Extremely satisfied. Company was responsive (My initial call to them was on Xmas Day when I noticed the sewer backed up in my back yard). They called me back immediately and agreed to send someone to look at it the next day (after ansering some questions, we agreed it was not an emergency) - they came the next day as promised and even called prior to their arrival. The plumber assessed the situation and took pictures to send back to Larry. I spoke with him and agreed to have them come back on Monday when the equipment needed to address would be available (needed an extra long hose and camera set up given the location of the cleanout cup). Each time dealt with the company (Larry) he would call to let me know status and options. On the day they came, Larry and his associate were at my home at the time promised. Spent nearly 3 hours and all is well. So although a bit pricey, well worth it given the responsiveness and professionalism of the company. Would highly recommend them for any of your plumbing needs.

The original call was for replacing the toilet tank brass bolts. KP was great - a very friendly guy & very professional. However it turns out our tank as defective and the bolts could not be screwed in / placed properly. Steve had to come by and after some adjustments, were able to place the bolts properly. Service was great, courteous and very professional.

It went horribly! Prior to the plumber arriving, I had already had the problem checked out by someone else who told me that I needed a new garbage disposal brand Badger 5, half horse power, and that it's easy to do. So the plumber arrives and tells me I needed a new disposal and that'd cost me $535 for that to get done. He also said that I may need to re-line the pipe and the cost for that would be $100. Well, what the plumber also hadn't known either was that I checked out the price for the disposal with Home Depot and knew that the price for the part was $100. So, this man was going to try to get away with charging me $635!!! I basically told the man to leave, that that price is appalling, and then he came up with some other kind of stupid fee I supposedly owed him in the amount of $140.00 for him to come out here. I then said excuse me for a second, I'm going to check Angie's List, and then he started muttering that he isn't going to charge me.... AND that's because his company provides FREE ESTIMATES! So this man is a reflection of his company who believes if you are a woman, that you are clueless to the plumbing field, and that because you've got granite counter tops and a nice home, that he can try to screw you out of A LOT of money! And even when you decide not to utilize his services, that he can and will try to rob you blind FOR ONE HUNDRED & FORTY DOLLARS! GET REAL!!! So, to ALL of you out there looking for a good company to hire, RUN like h*** from this one!

Hi [Member Name Removed], As we clearly explained the cost to replace your toilet was $335.00 plus $200.00 labor to install, which took 2 hours to complete from start to finish. If you call other plumbing companies you'll find this is the going rate if not a better price. Thank you, Steve

On a sunday at 3 pm, the kitchen flooded. Twice. Emergency plumber recommended by Angieslist (I only work with companies recommended on this site) was scheduled at 6 pm. K.P. arrived to save us! A lot of sludge came out. And then more sludge came out. It is now fixed. Good job. Thanks K.P. Steve, you've got a great guy there. He did not just do the job. He did it thoroughly. Twice!

This is a great company. We called them on an emergency basis due to our main sewer line backing up and overflowing into our house. They came out on and snaked the line and got the water draiing again. The owner, Steve, came out the next day due to the clog not being completely removed. He put a camera in the line and diagnosed the problem - a lot of tree roots. He then proceeded to work his tail off for two hours to clear the roots. I know the line will eventually need to be replaced, but at least he bought us some time. Now we can financially plan for the line replacement. In the meantime, Atomic Rooter will be back once a year to prophylactically snake the line so we don't have any further sewage floods - Yuck!

WOW! They are great! I was away in California and my hot water heater broke and leaked all over my basement. Steve and team were great. I was a new customer and they came right over and stopped the issue. They then were able to find me a new hot water heater that same day and install it. I was still having a small issue on the following day and he came over within 20 minutes. I never write reviews but had to in this case because the level and quality of service was exceptional. They are totally trust worthy and helped me save money and time. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I called Atomic Rooter around 2:30 pm and they had someone out at the house by 4:30 pm on the same day. The piping on the faucet copper line had burst last winter and the entire faucet needed to be replaced. Access was from the outside and I had already removed the external cedar shingles and cut the access hole before calling for service. Normally, I do these types of repairs myself but the piping was in tight quarters. There was a flexible water line connected to a fitting with the frost free faucet attached. One look told me it would be better to have a professional do this job to avoid a potential mistake on my part and damage to the flexible line and fitting. The service technician made the repair in about 20 minutes without damaging the flexible line. The new frost free faucet is sturdy and won't be needing future repairs. I was also given some tips on how to the freezing problem in the future.

I called on a Monday morning and was called back within just a few minutes. They were at my home within a few hours on the same day. They made the repairs they could but needed to order parts for the rest. They returned within 48 hours to complete the rest. None of these repairs were emergency?s so the responsiveness was appropriate for what needed to be done. I really appreciated the fact that they honored my 10% Angie?s List discount on the second trip without having to be asked since the only reason they had to come twice was because they needed to order parts. When preparing for bed on Wednesday night I realized I didn't have any hot water; it was about 8pm. I called the plumber and he offered to come to my house to resolve it straight way. I told him it wasn't an emergency so he could come the next day. A screw had come undone from a regulator in the hot water coil and it caused the unit to lose its water pressure. He made the correction and there was no additional charge. I think the measure of an excellent service provider is how they respond when things do go as planned. They offered to come out at 8pm and didn't charge me for the additional work. Atomic Rooter did an outstanding job. I will certainly use them again and recommend them to others.

Our shower was dripping. We had called another plumber, who said he couldn't get to us until July. My husband called Atomic Rooter from work. They came to our house that evening, and completed the job in less than an hour. They arrived on time and were courteous and professional. The plumber had the part with him and was able to install it quickly without having to turn off the water in the house. They accepted our credit card. We would definitely use them again.

Atomic Rooter sent one of its plumbers, named Joseph, and he was professional, fast, and explained the situation, including how to work the knobs to reduce the chance of the problem happening again. He did what was necessary to fix the problem without trying to make it a bigger job. and was very pleasant to work with and very responsive in answering my questions. My initial call to the service was answered within 10 minutes and the plumber came during the two hour time frame given to me.

After making the appointment, I configured my schedule to be available at the appointment time frame, which was 9 to 11am. On the day of the appointment, nobody showed or called. After 11am came and went, I called up to see if the technician was running late but couldn't get a live person and was directed to leave a message. Nobody got back to me afterward. I reviewed the company online and detailed what happened, but I never heard a word from them and moved on to another provider, so I considered the matter closed. Over 4 months later, yesterday in fact, I got an email from the company, informing me that: a) I posted the review about the wrong company and; b) they'd appreciate it if I take down the review. This is the first time anyone from Atomic Rooter had the courtesy to contact me since wasting my time last fall, and their approach is denial? I'm sure anyone who's dealt with poor customer service or a bad business in the past can imagine how irritating it is to be told "it wasn't us" after making an appointment weeks in advance and taking off of work only to be blown off. Super irritating in fact. Originally, I didn't recommend Atomic Rooter for failing to honor their appointment. Now, I'm also not recommending them for treating an honest and inconvenienced customer like an imbecile.

[removed member name] I received your review yesterday 2/21/15 for the first time and replied as soon as I received it. As I mentioned we looked your name up in our 24 hour a day 7 day a week answering service where a live person answers our phones. There is no record of you calling our company from September through the end of December 2014. We'd be happy to have the answering service send you directly a copy of the logs. We as a company are very respectful of people and their time. If one of our customers slips through the cracks we want to know about it so we can own it and make it right. I would like to discuss this issue on the phone with you to clear up this matter. Please call us at your convenience. Thank you, Steve

Our bathtub stopped draining yesterday. I poured in a bottle of Drano in the morning, and my husband tried plunging and snaking to no avail- still clogged. I called Atomic Rooter around 7 am today and left my info with the answering service. Someone called me back within 15 minutes of my initial call, quoted me a price, and gave me a time window (11-3). The guys came right around 11:30 am, and were here for about 15 minutes total. They were friendly and professional, and most importantly, they got the job done! The tub is draining again, and they said the work is guaranteed for a month. I would definitely hire them again. I won't bother with the Drano again next time, and will just give these guys a call!

We called to explain that we were having air bubbles coming out of our downstairs toilet when the upstairs toilet was flushed. They said it was a septic clog and we said repeatedly we knew it wasn't and our plumber had suggested it was an exhaust issue. They insisted we were wrong and came over and charged us $150 to tell us that we were actually right. They then installed an internal vent in our basement for $450 that did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem so they put a camera down our pipes and found a disconnect in the yard. They said they would have to excavate to resolve the issue further and it could cost between $1000-$3000. Since we had already paid them $600 to do nothing we said we would pass. We've since contacted another company who has offered to find the issue for free and then discuss fees based on what a possible solution might be. Needless to say we feel we were completely ripped off.

We called around 7pm to describe the problem and Joey arrived in less than an hour. He was very courteous and professional, patiently listened to our description of the issue and looked at several areas (bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, crawlspace) to get a full picture of what was going on. The issue was a clog in the main sewage pipe leading out from our house to the road, This also led to another smaller clog closer to the house. Joey unclogged the pipe with a snake and stayed around for a few minutes to ensure the problem was fixed. He explained very well what he was doing, so that we always knew what was going on. He answered our multiple questions and gave advice on how to prevent the problem in the future. He offered to come back (for free), should the issue come back again on the next day. All in all he was here for about an hour. A very good experience and i would/will use Atomic Rooter again in the future. The only thing i can't speak to is the price, as i have no comparison / experience, but it seems fair considering the time spent between driving to and from the site and fixing the issue on site.

I initially called due to the slowly draining sink in the upstairs bath. I was called back within 5 minutes of calling initially and an appointment was scheduled. Larry snaked the upstairs bath sink and made it actually work again. They came only for this job. Also asked Larry to give our toilet a look as it was wobbling after the tile install. The installer put the toilet back as part of the bid. Well, suffice it to say the tile installer did a crap job and thank goodness that sink clogged because we were just a wobble or two (or 5 or 10....who really knows) from leaking pipes. The toilet had cracked and the lead pipe that took all the nasties away was cracked as well. It could have ended up a nightmare in my kitchen that I am currently remodeling. They were prompt, polite and very professional. I am new to CT and don't know what prices really should be up here so I don't know if we paid average or a bit above, but I don't really care. I will call these guys any time I have an issue because I feel 100% confident in what they do.

Our upstairs bath drain has been an issue since day 1 when we moved into the house in June, 2014. One plumber snaked it and it did a bit better, but still wasn't draining that well. Last night the tub said, "No more, I will not drain for you." It wasn't totally clogged but so slow it was not to be used. We tried several "Specials" only to be told snaking was not included in the special price. We moved on to Atomic Rooter when I called today at 11:30 am. Prompt call back with service provider to come by 2 pm. Polite service provider showed up at 1:20, snaked it and it drains as well as our pipes ever did in our newer homes. We may have to get this done periodically as the house is older with narrow, galvanized pipes and we will call Atomic Rooter every time.

One afternoon, I happened to notice that a section of my family room ceiling was bubbling from water. My husband located the source of the leak and was able to identify it was coming from our master bathroom tub's supply line. I immediately went to Angie's List in order to locate a plumber and was pleased to find Atomic Rooter. I left a message for Steve to contact me and he did so almost immediately. He even offered to have someone one site within an hour! That was so awesome. Joseph arrived at our home and was both professional and personable. He fixed the leak and explained to us what had happened. He also gave us a 30 day warranty on the work performed. We were very happy with Steve and his team and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.
