Description of Work: I had an appointment for June 15, 2015. I took the day off, I don't get paid when I take off. Not only didn't they show up, I am still waiting to see if they call to apologize or set a new date. I would like my money refunded as I don't want to do business with a company like this. I plan on canceling my Angie's list account because paying in advance for service is a problem when the provider doesn't show up!

They have earned our trust and repeat business through their diligence, thoroughness, craftsmanship and professionalism. The only rub is that they are expensive. Once the work is completed however you understand why the price/value ratio may be worth it. |The latest repair work I've asked them to give me an estimate on is taking place today ,a leak in the roof that's over my garage.
Description of Work: We have used Homeline Inc to do a myriad of repair jobs and construction projects at our residence for almost a decade.

I got the recommendation from Angie's list. TDS Homeline was quick with an estimate, clearly knew the proper protocol for the job and dealt with a problem on site with efficiency and curtesy. I could not recommend them more highly and will use them as my "go-to" all round service company in the future. Thanks to Angie's list! I had been looking for someone for a long time, and you solved the problem!

communication was wonderful. appointment and recommendations were good, the price was just too hefty for me for what would be 3 days of work. ($4200) I did not receive a breakdown of labor and materials, just a total quote. I thought the pricing was a bit steep so did not use this service.

A wonderful, easy and heartening experience!
Description of Work: I had a complicated project, so I interviewed several companies. I chose Homeline because I felt they understood the project and would be meticulous in their approach and work. I also felt quite confident about the owner, Don Freitag, and I was correct. I had the entire interior of a barn painted, including the floors. This was a challenging project, because all the beams, ceilings and floors had to be sealed prior to painting, and the (white!) painted floors would have to withstand wear and tear without chipping. The large kitchen, including all cabinetry, also had to be painted. Needless to say, the beams and ceilings in a barn are very high, which added to the challenge. This would have been a big project in itself, but I then decided to also have bookcases designed, built and installed in both the living room and the den, a large, very specific mantle created and installed on the stone fireplace in the living room, a bathroom completely gutted and redone, new vanities installed in two other bathrooms and myriad small other projects. Homeline handled it all. They began the project just 2 days after I closed on the home, and they had a deadline of 6 weeks to the day I moved in. I also had to be away for some weeks in the interim. They delivered! I've had horrific experiences with builders and handyman, so I was naturally anxious, but I couldn't have imagined a more wonderful experience. The crew is: unfailingly dedicated, always gracious and polite, neat as can be (they vacuumed the entire site every single night at quitting time!), thoughtful - and extremely knowledgeable. They noted things I wouldn't have thought of, which saved me much time, money and energy. The owner was always available for consultation and the foreman was there every day. All the workers are committed to the project - and thoroughly understand the projects and materials. There are no workers who simply "clock in" with no thought to the result. I know they did meticulous research on various paints and approaches for the floors, and the result is marvelous. I could hardly believe it, but I never had a single bad moment throughout the process. Homeline has been back several times since the original completion. They've done a day or half day of "miscellaneous" work (unrelated to the original project) many times, and they've just completed the brickwork and woodwork on a beautiful fireplace for my daughter in Manhattan. They're currently doing the same in the master bedroom of the barn. I plan to use them to redo the garden, building a patio and gazebo, alter the driveway and sort out some damp issues in the garden. The electricians, plumbers, drainage specialists, heating companies and other contractors they used or recommended to me have all been of equal caliber - simply excellent. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I'd be happy to provide further references.

Don't call unless you can afford to pay 3 times more for courtesy and professionalism.
Description of Work: This company provided very timely estimate with meticulous breakdown of work and costs. However, estimate exceeded 3 times the cost of other providers from the onset. Therefore, we couldn't possibly commit to starting at 3 times what other companies would charge from the start. Very nice people if you want to pay nicely for their courtesy. Would work well for people that have endless money to spend.

Work was supposed to be done in one day. took 2 days. (1) Leak in ceiling was identified as from 2nd floor hallway bathroom tub where HDS said was from loose connection of faucet and handles. Broke open wall to fix pipes and replaced pipes-repaired wall that was opened for repair of leak. Took day and a half to complete.(2) Cause of crack in ceiling was never identified but ceiling was opened up in seven other places in ceiling increasing work to be done. Plumber came and said there was no leak from 2nd master bedroom bathroom which HDS initially claimed was the cause of crack. 2 by 4's were inserted in ceiling where openings had been made. Since ceiling opened up in 8 places, work to repair took 2 days. Initial crack area in ceiling after repair shows slight shadow of where crack was located. Was told whole job would cost 1300.00 to 1700.00. Estimate received after work had started was for 1700.00. Final bill was for 2300.00+. Asked for Sr. discount and was finally billed for 2100.00
Description of Work: (1) Repair of Leak in 1st floor ceiling from 2nd floor bath room plumbing (2) Repair of crack in 1st floor ceiling from - unclear of cause - either from structural weakness in ceiling or from water damage from leak in master bedroom bathroom plumbing

Overall I was pleased with the responsiveness, professionalism and quality. This company responded immediately to send someone out for a very small job, rearranged their schedule to fit me in. They helped move/haul some small items. While it was expensive and they charged for travel time, i was overall pleased with the outcome. I would defniately consider using them again for other jobs.

Homeline, is an exceptional all encompassing home improvement company. Joe Lavalle was the foreman for our jobs and we couldn't have been happier. Joe is attentive, punctual and very knowledgeable. He met all of our needs throughout our 3 main projects. The first project was to replace all the rotting trim work outside our home. The team he put on the job consisted of very experienced woodworker's and the craftsmanship was excellent. The second project was to fully renovate 2 bathrooms. They took the bathrooms down to their studs and constructed two beautiful bathrooms. They installed paneling, custom vanities and closets, detailed mill work, custom tile design and we could not have been happier. The last project Homeline completed was custom paneling and crown molding throughout our main foyer and stairway. Once again, Homeline delivered on all fronts and we are planning on hiring them to do more work in the future. Overall, Joe delivered and his crew went above and beyond and we would recommend them for the most important projects in any home.
Description of Work: Homeline did 3 major jobs on our home. First they repaired and replaced all damaged trim work on the outside of our home. In that process they painted and installed many rotting trim pieces and window frames. Once complete, painting was done to conclude the job Second, they completely renovated 2 bathrooms. Homeline, gutted, framed, and installed custom woodwork to two main bathrooms in our home. Lastly, they installed millwork and detailed molding throughout our home. This consisted of paneling, crown molding and base molding.

I have been working with them on readjusting things and negotiating. I think that the quote experience has been great. They have been really responsive and really quick and I am able to talk to them over e-mails and they get back to me straightaway. When I say let’s look at this, they are right back into it. The other company that I contacted was horrendous and the guy came out and I never heard from him again. The guy was okay, but he was here and took a lot of measurements. He acted like he was serious about it, and he called me and said he would come over and go over the quote in person. I wondered why he came out in person, and I waited here. He told me that he was going to be here at a certain time and never showed up, but TDS Homeline Inc. was the first ones that came out. I called them and they got back to me right away and I got an appointment that was good for me and they came out right away whereas the other company took forever. They did everything by e-mail and they just came by today and I said let’s get this all wrapped up and go over the things. They came over and we had everything on the kitchen counter, negotiated back and forth a little bit and I got the price I was comfortable with. Basically I am giving them the green light to go. I would be paying about $30000 on that service.
Description of Work: TDS Homeline Inc. came out and gave me an estimate for one new window, for residing on two sides of the house, gutters, to replace trim on the other part of the house that was sided before that has rotted and also for painting of the exteriors of the house.

Very unprofessional experience. I contacted this company to come by for an estimate of roof repair and bathroom remodeling. The owner came by, looked at the roof & bathroom, then stated he will get back to me within a few days. Waited a few days, then another weekend passes by, then I call the owner. He says "I'll give you an estimate soon..." wait another few days, owner says he will have an estimate soon, then several days after that, he has his secretary send me an email saying "we don't do roofing work" but she wants to know the budget for the bathroom remodeling before she even gives an estimate. (TRANSLATION: they decided this job was not big enough to be bothered with...however, they will still want to make money off the bathroom remodeling). This company had no qualms about stringing me along for 2 weeks before finally saying "no estimate for the roofing repairs". My mistake was I was too patient with them. This company only cares about big projects, which is fine but then they need to communicate that during the initial phone call or at the least shortly after the home visit. This company will not get any big or small jobs from me nor my neighbors as well. For those reading this review, any small or medium jobs, go to someone else (especially if the repairs are time-sensitive). This company only cares about big jobs (which is fine, but they need to state that upfront, not 2 weeks after a home visit).

From the estimate process to the installation process to the finishing process, everything about working with this company was professional and courteous. Over a 4-day period (because of weather), Don and his team not only showed up on time every day? (unheard of!) and worked in the most efficient and tidy manner, their work was top-notch with absolutely no cutting corners. These guys really knew their stuff, and the finished product is amazing -- a truly professional job that looks great and will certainly last a looooong time. I not only recommend TDS Homeline to anyone doing any type of home repairs or improvement, I can't wait to use them again on my own home. You can't go wrong with this company. How refreshing. . .

We have used TDS Homeline since 2006 for pretty much everything we need done to the house. After years of messing with lousy painters, incompetent masons, and carpenters who took forever to finish a job (some of these highly recommended by friends, and charging a premium), we were so grateful to find Homeline. Their office staff is always pleasant and helpful, their workmen knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and non-intrusive. The workmanship is of the highest quality. We have only had a few minor problems, and they were rectified promptly. For example, after they installed our casement windows, and had painted two of them, I didn't like the color. They repainted them with a new color at no extra charge and made me feel they were more than happy to accommodate. I have to repeat: their workmanship is first rate - painting, carpentry, masonry are all beautifully done. Another nice thing is Don (owner and estimator) keeps in touch regarding scheduling. Jobs go smoothly and quickly. The cleanup is so thorough, you'd never know they'd been there. They raised 2 of the windows in our master bedroom while we were away on vacation. When we got home, it seemed that the windows had raised themselves, because the room was otherwise exactly as we had left it. Homeline's pricing is about 15% above what you would pay if you found the workmen yourself, scheduled them, tried to deal with any problems. We have found it cheaper in the long run because before Homeline, we used to have to have work redone (like the front stoop that crumbled after 5 years, and the window replacements that leaked). I couldn't recommend them more highly.
Description of Work: Had tinted oil applied to shingles on exterior of house, and doors, shutters, and trim painted. Most of interior of house painted including woodwork. Wallpapered dining room. Installed casement windows in sunroom. Tiled floor and wallpapered half bath. Raised 2 windows in a bedroom and replaced moldings. Replaced front and back storm doors. Installed foundation for a new pergola. Removed old driveway and installed new asphalt, with Belgium block apron and edging. Installed brick walk in cement from drive to front stoop. Installed brick walk in sand and a stoop in front of shed. Sealed and stuccoed over 2 basement windows. Re-pointed chimney. Installed Louvre in gable of house for attic fan. Miscellaneous exterior repairs to rotted wood.
