Eric Petersen and his crew are true professionals. From the initial evaluation to the cleanup, I have nothing but the highest praise for the work done. Extremely satisfied with the results on a 3 part roof with skylights that must have been fairly complicated and time consuming due to its complexity. This guy is dedicated, efficient, experienced and knowledgable. Ericsen gets the job done.
Description of Work: Presented proof of insurance. Very professional, always showed up on time and as promised, used quality materials and worked tirelessly to assure the job got done on schedule.

The problem was with the original roofers they reused old flashing that had nail holes in it, re- bent it into place and was not placed properly under the siding. Eric had a worker doing most of the repair, but he was here at various times checking up on the repair. The bottom layer of siding needed to be removed and the first layer of roof shingles needs to be removed alone with all the flashing. The job was completed in one day and it was a very windy and wet day. The yard was thoroughly cleaned, no nails, tin, garbage or cigarettes butts. Many of those items were left all over the yard by the other company workers. We have no leak and the finished project looks so good that the rest of the house looks shabby. Eric and his helper were very nice, professional and took the time to listen to everything I had to say. He did a fantastic job promptly, but most important was that he accepted the job when I could not find anyone else. Plus started and finished when he said he would. We had buckets collection grain water on our bed!!!!
Description of Work: We had a total roof replacement four years ago. This past April the roof was leaking into a ceiling of a bedroom. The contractor that did the work had since gone out of business. With the winter here, most roofers were on vacation, not answering their phones or did not ever call back. Eric called back that evening and came out to see the problem the next day. He was able to have the repair done, which was a major job within 2 1/2 weeks.

As I stated above... Eric and his crew was wonderful. They did exactly what they promised and were very professional and their price compared to others was terrific. I highly recommend his company!
Description of Work: Eric was amazing. We contracted with him to put new roofs on 2 of our buildings in our condo complex. They are flat roofs that had to have all the old layers removed, rotten wood replaced, and a slight pitch built into the new roof so that there would no longer be water collecting. Eric did his homework checking how things were vented and problems we were having before giving us an estimate and he followed it all to a T. He was on the job daily until all work was completed . We highly recommend him for either residential or commercial work.

From the beginning through the end of the job, it was a pleasure doing business with Eric. We have a roof with a large flat area, and water has always pooled there, creating sheets of ice in the winter and eventually working its way into the seams. When the old roof was damaged by an extreme storm and had to be replaced, we obtained bids from several contractors, and all but Eric wanted to replace the roof with a cover that was much like the original. Eric suggested a different approach that used sheets of insulation material to create a slight pitch that solved the problem of water pooling on the roof. His estimate was less than two that proposed the old approach. Eric called when he was supposed to, came when he promised, delayed only a few days because of unusual cold, and he did a great job. His workers were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. We could not have been more pleased. My wife and I would certainly recommend this company, and we would not hesitate to use them again.

The work is beautiful - you'd never realize the ceiling had ever had an issue! They left the kitchen clean every day - no small feat when you are working with overhead sheetrock, and were always in great spirits and great working mode. We love these guys, as they have installed a roof for us in the past, and given us quotes on jobs still in our queue. I honestly call them first, for anything, because if they can't do it, they are happy to recommend someone who can. These guys are THE BEST!
Description of Work: We called Ericsen to come over to fix our kitchen ceiling after installing can lights and a chandelier, which caused several access holes in our ceiling. We will generally sheetrock ourselves, but didn't want to do the overhead work, so when Ericsen came, we asked for them to repair the holes and to replace a complete section of ceiling over the sink.

Ericsen installed a new roof on a portion of our property last winter. A recurring leak was reported by the occupants. Ericsen has come back twice and finally resolved the issue, with no further charge, as his work is guaranteed. He is true to his word.

Eric booked the job a few months in advance due to both of our schedules. The time came and he contacted me to perform the work. He and his workers were prompt courteous and safely cleaned up the debris. What really impressed me with Eric over other contractors that I requested quotes from was that he offered to correct the problem that caused the roof to leak. Others only quoted repairs/replacing the roof. Eric trimmed back trees and installed copper to fight excessive moss build up.

Work started two days late due to severe weather but was completed according to plan. Workers were prompt and efficient, clean-up was extremely good. Completion was great given the extreme cold conditions we were experiancing during that time frame. Will probably use again for an upcoming siding job.
Description of Work: Removed two layers of shingles, replaced six 4x8 sheets of plywood, installed soffit vent and roof ridge vent, replaced a section of wood base on the back roof covering the patio and installed new roof shingles.

that adviEricson's was great. Gave realistic estimate of when job would be done and a detialed contracted that covered all aspects of the job, very reasonable guarantees on material and workmanship. Took some extra time to place some rotted wood that was found to do the job right. And best of all this company is not a price gouger! I got estimates from 4 other roofers that advertised in the local paper and their prices were 2 to 3 times what Ericsen charged. Happy I found the company.

Overall, very satisfied. Ericsen quoted by far the best price for the job. I attained about 8 different estimates from roofing contractors before settling on Ericsen. It was a big learning process with a steep learning curve. Make sure when you compare contractors that you are comparing apples-to-apples. What type of shingle is included in the estimate? What grade (weight) of roofing paper is included? What type of drip edge? Some contractors will include 8and quot; wide. Ericsen used 3and quot; for most of the roof, but used the wider stuff in a couple areas. I'm hoping the 3and quot; will be good enough. Where are they planning to apply ice and water shield? Not all contractors feel it is necessary in the same areas. So when you're comparing quotes you have to already have an idea of what is adequate for your building and make sure the quote includes the materials you desire. They don't teach you this stuff in school! Unfortunately, it requires you to do a good bit of pre-research. A roof is a major expense and it's worth it. Eric did what he said he would do. He stands by the work, so if there are any problems with the work, he will be very punctual in coming over to fix the problem. He charges plywood replacement by the sheet, which is good because then you are not paying for plywood that turns out to be not necessary. There were a few pieces of plywood that I felt were compromised and Eric thought were fine. I had to push him to replace them, which was a bit annoying since I was more than willing to pay for the sheets to have the job as solid as possible. One sheet on the Cottage looked rotten to me. Eric thought it looked fine. He had one of his guys hit it with a hammer to show me it was fine and the hammer went right through. Turns out it was rotten. I'm glad I was there watching the work and was insistent. This is something to think about if you do not plan to be there while work is being done. There were a few other sheets of plywood I would have liked to have replaced, but Eric got a bit annoyed as the job did drag on and on due to the enormity of the project. He had other jobs he needed to get to. This ended up being a bit of a compromise. Another consideration when comparing contractors is how many workers will be working on the site at a given time. Ericsen only had two, which is part of why the job lasted for almost 9 days. Some other contractors will have more workers on the job, which will make the job go quicker, but the price might be higher as a result. I would have wished for a couple more workers to make the job go faster, but not if it meant paying a lot more. All-in-all, I was happy with the overall experience and even recommended Ericsen contracting to a friend.
Description of Work: Tear off and replacement of entire roof on a large house and Cottage as well as replacement of 3 skylights. The roof had many different facets and pitches, making it more complicated than most ordinary roofs. 50yr Timberline HD shingles were installed.

Eric was fair and very reasonably priced compared to the other four estimates. I was nervous about the job since his prices were so reasonable, but as soon as the first part of the roof was completed (the house section was done on the first day, and over the garage and family room were done the second day) I knew I had made the right choice. His team worked hard and were quick to explain what was going on when I had questions for any of them. In two days I had a beautiful new roof and Eric even had to replace all the plywood over the garage and family room and didn't drop a bomb shell on me in the end with another big bill. He knew I was working with a very tight budget and he was more than fair. I would recommend the company to anyone, including family! He did exactly what he was hired to do, in the time he told me it would get done, and for the price he quoted me. I know it sounds funny to say that a contractor did what he said he would do from the beginning, but if you have hired contractors in the past you know that is hardly ever the case. To be fair I know things pop up that you don't expect, and it did in this case too, but Eric did not deviate from the price quote he gave me from the beginning and that made it a pleasant experience. They came, they replaced, they cleaned up, and went, it two days :o)!

I got four bids from roofing contractors on our roof, and Eric had the lowest bid. He came out to give an estimate very shortly after my initial call and actually went up on the roof and examined it closely (some other contractors just looked at the roof from below). He gave us two options: repair and a complete re-roofing. We decided to go with re-roofing given that the roof was pretty near the end of its lifespan-- the shingles were covered in moss and beginning to crack. Eric was finishing up with another job early and was able to start the very next week. He said the job would take two days, but he actually completed our roof within a day and a half. He and his crew of three were prompt and worked very hard and efficiently. The roof looks good. No damage was done to the house or garden and they cleaned up pretty well. He had the dumpster and the scrap metal cleared out by the end of the second day. Eric charged me the exact quote he gave me, not a dollar more. So far so good!

The crew began the work on the promised date and returned each day until the job was completed. They arrived on time every morning and worked throughout the day into early evening. It took a total of about 2.5 days. The roof was ripped off and replaced in one day. Adding the vented soffit and ridge vent as well as painting the soffit took the remainder of the time. They did a fantastic job, were reasonably priced and started and ended when promised. I highly recommend them!

A small project but he came right over to the job site to review the needs the day I called. Right on time, friendly, great attitude. Got back to me right away with a quote. Was booked two months out but would make time to do the job. I was about to hire him -- then the head carpenter proposed a fellow he worked with all the time. Prices were similar. I went with the carpenter's recco because I felt it would coordinate a little better.

I recently purchased this house. The old roof's shingles were cracked and the roof was leaking in many places. Turns out the prior roofer hadn't even put down tar paper. Ericsen Contracting was busy so it took a couple of months before the crew were able to get to my house. However, they securely put tarp on the roof and it held fine during the many rainy days before the start of the job. The Ericsen Contracting job went well. The guys worked non-stop and efficiently the three days they were here. Rain delayed the job a day. Prior to the rain the crew worked quickly and effectively to get the tar paper on so it cover the newly exposed roof. The old vents were removed and the new style of roof ventilation was put in. Roof debris and nails were picked up each day. I live in a woody area so my roof is prone to lichen and moss. I discussed this with Mr. Petersen and had copper stripping placed on the top of the garage, porch and house.
Description of Work: Removed old shingles from house and garage. Installed drip edge to all perimeters and ice shield to all eves, chimney, flashing and skylights. Installed felt paper to roofs, replaced pipe boot, cut ridge for ventilation on the house roof, installed vent, installed new shingles (Timerberline HD) capped all ridges.

Called Ericsen because of the reviews on Angie's list. Glad I did. We had an issue with a leak around the chimney and were missing several shingles from recent storms. He replaced the shingles and sealed the chimney area to address the leak. He also gave us a very good price on replacing the roof. I'm trying to get a little more life out of the roof but it does need replacing soon and Ericsen Contracting will get the job. They show up on time, give you a very fair price and do a good job. The way contracting is supposed to be.

Ericsen Contracting came out the same day I called and after measuring and noting the brand and model of the skylights gave me an estimate for the job the next day. The re-flash kits had to be ordered but the wait was not long. Needed a quick fix as rain had been forcast almost every day and they came and did the installation on July 4th. Because we had to travel while the installation was taking place they provided pictures of the installation and sent via email. Overall good experience and would recommend to others.

Eric was wonderful. I called on behalf of my mother, who was traumatized by a badly leaking roof around her chimney that a whole succession of roofers and masons could not seem to fix (and yet they all took her money). Apparently, the roof was installed improperly without tar paper. I used Angie's List to find someone who might be able to give her good advice and actually fix the problem this time. We chose Eric, who advised her to replace the roof, quoted a very reasonable price, scheduled the work, and then arranged to come even earlier to do the work. He explained to her that he might have to replace the plywood if it was rotted through and gave her a quote in case that additional work was necessary, but thankfully the plywood was sound. The work was done quickly, cleanly, and professionally, and best of all, she no longer has a torrent of water coming down all around her chimney! I recommend Eric highly, and am most grateful that he treated my older mother with so much consideration, respect, and professionalism. The new roof looks beautiful, and my mother is happy.
