2 Young Studs Moving - Mover in New Haven

This move was a disaster. The movers arrived in 2 small trucks that were inadequate for the job, despite my having provided a complete description of the scope of the job when I contracted for the service. Halfway through the work I was told that all of our things would not fit and that a second crew and two additional trucks would have to be brought in after business hours. The company did not have anyone available to preform the rest of the work before that. This created a serious problem for us with our landlord to whom we had committed being out of the house by the end of the day. The owners version of making this right was to charge me a discounted rate for the second crew. I had no choice to agree to his terms because it was too late to find another mover who could show up the same day and they were already in possesion of 2/3 of my stuff. The second crew was delayed due to a flat tire, and when they did finally show up at our new house at 11:30 pm, I was told that they could not complete the work (one of the trucks contained items that were to be taken to a separate storage facility), until the tire was repaired. They wanted me to wait 2 hours for the tire to be repaired and then go to the storage site. I refused to have them complete the move in the middle of the night. At that point I was promised they would return "first thing" the following day. They did not return until 12:30 pm the following day and the final work was not completed until 3 pm. Thus what should have been an 8-9 hour move took 2 days. The load time for all parts of the move was excessive because of the time required to overpack trucks that were too small. The inconvenience and stress associated with all of the mishaps was extreme and the only resolution offered to me was to receive a discount for the work I should never have had to pay for in the first place. Since I was basically held hostage at the time, I paid for the services with 2 checks. However, on the second day, after the work was completed unsatisfactorily, I stopped payment on the first check. The second check cleared, thus the company has received partial payment. I offered to pay a fair price for the remaining balance based on what the job should have cost. The owners' response was to threaten me with both civil and criminal action if I did not pay the full sum of what he said I owed. The aggressive and intimidating posture he took during the move has continued as I have attempted to resolve this matter. This company is horrible.

Large house, local move. Moved lots of bulky, heavy furniture with care and moved quickly. Never took a break. Nick was very professional . Called before arrival, showed up on time and got right to work. I was told would probably take a full 8 hr for our house size but they finished in 6.

James and Brian did a great job. They are very polite and professional. The whole process took 2 hours. I am very happy with their service. I will definitely use this company for future needs.

The crew showed up on time were very professional and courteous. I have worked for a moving company when I was younger so I knew what to look for. These guys were beyond what I expected would use them or recommend them to friends and family

12/30 They completely underestimated what was required to move my home. I told them our square footage. I warned them that we had a lot of stuff. I told them that in the last move it took three guys all day to load 2 large trucks and almost all day the next day to unload. They never came out to estimate what would be needed. On move day they showed up with half the truck capacity they needed. They took a bit more than half our stuff. They unloaded it in our new home. Finished at 9pm. They said they would be back at Noon the next day to get the rest and finish the job. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. My phone calls to them went unanswered and we're not returned until the end of the day. We have had to stay in a hotel for several days until we could get retrieve parts of our beds from the old home and get them set up. We have dressers and no drawer or clothes. Unbelievable. That a company would stop halfway through a job and not come back to finish is reprehensible. 12/31 And now I have to go back to my new house and setup my beds so I can sleep on them, and tomorrow, I have to find a real moving company to finish the job cause half my furniture is still at the old house. On New Year's Eve, no less. Like I am going to be able to find someone before sometime next week. And I have to delay the painters and other contractors I had lined up to get my house ready for the market. Who knows how much my out of pocket costs are going to rise because of their negligence and incompetence. My recommendation: DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT CALLING THIS COMPANY!! UPDATE: in response to the providers response. If they were prepared for this to be a 2 day job as they say, before they even arrived, then why did they not have any resources available for the next day? They actually called me at 1pm the day after that (New Year's Eve!) to see if I still wanted their help. My thoughts? How much can they get done if they're not even going to arrive until after 2pm on New Year's Eve? The movers I hired to replace them arrived on Monday morning with a crew of 8 and 2 34' trucks, and were done unloading at the new house with everything by 3pm. They max'd those trucks, mind you. Even if these guys had sent back 4 people and their 3 small trucks, they wouldn't have finished in one day again. The crew was great, no doubt. Very diligent, very friendly. Hard working. But what I hired were movers. What I got was guys with trucks. There is a big difference. They didn't pad anything. Lots of dings and scratches on my furniture. One of my dressers was so badly damaged that we can't even get the drawers to work right anymore. The replacement movers wrapped everything in pads and shrinkwrap. Everything they moved arrived undamaged. As to his contention that they were never planning to come back the next day, the last thing the crew chief asked me was if it would be OK to put the beds back together tomorrow, because it was already 9pm. I told him I was planning on staying in a hotel that night anyway, so sure. So, now they want me to believe they weren't planning on coming the next day? I guess they can no longer say that they have never left a customer stranded.

Local moving job went very well. 2 movers were punctual and moved 1BR contents to upstairs apartment. In addition, 30 boxes were moved to a private residence. Since we were on schedule, movers were able to accommodate this request as well. I would highly recommend this provider based on the moving experience and will definitely call them again if I need a local move.

We used this company to move several large and heavy items out of a UHaul after moving the furniture from Texas. I would hire them again in a second. 2 movers arrived right when they said they would, they were both extremely courteous, friendly, and most of all very professional. They took great care to not damage the furniture or anything in the house (they actually went above and beyond what I would expect in this area). And on top of that the price was very fair for the work they had to do. I highly recommend them.

Three guys showed up in two trucks. We had a great deal of furniture and boxes left to move and this was their second job of the day, with the first one going over by an hour. But even with that, they got right to work and hardly took a break, I saw them all stop for 5 minutes one time maybe, so the service was terrific. This was the ONLY company (and I called a lot of them for quotes) that did not include before and after travel time in the cost! That was $100-$200 cheaper than anyone right off the bat! We had a kids bed and another baby crib that needed to be disassembled and reassembled. They did both of these with no issues. The only negative thing was their 2 trucks were not big enough to bring all of our stuff. I know there was not any in-house review ahead of time, and maybe I didn't go over everything we had exactly, I don't really know. All I know is the options were they could drive their truck back to get the rest of my stuff, but at the hourly rate of a mover we opted not to. Instead the next day we rented a U-Haul and finished moving everything ourselves for a quarter of the price and 10 times the work. It was an extra day of h***. At the end of the day we bought them BBQ dinner. We read how many people will supply pizza or grinders, but we chose from a BBQ place in town and we all enjoyed ribs, wings, fries, onion rings, whole chicken and more. It was delicious, and I recommend spending the few extra bucks and upgrade and food you might provide to something other than pizza or subs. Anyways, these are the movers for you and everyone. The movers arrived promptly and worked really hard. They did a fantastic job. They know how to load the truck in an organized manner and wrapped our furniture up to protect it. I would highly recommend this company. They helped to make our move less stressful! Thank you!

2 Young Studs provided amazing service for our move from Trumbull to Monroe. Working with Chris to get information and an estimate was very easy, Chris was very responsive and very detail oriented. The online calendar confirmation of our reservation was good, it was reassuring to see us on their calendar. We took advantage of the Angie's List deal for 3 guys and two trucks (medium size). The three guys (Jeremy, Paul and Daniel) called as they were leaving the lot with their trucks and arrived right on time. They asked us to walk through the house and review the stuff in each room to make sure they understood what needed to get packed into the truck, and if there were any fragile or special-needs items. We had a lot of cumbersome studio equipment (sound engineer and letterpress printer), so there was a lot of awkward, heavy stuff to be moved. The started quickly and we had the two trucks fully packed before noon. Unfortunately due to the volume of stuff we had, we needed to do two trips with the trucks, but the guys were very efficient. Unpacking went very smoothly. We were asked to have one of us stand by the truck and direct them as to which rooms the boxes should go. We switched on and off with this job to help move things around inside and get a better idea of which rooms were filling up, etc. After everything was moved in (around 5pm), they asked us if there was any furniture or boxes that we would like moved within the house. We had them rearrange the dressers in the bedroom which was a great help. We asked the guys to be cautious of the floors as we had them refinished the week prior, and not slide any furniture or boxes around. They were very good about this request. Hiring 2 Young Studs to help us move was the best decision. They were a pleasure to work with and made the move happen in a day. Thank you 2 Young Studs!

I've got nothing but good things to say about Chris and his team from 2 Young Studs Moving. They were able to schedule an appointment on short notice with very reasonable rates. The movers themselves were punctual, professional and clearly knew what they were doing. They hustled the entire time and made the move a breeze. The truck itself was clean and spacious, and they packed everything in such a way that nothing was damaged in transit. Overall, they made moving day as easy as possible. I can't recommend these guys enough.

I hired 2 young studs to help me move from my 2 bed room condo to my new house. Chris sent a crew of three people (2 Zach's and Jack) and two trucks and they arrive right on time. They were all very courteous and professional and worked extremely efficiently. We were done with the move in about 4 hours. I would definitely use their service again. The price was very reasonable also.

They bumped a couple of walls and made a couple of dents. Compared to other moving companies they were supreme; they all kind of s*ck. They all get tired and keep bumping, unless I pay about $10000 for the service. My experience with them was good. Their professionalism was good but stuff happens when people move.

I had a terrific experience with this company. It was about 11 a.m. when I realized that I needed the assistance of a moving company stat. Remarkably, Two Young Studs Moving was able to get a crew to my office within an hour. The crew was super efficient, careful with my possessions, and friendly. Likewise, Chris who runs the office and gets moves scheduled was super helpful and walked me through the process so that everything ran smoothly today. Considering what short notice I gave about this move, this company was very accommodating and really saved the day! Additionally, it was a very good value for the money. I plan to use this company again, and I would definitely recommend Two Young Studs Moving to anyone who's looking for movers in the New Haven area.

They showed up on time, with all the men and equipment we had discussed. They worked through lunch. They were clean, courteous and resourceful. They moved everything into the place where I wanted and did it with a smile, which is saying a lot since the back end of the move involved a lot of stairs and relocating some items from one location to another. They were the best movers I've ever used at this price point. I will definitely use them again in the future.

They called shortly before the arrival time and then were on time to start. They were very friendly and courteous. These guys made short work of a ton of boxes and bulky furniture. I wasn't sure that they would be able to fit all the stuff into the truck but somehow they managed. The actual move was very quick and everything arrived undamaged. The truck actually got to the house before I did! The unloading of the truck went very quickly and the guys placed everything where it should go. They really knew what they were doing and I was glad that I didn't have to watch over them every minute. I would highly recommend this moving company and will certainly use them again if I ever have to move (I hope I don't!). Great service and great price!

Everything went perfect. Tony and Zack called me 20 minutes before they arrived to alert me they were on their way. They got to my apartment right on time and immediately got to work. The guys were very cool, took good care of my stuff, and worked quickly. The whole move from my one bedroom apartment to my house took less than two hours, and I would absolutely hire them again.

The move went very well. We were originally scheduled for 11 AM Wed. but they called the evening before to suggest moving up the time to get ahead of the impending snow storm. That was good. Jon and Deon arrived at 9:30 and had the truck loaded in less than an hour. They were very pleasant and professional and handled our items with care. At the locker they stowed the boxes and furniture so that we can gain access to whatever we need during the storage period. Moving can be stressful but their easy going competence and good cheer kept that far away. .

The two movers were extremely patient. There was a sofa that needed to go into the basement of the new residence and there was difficulty in getting it into the basement. They would not give up on getting it into the basement when it would not fit down the basement stairs. Despite several sharp turns and steep basement stairs, they eventually were able to via the basement hatchway.They were friendly, worked well as a team and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the future.

We contacted 2 Young Studs Moving to get a quote to move my elderly mother from her home to an apartment. She was downsizing and had a couple of rooms of furniture and several boxes. They were prompt to respond and gave a reasonable quote. We booked them and gave a deposit for an early morning move. The gentleman on the phone was very courteous and helpful to my elderly mother. On the morning of the move, they were prompt-arriving at the time we had scheduled. The two young men were reliable, polite and hard working. My elderly mother was a little nervous about the move but they were very attentive to her concerns and took her requests in stride. They couldn't have been nicer. Everything was moved efficiently and all was in good shape. In addition even though they thought it would take 4 hours, they did it in three and only charged for the three hours. We have heard many nightmare stories about movers from other people and were extremely happy to have such a positive experience. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Despite the light rain, the two very pleasant guys rapidly moved all the items out of the condo and loaded the truck extremely efficiently. The items were safely placed in the truck, moved to the new house, and unloaded. They were extremely pleasant and hard working. I was very pleased with their services, and the cost of the services provided.
