This was one of those "why isn't everyone like this?" experiences. Gary answered my call right away, was very friendly and knowledgeable on the phone, and we set up an appointment for 3 days later. The information I received was thorough, and his website is even more thorough. He arrived promptly at 8:30am and went right to work. Everything was taped, covered, protected by plastic. I didn't see what he was doing, but I know that the tub (which was already clean) was scraped and cleaned immaculately. Every detail was addressed. Gary even took the time to discuss shades of white with me - in order to match the existing toilet and sink - which I really appreciated. The work was done by about noon and all the materials, including the plastic sheeting, were removed. The bathroom was as immaculate as before he arrived. The tub looked brand new - and the shade of white he had chosen was perfect. But Gary even went above and beyond the call of duty. In closing doors to protect rooms from the fumes (which are exhausted through an elaborate system, but some smell remains for awhile) I inadvertently locked the one to my office. Everything was in there: my car keys, pocketbook, cell phone, etc. Gary used his smart phone to find an emergency locksmith for me. And, because my husband was out of town, he also came back the next day to re-attach the overflow valve.

It went really good. They did an excellent job.

Gary is such a nice person and I felt comfortable with him from the moment he walked in the door. That was very important to me. He explained that the tub may need to be refinished sometime down the road but that he would professionally clean it and then we'd have a clearer picture of whether or not it would need to be refinished. I was so delighted with his beautiful cleaning job that we decided to stop right there. It was worth every penny. He also explained how to care for the tub. I highly recommend Gary and his work.

After doing some research and finding the Bathtub Rx, LLC website (http://www.bathtubrx.com/), I sent an email and photo of my tub. Gary responded within an hour (especially amazing since my email was sent at 5:00 on a Friday evening). Our situation was pretty time sensitive since our tenant had just moved out (which is how we learned of the tub damage) and another tenant was scheduled to move in in less than 2 weeks. The next day, Gary confirmed that he could fit us in on Tuesday morning. He arrived exactly when he said he would, did the job quickly, and restored the tub so it looked better than we thought it possibly could. The process was extremely painless and significantly less expensive than other options we had explored. We would definitely use Gary again and will certainly recommend him to anyone we know looking for bathtub refinishing/restoring. He was wonderful!

My Great grandmother moved from Brooklyn in May of 1923 and bought a very large house in Norwalk that had previously been owned by the Lockwood family of Lockwood Mansion fame. After my grandmother died in the 1970s it was managed by my step mother who had no idea what she was doing. Therefore it has been seriously neglected for the past forty years. I am trying to restore it to its past glory. I had just completed a total renovation of a one bedroom apartment in the Lockwood Family Carriage House. Everything came out beautifully except that the original bathtub looked like it had a skin disease. I had a new tenant moving in within a week or ten days and needed high quality help quickly. The phone of the tub refinishers listed on my stepmothers supplier list was disconnected and probably out of business. If they were the ones that previously refinished the tub then they did a poor job and were rightly out of business. Fortunately I found BathtubRX on Angieslist and called and spoke to Gary Mott on Monday 26 June. Gary came out within the hour and looked at the tub. He provided me with extensive information on all the options as well as what he thought was the most appropriate approach under the circumstances. Gary said he would come back on 2 August and do the work or sooner on Friday the 30th of June if possible. Nevertheless he actually stayed and spent three hours removing the old finish so that it was down to the original finish and looked almost new except the finish was a bit flat due to removal of the old finish. He said he would return on Friday if possible to restore/apply the finish gloss coats. As promised he appeared Friday morning and spent several hours restoring the finish cost and recaulked tub as well. Gary did an excellent job. It looks almost new even though it was installed in 1958 and there is no sign of the shoddy previous work that made it look embarrasingly hideous and unacceptable to any new tenant. If ever I need similar work done I will call BathrubRX. Gary was very up front on the problem, gave me all the information to make an intelligent decision. I followed his recommendation and it came out very well. Gary struck me as very forthright, and desirous of having the best outcome. Very high quality work on his part. He obviously takes pride in his work and having highly satisfied customers of which I am one.

I called and spoke to Gary the owner. I explained what I wanted done. He asked several questions and we talked price and then set a date. Gary arrived on time, got right to work and completed the job in the time frame that he had given me. I am very pleased with the job. There is a lot of information on his web site as well as his picture which I think is a good idea. You know what he looks like when he arrives.
