I was told technician would be at my house first thing in the morning and he arrived at 8:00am promptly. After taking the unit apart and contacting the manufacturer it was determined the electrical board was burnt out. With the board not working it could not be determined if any other parts were damaged from the lightening. The technician advised me of my options and advised the office of my decision. Within 2 business day I had a quote for replacing the unit and repairing the unit. I am always amazed at the professionalism and knowledge of the entire staff at Tyler Heating. Because of the confidence I have in Tyler Heating I am considering converting from oil to gas and will hire only Tyler Heating for the job.

As luck would have it, our old steam boiler stopped working on the coldest weekend of the winter. The gas company serviceman gave us a shady sounding referral to his buddy, and we luckily decided to shop around a bit. Tyler was at our house within an hour on a Saturday afternoon, and thoroughly explained all the exciting details about how our boiler had failed us and our options for replacing it. By this point it was late afternoon Saturday and they were not able to get the new boiler until Monday. It was also 5 below outside and the house was down to 55 degrees. They offered several times to let us borrow space heaters (we'd already gone to buy some), gave us some other tips on keeping the house warm, and also walked us through exactly what to do to keep our pipes from freezing. The installation guys were here at 7:30 Monday morning and had the painful task of taking our old dinosaur boiler out, bringing the new 500 lb one in, and doing the whole installation during a snowstorm while the house was freezing. They were friendly, neat, and worked nonstop for 11 hours to get it done. They covered the floors with drop cloths, and the utility area where the boiler sits was literally cleaner after they left than it was when they got here. Can't recommend Tyler enough!

Very neat apperance and professional manners. Found the cause of the issue and long story short I need to replace the furance. About an hour later Tyler had sent a salesman over to go over my options. The salesman "Bob" was also very professional and no pressure.

After sales person left we sent in signed contract, and work started one week later. The men were on time and took out old furnace and put in new one. They cleaned very well and were very nice.

I contacted this company to request a service call to a rental property. They quoted me $89.99 for a diagnostic fee, which would be deducted from the service call should they complete the repair for me. Needless to say that did not occur. They also charged $70+ for a part which Amazon has listed for $17. They would not renegotiate a fair price and threatened to send my account to a collection agency. Not worth damaging my credit for such a small amount, but this is nothing short of a bait and switch operation. Very deceptive business practices.

It went excellent. We were very pleased with the results.

We have had chronic problems with our HVAC system and duct work. We had left many messages for help but were very patient when we learned that one of the Tyler brother’s David had passed away. When we could not get a response and that they had gone our of business we worked through our General Contractor Taleen Construction to try to fix the problems and after many failed attempts, Taleen funded help from our oil company Gault. Gault made some adjustments to the dampers but it was never enough. Ultimately they sent us to a very experienced duct expert with 30 years of experience named Joe Filippo, owner of Central Sheet metal in Westport. He told me he had never seen a system so poorly designed and that the duct work need to be replaced and redesigned. Joe suggested I hire an engineer to do calculations to design a new approach. Exasperated, I called Tyler again and spoke to the brother Richard who signed to permit. He told me they would send someone that that day he did- two men came and reviewed the system for about an hour. The two workman confirmed that there was indeed something wrong and confirmed that there was about a 15 degree disparity with the two upstairs bedrooms rooms where Tyler had put in a new air handler and duct work. The workers explained that the original Tyler staff had all been replaced and there was nobody at Tyler who knew about our implementation. They did not seem surprised that we were having issues. They said they would talk with the owner you and call me that day for next steps. They never called and later claimed to have no record of the job which we were able to prove otherwise. They then tried to blame on the GC, the one who had been supportive. We spent over $200K on an addition and literally cannot use one of two bedrooms as it is either too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer. Tyler has been nothing but unethical, unresponsive and unprofessional and I hope this service helps others not make the error we did in hiring them.
