair plaster in accordance with the terms of the "big deal". I had several locations that were repaired properly, but one large crack was simply covered. I was not home so I could not address the issue right there. Also it was very difficult to actually get them to my house so I decided to let it be and when I install a main floor bathroom to get it repaired then. The advertised "big deal[s]" sound good, but they don't seem to equate to good service when I have tried to use them. I have returned several of them or had bad results, because the job is never within the strict interpretation of the scope of the "big deal" description. This was another example.

Description of Work: The "Big Deal" was not a discount but instead simply a method for the contractor to acquire a down payment on the work, prior to making an estimate or securing a contract.

Description of Work: At first very good, company reached out and tried to schedule estimate/work. I purchased the coupon as part of a planned project for later in the year so did not schedule. They contacted me several times all very professorial. The last time in Nov 2012 called to let me know the coupon expired was about to expire and then a follow up saying coupon was expired. (see cut and paste of email below). I took the statement at face value and assumed I lost the money and I had the work done by someone else as part of another project on the home. No harm no foul. However, as I was going through recpeits in prep for tax time, I noticed the coupon had an expiration date of April 7 2013....very different from what the contractor said in their email. Since I had the work done by someone else I just want a refund. I attempted to contact the company today via phone and left message. Other than the miss communication from the company no other issues and I do not feel they are a bad company likely just an over site on their part. If I still need the work done I would have them do it. But I do not so I would like a refund. Description of Work: Contacted provider but they could not perform the type of service I needed for my home.

Description of Work: Mr. Cook came by to perform an estimate on plaster work to be done in my living room. He and his associate, Darlaine were early for the estimate which was so refreshing! Usually you wait around for contractors to show up! He was able to give me a more than reasonable estimate for the repairs to the plaster plus painting the entire living room. Darlaine followed shortly after the visit. I believe it was less than 48 hours later! She was able to schedule me shortly after the holidays which I am so happy about. Mr. Cook will be performing the repairs next week. I can't wait. If their promptness and professionalism during the estimate and scheduling is any indication of their work I know I will be more than happy! So glad I purchased the coupon for them on Angie's List!

Description of Work: We could not be more pleased with the work performed excellently by Mr. Cook's employees, Sidney and Mike, who couldn't have been nicer to deal with. They arrived promptly, did their work very well (this involved repairing many cracks in 50-75-year-old plaster) and cleaned up so that by the time they had finished there was nothing for me to do but admire. I expected to find a film of plaster dust everywhere and was so very pleasantly surprised! I heartily recommend this firm and these men.

Description of Work: They did not show up on time. They were 30 minutes late. They said they would call 20 m. ahead of time. They called at the door. When I said you were suppose to call ahead of time they said they did. Just now. After they took pictures they said they would emil me with the est. When I reminded them I purchased the coupon on Angieslist They said they would let me know. They went to they're truck I asked them about doing more work they came back in at that time the lady said they don't honor the coupon on Angieslist in No.Va. That is not the way the coupon was advertised. It was obvious she was not being honest. She said Anglist would have to return my money. All in all it was my first experience w/ Angieslist and it was terrible. How Humiliating. She said we only honor angie coupons in Mont. County and Wash. It was after they left and came back.
