I sent 3 emails with questions. None of them got response. Some of the items found during the inspection was not included in the report. They just do "visual" inspections from a distance most of the time. Complete waste of money, stay away from these guys.

Sherwood was excellent to work with. Very professional, high quality report. Lots of detail and pictures. I'd use them again.

I scheduled a home inspection with Sherwood Inspections on a Thursday. As anyone who has gone through the home buying process knows, you only have ten days to get the house inspected. I was told to call back and confirm the tentative appointment. I called all day on Friday with no luck. The phone was either busy or said that it was disconnected. I then called back Monday with success and was told the appointment was scheduled for Wednesday and I was all set. Wednesday morning I called to confirm my appointment again and confirm the method of payment and was told that I in fact did not have a scheduled home inspection. Not only did I take the afternoon off from work, which was difficult to do, I also had my parents here to babysit my son. The front office needs more organization with their scheduling system. If an office can't correctly schedule a home inspection, it makes me wonder how thorough the actual home inspection would be... We decided on going with another home inspection company that was able to fit us in right away and sent an email to confirm as I was on the phone with them. Red Flags: - Unable to contact via phone - No email confirmation - Inconsistency with the front office - We were told Radon is only in the air so they would not test the water

The experience was a good one. My wife and I are first time home buyers, and we are moving into a completely new area. We were anxious about the whole process, especially considering that both of us are not the handiest of people when it comes to home repairs. Eric Rowe handled our inspection. My wife wasn't able to attend the inspection, but I was there for the whole time. Eric was at the house before me and as other reviewers noted, yes, he comes with water and snacks. The man was super concerned about us. He repeatedly stopped the inspection to make sure I was following along and asked if I had any questions. Eric climbed, crawled, and touched every reachable surface/space of that house. As long as I felt comfortable, I was welcome to follow along. I joined him in the attic where he was busy taking photos and pointing out areas of potential water leaks. I let him climb onto the roof alone, but he had plenty of pictures to show me when he came down. I was him when he checked out all the kitchen appliances and when we discovered that the oil tank was bone dry so we couldn't check the furnace and hot water operations. Eric didn't flinch at the dry oil tank though. He said he would come back when he picked up the radon test results and could finish the furnace inspection then. We arranged with the seller to put some oil in the tank, and was able to inspect the furnace, heat, and hot water items with my wife this time too. Eric took the time to explain the furnace and how it worked, and how it heated our water. The man is bottom line, a professional who cares about his job and cares about providing service and education to the client. I really felt that the inspection was just as much an education on home system functions than just an inspection. Because of the VA loan we went through, I had to order a bunch of extra inspections, so our price was a bit more than others. $395 was Sherwood's bare bones inspection fee at the time. Each extra service added to the price. You won't be dissatisfied with Sherwood. Great team all around.

So first of all, who buys a house in February in New England? Especially this February. Undaunted, our inspector Eric came out during a full-on horrible blizzard. He started by wading through thigh deep snow to inspect as much of the outside of the house as he could. Then came inside and inspected top to bottom. Showed us every area of concern and made a few suggestions for strategies to approach the problems when we buy the house. Since the house was built in 1951 it has a fair number of quirks and I think we've seen all of them now. He was pleasant, professional took his time and carefully explained what he was looking at and why. I was very impressed. Would strongly recommend this company, especially Eric. Oh yeah, and he also brought snacks.

Eric performed my home inspection. He was fantastic, professional and thorough especially given that my home is a foreclosure. (Also keeping in mind that it was 5 degrees outside and my home didn't have heat at the time of inspection). He arrived on time and even brought water and snacks for us while he performed the inspection. He spent about two hours going through my 1100 sq ft home. He then sent the report the same night as the inspection was performed. His report was very thorough and organized giving detail of everything that needed attention, marking what required immediate attention versus what could wait or would need to be addressed down the road. Well worth the time and money spent.

We are getting our first house. this inspection company is referred by my agent. Chad came much earlier than the time we scheduled in the morning. he taught us everything we should know about our house. he is very professional. i would recommend them in the future.

Ed from Sherwood Inspection Services LLC was amazing. He crawled everywhere when inspecting my house and gave me a 57 page report. He was here before he said he would be here. He showed me everything that he saw was a problem. He took thousands of pictures of anything that was difficult and might be a question. He climbed up and he was running around on the rafters in the garage and he was crawling in the garage. He was extremely thorough, I was thrilled. He was extremely pleasant to work with.
