Once he saw what type of fixtures I had, he went out and bought the right parts and completed the work quickly. The price was reasonable and he was very courteous. I would definitely use him again.

Asked for pictures and then called me back with a quote on a new heater. He came on Saturday with the heater and installed. As I write this in Saturday, I have hot water! Mark was very responsive. I had no idea someone would come right out and install for me. I am very happy with Mark's service.

This is important when the water heater was broken. Mark performed the job well, very professional and courteoous. The price is reasonable. Having a good price is important but being very responsive and professional is of ultmost important! Highly recommended.

Description of Work: Had new cabinets installed and needed a new sink faucet and also had 2 soap dispensers placed into the countertop. I called at 5pm in evening, and he returned call by 8am next day. Came out same day as he called at 5pm and installed faucet and dispensers without any problem and cleaned up everything. Had to change some piping under the sink to accomodate new install, but did so without problem. Price right on track...would definately use him again and will recommend him to all I speak with if they need a plumber. EXCELLENT workmanship, professional and prompt!!

 + -1 moreI called Mark based on the excellent Angies list ratings he had received and was not disappointed. He was able to come out late in the afternoon of the same day I called to give me a quote. At the time he had some big jobs coming up as well as some important family matters to attend to so he told me it would be about a week before he could get the parts needed and come back out. Mark was able to come out and do the work when he expected and was right on time the morning that the work was to be done which was very refreshing when so often you are given a "window" of time to expect someone and then still get a call to say they will be late. He is very friendly and if I had not been with him I would not have known he was there because there was no mess left in any of the three work areas at all. The only way I would have known he was there was that everything now works perfectly. I have already had him quote us on replacing our kitchen sink and faucet when we are ready as well as some modifications to our first floor bath. Count us among his very satisfied customers.
Description of Work: Mark replaced an old style outside spicket that was leaking with a new frost free model and replaced the corroded shutoff that prevented us from turning that spicket off from inside the house. He also repaired the dripping single handle bathroom sink and shower stall controls in our basement bathroom.

Description of Work: I needed a new hot water heater because the previous one supplied by a large chain hardware store & installed by one of their contractors was placed directly on the floor of a 100 year plus home. I was told that I did not need to worry about water (which my basement always gets & he knew it). After water came in the basement this spring the gas company told me the pilot could not be relit. Mark installed a new heater on blocks that is above any water level I have ever seen.

 + 0 moreOverall, from beginning to end, Mark Stawski Plumbing deserves all the praise it has on Angie's List, which is why I called him !
Description of Work: Mark Stawski replied promptly to my initial phone call, which impressed me immediately. He readily answered all questions and arrived promptly at the scheduled time and day ( ( had called two weeks ahead of time.) He was to fix an outside faucet which had been dripping all winter despite being turned off under the kitchen sink. I also needed the flushing mechanism checked on a toilet and wanted an estimate on replacing the water heater. When Mark discovered he was unable to turn off the water at the usual valve, he very carefully explained what might be involved in turning off ( and then on) the main valve. Sometimes this presents other problems and the water company and a new valve might be needed. He gave the options and choices in detail..... just in case. As a customer, I very much appreciated this professional detail. I chose to have him continue and work continued smoothly and in a timely fashion. He replaced the mineral laden flapper in the toilet and showed me how its weight was causing problems flushing. We also went carefully over the options for replacing the water heater, which is upstairs over the bedroom. Mark told me about a system which automatically shuts off the water should the heater leak.

 + -1 moreMark was exemely punctual. He said he probably would not be able to come for an estimate until late afternoon but when his earlier job freed up he called and came by 2 hours earlier. Since I wanted to get the work done asap this worked out fine for me and allowed time to setup an electrician to meet Mark on Saturday morning when he installed the unit. On the day of installation he was also a few minutes early and the electricician whom he had recommended showed up a few minutes later. He went to work and he had finised his portioin of the installation within a few hours. The electrician had to run out for a part but te entire job was finished in approximately 3 hours. Mark was extremely curteous and walked me through the entire process as well as how to shut of f the boiler when summer comes. He also followed up with a phone call on Monday to make sure everything went well over the weekend and the water heater was functioning as expected. I don't think I have ever had a service man actually follow up on a job. The job was completed at the exact price as originally quoted.
Description of Work: Replaced water heater with a stand alone model and installed a mechanism to allow shut off of the boiler during summer months.

 + -1 moreMark showed up, replaced the thermocouple, cleaned the pilot light tube and the burner. Everything works and the pilot can be reignited in a matter of seconds. Great job!
Description of Work: The pilot light on our water heater was getting really low and I had to hold down the pilot button for over 5-7 minutes in order to reignite the pilot (thermocouple needs to get heated enough to not cut off the gas to the pilot). Mark had to rectify the problem (probably, by replacing the thermocouple - as was preliminary agreed over the phone).

 + -1 moreThe first and second visit went very well. Very helpful from start to finish. Patient. Professional. Explained things well. The two plus hours he spent with us covering so many different plumbing topics was extremely helpful. He followed thru with a written estimate of various projects as promised. He did much more than just locate the leak and stop it for us. We will be contacting him soon to replace the hot water heater and to upgrade the piping. It was a pleasure.
Description of Work: Mark came to the house to investigate and give an estimate to repair a leak from the upstairs bathroom into the garage that we couldn't locate as it was something behind a wall. He came out on short notice at a time when I would be home from work at 6 pm. He took a quick look around and was very courteous and friendly. Not finding an obvious leak he would come back on Saturday as we were not in a hurry to fix the leak. To save time I asked if I could do anything to prepare for his Saturday visit and he showed me where he suspected the leak was occurring. I cut thru the wall and ceiling where he had drawn an outline . Saturday came and he arrived and found a pinhole leak in a copper pipe behind a wall. We went over the various options and costs. He advised us to replace the copper pipes, which were of inferior grade and corroding, with a better quality piping called pex and compared the prices of copper to pvc to pex. He also advised us on our desire to replace the Hot water heater that was very old and not working well. All in all he spent at least two hours working and talking to us and patiently explaining things. My wife and I are hearing impaired and he was most patient in repeating or writing down words for us. We were most appreciative of his patience and knowledge of materials and options to fit our budget. He would get back to us with a written estimate within a short time and he did send us a written estimate of our various options which were very reasonably priced. Before leaving he cut and capped off the leaking cold water pipe at the leak in order for us to turn back on the water for the washing machine in the room under the bathroom. That sure made the wife happy as she was getting tired of visiting the local laundromat!

 + -1 moreCalled the number listed on Angie's list and left a message. Received a phone call back few hours later and we set up an appoitment. On the day of the appoitment Mark (owner) was on time and gave an estimate right away. The price was according the average posted here on Angie's list, which was a relieve. Next day Mark was back to install the water heater. Mark helped me determine the capacity of the new heater based on my needs by asking questions and analyzing the existing set up. We decided to keep the same existing 40 gallons capacity. Service was completed in about 1 hour and 1/2.
Description of Work: Replaced leaking 40 gallon gas water heater.

It took 4 days of having a clogged sink, but he has excellent reviews, so i waited .... this is not a knock ... he is a small business and is the only employee (I gave him a B for responsiveness, but he was very accurate with that info when I spoke to him, so I could have gone with another company). He snaked the drain down 25 feet twice and it still didn't clear the clog. Oh well, it happens. He also changed out the toilet for $85 (I supplied the toilet and all parts). Everything went well there. He didn't charge me for the drain service (but i gave him some cash anyways ..... he tried and didn't get it ... he still put in time for it. I really appreciated his effort and not charging me ... it was TOTALLY unexpected. He then recommended a sewer cleaning company that was reasonably priced and does good work. I have no issues with his work or prices and I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL HIM AGAIN IF I HAVE ANY PLUMBING ISSUES. Thanks Mark! -Rick
