We got a quote from 2 other plumbers and they said they needed 2 guys and 2+ hours for about $400-500!!! Ridgefield Plumbing was honest and sent 1 experienced plumber and did the job in 1 hr for $140. My cast iron radiator started leaking all over our wood floors. It was a unique old in-wall unit 21 pipes. May have been from the recent freezing weather or just rust. We called Ridgefield after hours and their answering service was very responsive and we got a call back from John in minutes. Great response. John came out immediately and turned off the leak. We wanted to replace the radiator so he went back to his shop to see if he could find a replacement. Unfortunately there wasn't one. They rescheduled to come out to cap-off the 2 pipes going in/out of that radiator. The plumber who came out was punctual, professional and did the job in about an hour. If I didn't know a little about plumbing I could have been duped by these other guys into paying an outrageous amount of money for a relatively simple job (you simply shut off the water to that zone, cut the old pipes, and cap them; then bleed the air out and check to see if it all works). Ridgefield Plumbing has received an advocate and a loyal customer. I'm going on their Facebook page to give them a great plug! (Note to home repair providers: You can't earn enough by misleading practices to compensate for great word of mouth advertising like this.)

While everyone at Ridgefield Plumbing and Heating have always been professional, their communication has been frustrating. I called them back in early November to come and unclog a shower and to look at a small leak in the ceiling of our kitchen. They cut a hole in the kitchen ceiling and found a leak. At this point they discovered that they apron of the shower was probably the cause and recommended that we replace the whole apron of the shower, which would require a complete demo and re-tiling of the entire shower. At this point, we did not have a tile person and Ridgefield Plumbing recommended someone they worked with. i called him and he did not get back to me for three weeks! At that point I had found another tile person and they had come and give me an estimate. The original person finally got back to me and did apologize for taking so lng to call back. I was okay with that and asked him to come and give me an estimate. He came and then I waited another two weeks for the estimate! So I decided to go with the first people. After the tile demo was complete, I called Ridgefield Plumbing to come back and they sent someone out. (One other issue I have...this is not a drain clog type of problem, and I would have to wait a day for a call back to make an appt). So they came back and told me now I had to get a carpenter to lay the subfloor wood. I thought that was something they would do? They told me they would come back when that was done. I again asked if they had a carpenter, and they told me they would give me his number, but no one ever called me back from Ridgefield Plumbing. So the original tile people had a plumber they used. I used them, they did a great job getting the plumbing done and I now have a new shower. Also, with regard to the clogged shower, I had them out three times to fix the shower in a matter of weeks. Each time it clogged again within a day or two, and they charged me every time they came out for the same problem. While very nice, nothing was completed by them.

My heating pipes froze on a Sunday during a recent cold snap and I called 6 plumbers from Angie's list. Ridgefield plumbers use an answering service staffed by a friendly woman who assured me they would call right away, and they did! Out of the six plumbers I called, Ridgefield was the only company to call back. He explained in advance that his Sunday hourly rate was doubletime and made sure I understood and was agreeable. He came 30 min later, moved furniture, worked quickly and cleanly and was done within the hour. He pointed out potential problems with my furnace and spoke to my oil company (who followed along later that day). I am very happy with Ridgefield plumbing and recommend them without hesitation.

They were here ever so quickly. The job was actually even done on a Sunday. This was an emergency and they were here on the spot. It took them about a couple of hours and he all the equipment in his truck. Their price was fair. We were confident with their letter grade on Angie's List so that is why we went with this company. As it turned out they also did a great service for us. Their rep, Manny and he gave us a couple different options and we chose the lesser of them. What I was impressed with, was there we experienced a little bit of an issue the next day, we placed a call and within one our they were right back out here right away. It was a wiring issue and ever since everything has been working wonderfully.

Figured out the problem we had which was an issue with the pipe leading into the septic tank. There was a blockage causing issues in the house, something we never would have thought of.

The plumber worked from 4PM to 7PM leaving the bathroom where the work was done in very clean condition - only leaving two holes in the sheetrock that I have to fill in, one with a removable cover to access a cut off valve I requested - which should have been in line before. He was personable, and very orderly. What's more, I felt he was extremely trustworthy. I would recommend them highly and we intend to use them to replace the other external faucet and install a cut-off valve. And would certainly call for any new plumbing work. I requested an estimate to replace our laundry room valves as well with a newer cut off valve in the laundry room , and the plumber took a picture of our laundry valves to take back to the office to provide an estimate. After United Cleaning & Recovery removed the walls, carpet, and bathroom fixtures, sanitized the surrounding area and dried it out, during the last snow storm, they returned, fixed the split copper waste pipe and reseated a toilet that was moved off its wax ring as we looked for the source of the leak. We were very pleased with their speed to respond and their work ethics.

They were really good. They were very reasonable and we really liked their work. They didn't take advantage of us needing them right away. They were very reliable. They actually had a person who answered the phone, which was nice for a change instead of a machine. It was our first time using them and we would definitely use them again. The price was fair. We were very, very satisfied with them.

The technician came as scheduled, although the time frame was wide and I did wait a long time. He found the problem immediately and ordered the new water tank; he fixed the old one so I could use it a day or so while waiting. They do answer phone calls promptly and come in an emergency no matter how late; they finish the job even if it's 9 PM. Both the technician and his supervisor were very nice, very experienced and professional.. In sum: I would probably hesitate to use this company in the future, only because their prices are a big high; and they don't always arrive on time; otherwise they are excellent once they are here. They are a pleasure to work with. The trade-off may be worth the wait and price.

RidgeField Plumbing came out to clear a clogged kitchen drain pipe. They found the pipes to be totally clogged & could not snake pipes. It was already way after hours (after 9pm) but the young man agreed to stay & replace all the pipes in kitchen & basement pertaining to kitchen drainage. He helped remove the contents of the utility room which were blocking access to pipes & then put everything back & cleaned up after himself when job was completed. Being after hours & not able to contact his boss to figure out the cost of the job, he agreed to just send me a bill. I was a first time customer & couldn't believe he would leave & not take a deposit or anything. He just said we trust that you will pay the bill when it arrives, which of course i did. I was left with a good impression, & was totally happy with the work done.

It took about an hour to complete. Workman was under the sink the whole time. Bravo.

Terrific. They responded promptly ... arrived on time ... cleared up the problem(s) within 30 minutes or so. Very courteous and professional service.

Great, very skillful n efficient

notchAs we were about to leave for the weekend, we noticed a substantial leak in a copper pipe in the basement. Since it was my son'd birthday, and we had to leave for Massachusetts, we had to turn the water completely off. Meanwhile, we called Ridgegefield Plumbing and Heating so that we could schedule for the moment we returned. The repair plumber that appeared was totally prompt, replaced the large portion of defective copper pike with utmost efficiency. I couldn't get over his politeness and professionalism--and cheerfulness, as though he really wanted to do the best job for us. Usually when companies send out employees for smaller job, we've dealt with "second best." This was not the case today. Manny was also kind enough to look at a temperature problem I've been having with my Grohe shower temperature control. He was caring enough to send a photo to his boss to see what a replacement would cost. As it turned out, it was a very expensive choice when I put it in, so I've decided to wait for that job for a while. I will definitely use Ridgefield Plumbing and Heating in the future. My experience with them was top notch!

Manny was professional and helpful and didn't mind that we piled on extra jobs. He simply charged us for the time he was here, a total of 2 hours. While the snaking of the kitchen sink didn't completely resolve the slow drain problem, it is significantly better now than it was before. Manny was extremely conscientious about laying down tarps and using buckets, so there was no mess at all as a result of his visit. Highly recommended.

Everything went great and they did an excellent job. The crew came and fixed the leaky pipe. I will use them again and recommend them to others.

We hired Ridgefield Plumbing to replace a toilet with another (used) toilet that we had been given. After a cursory inspection, the replacement toilet was deemed serviceable and was installed in less than an hour by one technician. It leaked that night. We reported this late at night and received a return call from the owner immediately. John, the owner of Ridgefield Plumbing, came with an assistant the next morning. He examined the toilet in more detail and determined it was not easily repairable. It was replaced with a new standard Toto Drake model that was on their truck. The new toilet works fine. My only complaint was that we were charged more than $250 for labor for 1 1/2 hours for 2 men the 2nd day when the first installation was done by one man in less than an hour. Albeit, our toilet was inspected in more detail the 2nd day (which raises the question: why didn't the first technician more closely inspect the gasket and tank bolts where the leak ultimately occurred?). In the end, we spent over $400 in labor for a toilet installation. In their defense, perhaps it was our folly to attempt to install a used no-name toilet which necessitated a 2nd service call. Ridgefield Plumbing is as responsive as any plumber you will find. Our phone calls are consistently returned promptly. The company offers efficient, personal and professional service. They know what they're doing and they work fast. Their fees seem a tad high to me, but part of that issue may be due to our unique circumstance described above. In the end, however, by stocking a Toto toilet on their truck, they perhaps saved us another service call and the trouble of shopping for another toilet. We would almost certainly use Ridgefield Plumbing again.

He arrived promptly and fixed it quickly.

There are no issues with their service but I think their charges are a bit on the high side. However, I have not shopped around to confirm.

They fixed it quickly and efficiently and explained some best practices to keep it clog-free in the future. The serviceman even looked at our well, explained how often it needed servicing, how to maintain the salt levels, and suggested we change the filters for our yearly service which is coming up (which they also do). As new homeowners this advice and the time he took to explain things was so valuable! I would hire them again in an instant!

Ridgefield plumbing assessed our problems and did repair work and did not make a big deal out of needing to open a wall, which they did very neatly. All in all, they did wonderful work all over our house in a very timely manor.

Fantastic. Instantly picked up phone (never happens with a plumber) offered to come that day (it was a weekend) came as scheduled was punctual got the job done. So excited to actually have a plumber I can rely on , and I can refer! And as a real estate agent who practices in NY and CT that is really important to me...

They are excellent. I've had them out a couple of times. We had just moved into a new house. They were very quick to respond and did a really good job, really pleasant to work with.
