Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I have had a lot of experience with them in the past. They have been very good. They are prompt and have reasonable rates.

My pregnant wife was home, so I didn't meet the plumber and I did not discuss the price with her until after the work was done. The work appeared straightforward and took a little over one hour. The invoice states that labor was almost $500!

When they realized that it needed to be more extensive, they came out the next morning to do the work getting the permit cleared with the Health Department. I was pleased with the outcome of the work and would use them again.

The time scheduled for the appointment was for 9-11am. Roto Rooter called and said that they could not get a plumber to my house until 12-2pm. They arrived around 1:30pm. They assessed what I wanted to be done and quoted me a phenomenally crazy price of $950. I did need the leaky pipe fixed and the ball valve installed but the other projected were curbed with that price. The installation and repair when well. After they were finished I inspected their work which was fine. The issue I had with this plumber was that he did not clean up after he were finished. He did not initially place a bucket under the pipes he was working on allowing some of the water to spill onto the basement floor. Instead of mopping it up they just left it for me to clean up along with the solder droppings from the pipe repair. When it was time to pay I felt like I was getting ripped off although I know plumbers are expensive but $400 just in labor seems a little steep in my opinion.

The service of people who performed the repair was great - they replaced the leaking portion of the pipe, were courteous and explained everything. However, to get them to the site was a horrible experience. We called the company on 12/20/08; they said that they would have someone next day (12/21/08) before 3PM. That never happened. We called them twice closer to 3PM to see when the technician was coming, they kept promising. Finally, someone called us at around 4:30 PM and told us that, due to bad weather, there would be nobody available. We asked, 'Why nobody came before 3PM'. They responded, 'Sorry, we do not know'. We rescheduled the visit till 12/22/08 for the technician to come by 8PM. That again did not happen. After our repetitive request, they finally sent us someone from another state and they came at 10PM. By the way, when asked over the phone about license and insurance, we were told verbatim, ' We do not have it on file. Ask the guys who come. Do you need a job done or not, because we have two other people who need work too?' When the technicians came they showed us an invoice form with the CT license # (PLM) 203335. We checked, - it was valid, but had a state complain in 2005. They also told us that they had insurance, but failed to present any proof of it. Although, the technicians, who performed the actual repair, were excellent, we DO NOT recommend the services of Roto-Rooter. It is solely because of the fact that they threatened us with refusal to perform the work after having been asked about their credentials and the fact that they were not punctual at all. Their price is a bit high, but it is the least of their problems.

The gentleman arrived on time (and shortly beforehand to let us know he was coming. He looked at our sink and pipes and explained what needed to be done. He provided a quote for labor and an approximate quote for parts. He did not charge for the quote, whereas another company we contacted wanted $95 just to come to the house and give a quote. In his favor, that $95 would have been put towards any work we hired him to do. The work was done quickly and well. Our kitchen pipes were redone so that they are now in compliance with law regarding traps. The technician fixed the toilet only for the cost of the part.

Ely showed up promptly for the appointment. While the job proved a bit more difficult than he or I expected, Ely did an exemplary job of unclogging it. He is competent, patient, decent and (most important) keeps his word. I would do business again with Roto Rooter (and especially with Ely). What an exemplary employee, and decent young man!

Our water heater sprang a leak which I discovered at 10.30 on a Friday night. We called for service and they sent someone the next morning at 9.30 a.m., as promised. It took their representative until 2.30 to remove the old heater, fetch a new one and install it. He was courteous, helpful and competent. I've no basis on which to judge the cost, but this was an emergency and it was well handled from my perspective. I'd use them again, not having a plumber whom I could easily use for this kind of service.

I called and they said they would be out within the hour. They arrived 2 hours later after a second call. I showed the plumber to the water heater and he quoted me a price of $1,200.00 and ran, yes, literally RAN out of my house with out saying another word. DO NOT USE ROTO-ROOTER. THEIR PLUMBERS ARE JUST PLAIN RUDE!

They did a great job. I wanted someone to come and fix the faucets right away and they were very responsive. They came fast and finished the job fast too. Thats all I needed from them but I know that they offer a wide variety of plumbing services if needed.

THEY ARE DEFINITELY A RELIABLE COMPANY TO CALL FOR ANY TYPE OF PLUMBING NEEDS. WE HAVE USED THEM FOR A LONG TIME AND THEY RESPOND RIGHT AWAY. THEY HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

THIS COMPANY HAS EMPLOYEES THAT ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL, POLITE, AND COURTEOUS. THEY HAVE QUICK SERVICE AND THEYRE ON TIME FOR ALL THEIR APPOINTMENTS. I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE. I WILL BE CALLING THEM BACK FOR ANY OTHER PROBLEMS I HAVE.

THEY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB. THEY TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND HOW THEY WERE GOING TO FIX IT. THEY DID QUALITY WORK FOR ME THAT WAS VERY AFFORDABLE.

THEY WERE VERY QUICK TO RESPOND TO MY CALL. THEY ALWAYS PRODUCE QUALITY WORK. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS BEST PART OF THEIR COMPANY. I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THEM AGAIN.

I WAS NOT CHARGED EXTRA MONEY, EVEN THOUGH THEY CAME OUT TO MY HOME AFTER HOURS. THEY WERE ALSO OUTSTANDING AT GETTING THE PROBLEM FIXED RIGHT AWAY SO WE COULD GET ON WITH OUR NIGHT.

THEY ARRIVED ON SCHEDULE AND WERE VERY THOROUGH WITH THE WORK THAT THEY DID. I HAVENT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANY OF MY DRAINS SINCE THEN. THAT IS EXCELLENT. THEY WERE HONEST AND HARD WORKING.

MY SINK GOT STOPPED UP AND THIS COMPANY DID A GREAT JOB CLEANING THE DRAIN OUT. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH MY KITCHEN SINK SINCE THEY CAME OUT AND DID A GREAT JOB.

ONE THING THAT I REALLY LIKED ABOUT THIS COMPANY IS THE HIGH QUALITY WORK THAT THEY PROVIDE AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE. NO ONE WANTS TO SPEND TOO MUCH MONEY TO HIRE A COMPANY. THEIR PRICES KEEP ME COMING BACK.

THEY DID WHAT I WANTED DONE. THEY WERE CLEAN AND CLEANED UP WELL. THEY WERE VERY PUNCTUAL. ALL THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE PROFESSIONAL. I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE JOB PERFORMED.

I WOULD DESCRIBE THEIR SERVICE AS ADEQUATE, BUT THEY ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE. IT IS VERY CONVENIENT TO KNOW THAT THE JOB WILL GET DONE, AND THAT THEY WILL ALWAYS BE READY TO SHOW UP RIGHT AWAY.

THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. ALTHOUGH THEY WERE A BIT EXPENSIVE, I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THEM. THEIR STAFF WAS COURTEOUS AND CLEANED UP WELL AFTER THEMSELVES.

THEY WERE RESPONSIVE TO MY CALL. THEY WERE RELIABLE AND PUNCTUAL. THEY DID A GOOD JOB AND WERE NEAT AND CLEAN. THEY ARE A GOOD COMPANY TO HAVE WHEN YOU NEED A PLUMBER.

THIS COMPANY IS REALLY GREAT. THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT QUICKLY. THE PLUMBER WAS VERY RESPECTFUL AND KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. IT WAS NICE THAT HE HAD ALL THE NECESSARY TOOLS TO FIX THE PROBLEM VERY QUICKLY.
