Provided very quick service and was able to squeeze me in that day. Very reasonably priced and would definitely use again.

Provider came to my home within 10 minutes of calling after telling me he was not supposed to work today.( Awesome) He inspected all the connections to my hot tub and reassured me that nothing electrical was wrong with the hot tub, it was something with the hot tub.

After reading the positive reviews on Angies List I contacted Calkins Elec. through Angies List to perform this minor work at my home . I was contacted within an hour and because my schedule was flexible the following week I provided 3 mornings I would be home. On the morning of the scheduled day I received a call from the electrician estimating they would arrive in approx. 1/2 hour which they did. It was a team of an apprentice and a veteran electrician. They worked quickly and as a team and in approx. 1 hour hey were done. It was not the type of job that Mr Calkins could retire on at $140.00, but it was treated like a $6,000.00 job with the utmost efficiency and professionalism. I have an older home and I suspect it will need more electrical work in the future. Fortunately I will no longer stress on finding an quality electrician contractor. If you live in S.E. Ct. you cannot go wrong with this company.

We needed an inspection done on a foreclosure, with results in writing in order for the electric company to turn the power back on. Chris Calkins was terrific. He promptly answered our calls, and since he was in the area, accommodated us by fitting us into his busy schedule. He performed the inspection the next day. Thoroughly, quickly and efficiently, and even gave advice on ways to make the house more energy efficient. Noticed a minor issue and made an on the spot repair at no extra cost. Electricians are apparently not cheap! But that being said, Calkins and his team are fully licensed, experienced and very knowledgable. He was also friendly and easy to talk to, and I would definitely recommend him and use his services in the future if needed!

My phone calls were answered promptly and scheduled work was completed on time. Chris (Calkins) organized three visits and supervised his crew efficiently. The men wore company shirts and handled themselves in a professional manner at all times. They were very helpful with planning for new light fixtures and hanging them at the right height. Work areas were protected from dirt and cleanup was exemplary. Chris and his assistants made a variety of jobs very easy for me. The prices seemed fair and the work was excellent. If there were ratings of A+ for service, I would give them to this company.

He came over and gave us a much better quote than a competitor. He kept contact with me constantly. He removed the old brick lamp post holder and replaced it with a new lamp post. He cleaned up very well. He did a great job, and we were very pleased with the work. I would highly recommend him.

We called to get an estimate for a generator to give us back up power in case of a storm. Our call was returned very promptly and Dave came out within a day or two to evaluate the situation. He suggested a portable generator that could be wired into our electrical service. We agreed on the size of the generator and the cost of the generator, the other equipment needed and the electrical work. The generator was ordered and came in within the two week estimated time. When it came he called and made an appointment to do the work within a few days. Dave and an assistant arrived on the agreed upon day at the agreed upon time. He worked with us to select the circuits to be backed up, set up the generator, installed the necessary switching equipment and made sure everything fit together. The work was done in one afternoon. It was done professionally. The price we paid was the exact price of the estimate. We could't be happier with the outcome and would certainly use Calkins Electric for all our future electrical needs.

Very professional from start to finish. Chris came out and saw a way to save me money without sacrificing quality. His crew was professional, friendly, and gave me some ideas for adding a generator switch in the future. If I do Calkins will get my business. They followed up with a phone call to make sure I was happy with the service. They took care of everything from permits to arranging for inspection. First rate.

It went well. Arrive on time and finished in about 5 hours. Installed cable from utility hook-up, meter box and breaker box and transfer switch. Recognized an issue with the feed from the pole and had the electric company replace the cable from the pole to the house. - I would highly recommend Calkins Electric and will use them again for any future electrical work.

We found Chris on Angies list , sent him an e-mail ( actually goes to his phone). I received a response the same day with an estimate and scheduled the work 5 days ahead. Chris called me the next day and said he had some time and would be glad to do the work earlier than scheduled. He actually came to my house at lunchtime so I did not have to miss time on the job. He completed the work and the fee was lower than the estimate.

This is my second experience with Calkins Electric and it went as great as the first. Everything I asked to be done was completed in a timely manner, very neat, polite and explained EVERYTHING so I would understand what was being done and why. Discussed future projects, made suggestions to improve around the house and even offered additional services to facilitate other home projects underway. Chris is a very respectable business man. He gives a homeowner a sense of pride in his work and leaves nothing undone. I look forward to future projects with Calkins- such as installing a generator. Excellent service, price and attitude!!

Chris spent extra time to work on my generator to get it started and ensure it was running properly. He ensured I had all the connections I would need if we lost power and took the time to show me how everything worked. There was an issue with the pool electrical inspection and Chris came out right away to resolve all issues to the inspector's satisfaction. He again walked me through how to work the pool timer and ensured everything was working to my satisfaction before leaving.

It went great. Chris and crew were very professional, courteous, friendly. Worked diligently till job was completed. Made excellent suggestions and made sure everything was to code,

I had a difficult time finding an electrician who would be willing to provide the services I needed as our house does not have an accessible attic. All the work had to be done from the ceiling surface. Mr. Calkins and Alex not only performed the work requested but did it in a timely manner and at a very good price. When they were finished with the job, they cleaned up so well I had absolutely nothing to do myself. It was a pleasure working with this company and I hope to recommend them to all my friends and neighbors.

They came right away, as I called that morning and they came out after one other appointment. Very nice and polite, no problem with removing shoes as requested. Diagnosed the problems quickly and fixed them. Very sensitive to my fear of cats getting outside, they were very careful and gave attention to my curious "loves to watch people work" kitty. Was not charged an emergency fee because I used Angie's list.

He had to wait for the electric company to come, they were late. Calkins did not charge us for the extra it took.
