They may need to come back and replaster the ceiling wall where they covered up the electric-box for hanging a kitchen ceiling light. I spoke with Mr. Cook about it and he said no problem.

Mr. Cook and his team repaired 40+ holes in our ceiling after we had insulation installed in the attic, and also did the painting after they finished repairing the drywall (it was a mix of drywall and plaster). He was prompt and responsive, and charged a competitive price. His team did a fantastic job, and also did a good job cleaning up when they were done. I would definitely recommend them!

Antoine Cook and his crew are artists with the trowel and have long experience in working in historic houses and government buildings on Capitol Hill. The quality of their work is outstanding, the company is businesslike, responsive, and easy to deal with. I am proud of the work they have done and look forward to using them on future projects.

Mr Cook came to our home to view the work be done. He is very knowledgeable and explained what the work would entail, and provided an estimate within 3 days. Mrs Cook scheduled the work and handled the payments. The crew who did the work were skilled professionals and the job looks great. They cleaned up completely afterwards. We would definitely call on Cook and Sons for any plaster work we need in future.

I emailed photographs and a verbal description of the work needed. Took them a week to provide an estimate, and then it was EXTREMELY high. I did not hire them to do the work.

Incredible amount of physical work involved in bringing down and replacing our home’s 19th Century ceilings with modern lathe support. Thorough job and personal attention by the company owner. His is a skill fast disappearing, having learned his craft from his father a generation ago. Painters I hired as a follow-up confirmed the work was as professional and smooth as ever seen.

The crack in the ceiling returned, and it is larger than before, but I cannot be sure of the cause. Some of the repairs blend into the existing plaster better than others.

I couldn't be happier with the work performed by Mr. Cook and his employees. Readying my house for sale, I needed some fairly substantial repairs with the exterior stucco surface and a paint job. Cook and Sons provided me with the lowest estimate, started the work within a week, and completed the job on time. The stucco repairs made the surface like new and the paint job was fabulous. I have to add that his staff were diligent and courteous at all times. This company is great!

Purchased a $500 Angies List "deal" for $180. Cost of job was $700 (so really paid $380), which seemed quite expensive given the size of the repair area and the amount of time it took to complete (3-4 hours). Plasterer installed metal lath, applied 3-step plaster process (scratch coat, double coat, finish coat) to an appx 9 square foot cut out hole in the wall. Quality of work was very good, super smooth, and plumb. Clearly the installer knows his craft.

Cook and Sons did an excellent job. They worked quickly and efficiently, and were very good about cleaning up as well.

The project went very well. Mr. Cooks' technician was clean, professional, and fast. They came on Saturday and returned on Sunday to finish up. The quality is impeccable. Out of the many people who have tried to repair the wall, Cooks' was the only one to actually pull the plaster off and rebuild from the scratch board out. I would hire them again and highly recommend their service.

I was so pleased with the plaster repairs Cook & Sons performed in my home that I hired them to paint the interior as well. I am extremely happy I did. It looks fantastic. Not only did they do fine prep and painting work, they tended to details I hadn't even requested. They installed trim pieces I needed replaced and polished the original hardware. These little things make such a difference in the overall appearance. I highly recommend this company.

I am so grateful to have found Cook & Sons. The owner, Antoine Cook, and his team (Michael, his son Antoine, and Andrew) did fantastic work repairing the plaster in my 1920s home. When I purchased the place in May, wood paneling covered most of the walls and dark, heavy floor-to-ceiling drapes spanned the rest. After removing it all, I discovered the plaster in every room needed major repairs. Efflorescence, cracks, crumbling walls, tons of holes (from nails in the wood paneling), gaps in the corners where the walls came together - you name it. I also had removed two interior walls, so new metal lathing and plaster in a few spots on the ceiling was needed as well. Mr. Cook and his team spent three weeks restoring and repairing it all. In some places, they had to take it down to the brown coat to fix it properly. They also dug the cracks out. After they finished a myriad of repairs, they applied a new skim coat throughout. It looks stunning. I couldn't be more pleased. In addition to the fine workmanship they did, they also displayed a warm demeanor and top-notch professionalism. I really enjoyed having them in my home.

The staff were on time, all of them were extra ordinary professional and VERY polite. The work consist of covering the floor before work and clean the work area everyday after work. The entire work was wonderful. I instructed Mr Cook I wanted the same color we had and he did exactly what we wanted and even better.Our house feels like a new place. We will hire the Cook & Sons again.

They came out and gave us an estimate on a Saturday and completed the job the next day. They were careful to lay out plastic sheeting and did a great job cleaning up afterward. A+

I have used Cook & Sons several times to patch and repair plaster inside our home. This project was to restore the curved ceiling at the underside of the attic stairs. As always, they did a fantastic job and managed the dust and debris in a decent manner.

Antoine was extremely client-oriented and responsive. His team is highly skilled in stucco and I recommend him highly! He also matched the most competitive offer and beat the competitor's timeline by 4 weeks!

They had to come back a second time because the first layer of plaster they did began to show the cracks again.

Cook and Sons LLC are excellent. They did a pretty big job for us in September 2014 which involved plastering and painting over where a repair had been done to our stairwell wall and replastering and painting a hole in our kitchen ceiling from a water leak. They were extremely prompt and provided clear explanations of what they planned to do and a quote broken down into different elements so we could really see what different parts of the job were going to cost and 'opt out' of pieces if we wanted to. The work was done quickly and very well. The team were really pleasant and very flexible in working around our family. About 6 months after the plaster and painting work on the stair wall was completed, a crack started to appear around the edges of the plaster work they'd done. I called Cook and Sons and they sent someone over the same day to take a look. The old dry wall seems to be shifting, putting stress on where the work was done. Now - it would have been very easy for them to say that this wasn't their problem and propose an expensive fix. As it was, Mr Cook said that 6 months was too short a time to see those cracks appear and that they would replaster (and put some special tape) over the cracks and repaint for us - all at no further cost. Again, the work was done quickly, cleanly and very well. Cook and Sons genuinely care about customer service and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I expected Cook and Sons to merely paint the entire condo. They went above and beyond. They corrected the work of the previous painter. They also saw parts of the drywall that were starting to separate and they fixed that as well. I ended up speaking with Antoine Cook several times and every time it was clear and professional. We used them previously for another condo that they also did a great job and and I plan to use them again for another investment property.

Overall very well,. There is one spot they will re do and there was no issue in them adjusting to come back and fix it. They are professionals for many years and we are very very pleased to have found a company who can fix old homes that have professional molding and plaster. The price seemed high but worth it. The work was over a three week period.

It went fine. They did a very nice job but subsequently I’ve had problems, which is what they did. They simply diverted the leak to a different area. The workers were very nice. They were very prompt. They left the area very clean. I would tell a friend that they do a very nice job.
