I'm a Navy wife with 2 kids. We moved into a home that had a chimney that was very congested and didn't know it. When it clogged, during the frigid winter of CT, after my husband was deployed, these guys came in within 24 hours and fixed it. The issue was not planned but they worked with me to resolve the financial side of it to make sure our home was heated and my kids stayed warm and we had hot water. I will NEVER forget how kind and generous these guys were ...from the friendly and helpful gal on the phone to the workers on my totally slippery, frost covered roof. I didn't plan on this mess but these guys were so wonderful. I will never forget their kindness. Thank you Safeside! I chose them to call because of their cute lil graphic (I'm a freelance illustrator/graphic designer) but I'm so grateful they were there to help us when my husband was deployed. Their quote man had to call the office to add another One Thousand Dollars to my quote, saying they would have to build scaffolding on the roof to install the chimney liner. The installers came. I asked how they would be installing the scaffolding. They told me they wouldn't be any need to install scaffolding AND THEY DIDN'T!!! The installers said estimators are paid to over-estimate. This estimate, for labor and materials that weren't even required, increased my cost (quoted over the phone-roughly) was about $1,800. After the estimator was done, he increased the cost for the scaffolding by $1,000- and the total went from $1,800 to $2,800 representing a 55% increase over the original estimate. It would not have been so bad, so insulting, had it not been for the fact that I had raised the costs issue with both installers and neither did anything about it. Unfortunately I was forced to hire a contractor to install my stove and their liner as I am recovering from prostate cancer and was unable to complete the job I had started. If Safeside gives quotes over the phone and then the estimator increases the charge by $1,000 for labor that would never be performed, customers need to be aware of their tactics so they aren't ripped off. I also wish to give credit where due. The estimator did reduce the total of the proposal by $300 so in the end I was only charged $700 for Safeside to install staging that the install crew said wasn't necessary. The install crew pulled the chimney liner from the inside of the house to the top of the chimney in about 10 minutes. They used no staging. They slid my stove in place, connected the chimney liner to the stove and were all done in about 2.5 to 3.0 hours! If I had not been over charged, or if the extra charge were refunded, I would have rated them higher!

People were nice...explained things...my first experience with chimney flues...Price higher than expected because I needed triple cap mine was causing moisture and breakdown breakdown they said.Allowed them to install new one...should have waited on that part...could have purchased cheaper elsewhere...But otherwise good service nice people

Very professional, courteous and gave recommendations which will be carried out in the spring.

We were given a 4 hour window which they missed by an hour. When we called to get an update, the customer service agent made a comment about the weather (not sure, but that specific day we were in the 60's), and attempted to reschedule. When my wife explained to them that we took the day off to be here, their response was ,"Well, we didn't ask anyone to take the day off." Unfortunately, my job is the reason we can pay you to do the work. The guys who came in were great. I had two other incidents with customer service previous to the last conversation that went just as well.

Workers were very courteous and knowledgeable, giving advice on the best way to handle a couple of issues. They were not pushy in trying to sell anything I didn't need, which is much appreciated. Definitely will use them in the future.

The techs arrived on time and did a super job. My furnace has an unusual chimney arrangement the other companies have found too difficult to clean. But it was no problem for the Safeside techs who figured out the best approach, and completed the cleaning very quickly with NO mess whatsoever. I will be using Safeside for my chimney cleaning needs from now on.

The chimney sweep climbed up on the roof, put the tool down the chimney twice, then climbed down and handed us the bill. He left 15 min after he arrived. We had to hire someone else to do the job right. Scheduling/office staff were very pleasant.
