Belle Home Housecleaning is a full service housecleaning company with offices in Orange and Hamden, Connecticut, employing 25 cleaners and office staff. We specialize in detail cleaning using eco-friendly high-end products. Our office is staffed 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays for your convenience. We are fully insured and bonded. We are delighted to have won both the New Haven Advocate's Reader's Choice Award for Best Cleaning Service and the Angie's List Super Service Award. Weekly, Biweekly Triweekly or monthly service; also one-time movein, moveout or seasonal cleanings. Detail is our specialty - baseboards, window sills and frames, corners, under furniture - we get to the nitty gritty using Earth-friendly products and equipment.

We could not provide all the services she wanted without raising the price to cover the extra time her cleanings were taking. Thank you for your review - we wash breakfast dishes, or a few dishes left in the sink - but a sinkful of dishes, pots, and pans to be handwashed does cut well into our cleaning time and we generally do not wash a couple of days worth of dishes unless that is how the customer wants us to spend our time. Description of Work: Emily did an excellent job. This is the second time I have purchased a special from Angie's list for this company and I highly recommend them. I am hoping to continue their visits if I can work out a routine with my work schedule. They clean thoroughly and check in if they have a question if they have not met you before. Over the years I have had a number of indiviuals come in and so far, this company ranks in the top.

When a home has not been maintained for quite a while, buildup forms, especially in the bathroom(s) - soap and talc , mildew, layers of dust and dirt, shampoo and conditioner film, etc. If the grout hasn't been cleaned, and hasn't been sealed every year or so, it, too becomes built-up and can become discolored as well. Dust, as well, when it isn't removed regularly, can become sticky or crusty. That kind of lapse in maintenance takes more time and labor to get clean – to move items, clean under them, remove the buildup, and bring the surfaces up to our cleanliness standards. This home had not been cleaned in quite some time, and the bathrooms and bedroom took a good deal of time and effort (and cleaning products, which we supply) to scrub clean - which is where most of this customer’s coupon time was applied to. The cleaners offered to stay for several more hours at a discounted rate to clean her kitchen, but the customer declined. Unfortunately there is no magic wand to wave that will dispel grime and soil – just premium, effective, cleaning products combined with old-fashioned elbow grease. The homeowner’s disappointment is not with our service or the end result of our cleaning and sanitizing the bathrooms and bedroom (they came out beautifully fresh and clean), but with the time it took us to remedy many (many) months of neglect. We are happy to clean all of our customer's homes, no matter what shape they are in - but do want homeowners to know that it takes longer to clean the very first time a home is cleaned - especially if there has been a long lapse in time between cleanings.

We do assign two cleaners to every customer, and one alternate, in case one of your regular cleaners is out (the alternate is a senior cleaner or Field Office Manager.) That way, we do not have to cancel service on your scheduled cleaning day, should one of our cleaners be sick, on vacation, etc. We've found that assigning two cleaners and an alternate allows for more consistent service. In the year since we cleaned for the members, we have instituted a new policy of assigning two cleaners to each customer. Since we did not want to have different cleaners cleaning each time, previously we assigned one cleaner to each customer. When that one assigned cleaner was on vacation, sick, chaperoning school trip, etc. , we would send an alternate, who may have been unfamiliar with the home. Assigning two cleaners to each client has provided consistency in cleaning without sacrificing quality. We generally send the two assigned cleaners on the initial cleaning so that they are both very familiar with the home and the homeowners' cleaning priorities, and, on subsequent cleanings, one of the two assigned cleaners provides the service. We have gotten very positive comments on the new policy, which we feel has provided consistency and a "personal touch" in each cleaning we do.

I have been using this cleaning service for a few months prior to the review date. Upon looking for cleaning services in the area it was difficult to get call backs and to have people commit to a date to come take a look and make an estimate for the job. However, this service called back within the day and then came the next day to take a look and give an estimate. I was home the first time the 2 cleaners came and did a "full clean", which did cost more (as estimated)- $69. The full clean included cleaning of the kitchen cabinets and microwave, etc. Making the bed and wiping down tables, etc. The staff were friendly and professional, even when having a conversation with me while pulling undergarments out of the bed they were making. They did a fairly good job. There were a few areas they could have improved upon- such as cleaning floors in the corners behind toilet, etc. A floor scale was overlooked and not wiped down (indeed, there were footprints and dust space all around it). However, overall the service was good and I have continued using the service. In future cleans there was some confusion as to who the cleaners that were coming were and the cleaners obtain access to my apartment through the rental company, so a couple of times they came out and did not get to clean. The manager called and left a message in both cases and was not upset and simply rescheduled. After the clean date was changed, we also had a miscommunication about what day the cleaner was coming next (I assumed 2 weeks from the clean date and she assumed 2 weeks from the original clean date). Ultimately, I came home to a clean apartment- surprise and simply left the money the next time they came. Another time, I came home to a note that the laundry was in the dryer (which was great, as I had forgot to move it before I left for work- avoided smelly clothes that needed to be rewashed!) Overall, a very friendly company to work with and HONEST, hardworking staff. I do not always have everything tidy and they move items into neat piles and work around things to do a great job. Seems as if they do not get paid that much for the job they do, as they get paid by job versus the hour, or so I was told. Therefore, I try to leave a few dollars as a tip for the cleaning staff. If you use this service, just ensure you are CLEAR about SCHEDULES and make SPECIFIC comments and written instructions and they WILL IMPRESS YOU!
