This is the second time I hired Kurt. Kurt is involved in each step of the work. We need to get it done within 1-2 weeks and Kurt managed to fit it in his very tight schedule. The work is done very reliable and excellent and the price is very fair. Definitely will hire him again in future!! Tim

Kurt was very professional and did a fantastic job. He kept me informed. He showed up when he was scheduled and was courteous when taking my work schedule into consideration. He patched the kitchen door molding that had splintered because he saw the need. I would definitely hire Kurt again. Very pleasant to work with.

The service, communication and finished product are top notch. He is reliable, dependable and takes great pride in his work. I would be surprised if there was a better person out there that does this kind of work. If things needed to be added to the job, he communicates very clearly why and then leaves the decision up to you. I never have felt pressured or felt like he's trying to make an extra buck. I would highly recommend him.

There was quite a bit of repair to be done; window sills and wood trim on my modern colonial home. Kurt was very knowledgable and very helpful in determining the best materials needed to make repairs while keeping my budget in mind. The final look was far better than the original workmanship done by the builder by adding the finishing touches of a true craftsman.

Kurt did a terrific job and is great to work with. I appreciated that he kept me informed throughout the job as well as whenever additional problem areas were uncovered (texting pictures and comments). Kurt always presented options for addressing issues, explaining the pro's and con's.

Kurt was prompt and efficient in responding to my call with a visit and an estimate. Due to demand for his services as well as rainy weather, it was several weeks before he could start. But he kept me updated with text messages. Kurt is clearly a master of his craft. A skilled and meticulous carpenter, he obviously takes pride in doing the job right. I was very impressed with the quality of his work and his top notch service. He communicated his progress and alerted me to any issues that arose. He took away the damaged wood and left the work site very clean. Kurt is licensed and fully insured and offers a 1 year workmanship guarantee. Although he is based in Plainville, he covers the entire state of Connecticut. I would highly recommend him and am already lining up future projects for him.

Called and spoke to Kurt to explain the job I wanted done. He said he couldn't get out to my house that day (3-15) but would call in a couple of days to make arrangement to look things over. Today is 3-29 and have not received any contact from him. If he wasn't interested he should have said so or at the very least called in a reasonable time frame to let me know.

Kurt was quick to return my call after my initial inquiry in December and scheduled a time to come over and look at the issues and generate an estimate. At that time I was only looking to repair 2 windows, replace 1 window sill, replace the brick mold around one of the windows and replace damaged corner boards. It took a little while to get the estimate, but Kurt was up front about the fact that he was busy and would be awhile before he could fit it in. When it was finally my turn in the queue, Kurt came back out to refresh his memory about the details of the job and we set a date for him to start working. He started the job and pointed out some of the telltale signs of rot under paint to me. After this I looked much closer at my other windows and found more that needed work. Kurt was happy to add these into the job since he was already there and completed the work in a timely fashion. I have to say that Kurt is very good at what he does. One of my windows was so rotted that when I picked at the bottom of the sash, a giant chunk came off. Kurt took the window apart and fabricated the bottom rail of the sash with an excellent attention to detail. If I didn?t know better you would think it was a factory piece on the bottom and the window now operates flawlessly. If you have any rot issues on your wood windows or need any of the other services he offers, give Kurt a call. I will certainly have him back next time I need an expert.

1. THE OWNER ASKED US TO TEXT HIM PICS OF THE DAMAGED AREA 2. AFTER ASSESSING THE DAMAGE HE CALLED TO FURTHER DISCUSS THE NEEDED REPAIRS AND CONFIRM DATE HE WILL BE ON SITE TO DO THE WORK. 3. ONCE ON SITE UPON INSPECTION OF DAMAGE HE REALIZED THAT THE GUTTER WAS NOT PROPERLY SECURED TO THE FRAME OF THE HOUSE. HE THEN TOOK STEPS TO RESCURE THE GUTTERS USING LONGER SUPPORT BRACKETS AND NAILS. 4. HE ALSO DID MINOR CLEANING OF THE GUTTER. 5. HE TESTED THE GUTTERS ABILITY TO DRAIN WATER CORRECTLY AND PROVIDED EVIDENCE THAT WATER DRAINED FROM GUTTER TO THE DOWN SPOUT. 6. WE ARE TOTALLY PLEASE WITH KURT''S COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO FIXING THE PROBLEM. WE WOULD ENGAGE HIS SERVICES AGAIN IF NEEDED.

I found Kurt through angies list and contacted him based on positive reviews. I called him and set up a time to meet for an estimate. I accepted his estimate and paid a deposit. Kurt brings along a work trailer that he left on my driveway throughout. My house was built in 1932 and has cedar siding. Kurt repaired some areas that needed repair for a while and some that were more recently damaged by woodpeckers. Kurt works diligently, does all work himself. He is easy to communicate with and responsive. His work looks very good and used good quality materials. He did a good job a cleaning up each day. I couldn't be happier with the process. The work done to my house cost 2470. I also referred Kurt to my parents. Kurt also did work on my parent's house next door(built in 1985). He repaired window trim, wood siding, repaired rotted sections of their screen porch. The work on their house cost about 2700. My parents were also very satisfied with Kurt's communication, the quality of the work and the cost of the project. Thanks Kurt!

I found Kurt had a good deal for wood restoration on Angies List so I decided to give him a call. I contacted him by phone on 9/11/15 and told him the issue with my bay window. He told me to text him my address and all my contact information and he would get back to me. So I waited to hear back from him. On 9/30 I decided to contact him since he apparently wasn't getting back to me. He instructed me to send him my information again and he would put it on his work sheet. For the next couple day we couldn't seem to work out a time where we could meet at my house so he told me to just send him pictures of the damage and he would work from those. I sent him a bunch of pictures on 10/4 and waited for a response. On 10/6 I texted him again for an acknowledgement that he even got the pictures. He texted right back and said "Got them will have a price for U soon". 16 days later I texted him to see if he was going to be able to do anything for me before the snow falls and I never heard from him again. So apparently if you can get this guy to do work for you he does a good job but I guess sometimes his poor business skills get in the way. Why would someone lie and not just be upfront about it.... I don't get it!

Mr. Buckland did a great job. He arrived and assessed the problems. He provided an accurate estimate for repairs. He provided us with several alternative solutions. His work was impeccable! I would hire him again in a minute. I recommend him to everyone wanting an honest, hardworking, carpenter who gets the job done quickly and completely.

Kurt did an excellent job. He showed up on time, did exactly what he said he was going to and even fixed a few unseen items under the exterior framing at minimal cost. I would not hesitate to hire him again for any carpentry work and, indeed, intend to next Spring to replace some exterior cedar siding that has weathered and cracked over my sun-room. He does excellent work and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
