As described above, this turned out to be a much larger project than originally intended. Kelly was flexible enough to be able to take on the additional tasks at very reasonable rates and see the project through to completion. Kelly was very thorough in implementing all aspects of the project as agreed upon. The quality of the final job was exceptional. I think we were very lucky to have found her through Angie's List and I have already asked her for estimates on other projects we want to get underway. That being said, I also have to say that I understand some of the frustration expressed by other people who have reviewed this service here. Communication is not Kelly's strong suit. She seems to rely completely on her cell phone, and that may not be adequate for a growing business. Stuff happens, and if she had a Business Manager or even a competent secretary, communication with her customers when things need to be rescheduled would make things go a lot smoother. It is very frustrating to be left in the dark when the schedule needs to be adjusted. I think this would be a great opportunity for a retired business woman who is looking to mentor a bright and hard working young lady trying to get her service established. It would be a shame for it not to succeed due to a lack of understanding of Business 101.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal to have a room painted by Lady House Doctors. Over a two-month period, I tried in good faith to schedule the work. I didn't hear anything for a few weeks, then was advised they had phone issues. I committed to a date/time--it gets double-booked. I selected another date/time based on options they provided, but cannot get it confirmed. The lack of responsiveness was incredibly inconsiderate of my time -- and made me wonder about the reliability of Lady House Doctors in general. At this point, I decided to stop pursuing work with an undependable company and asked the folks at Angie's List about getting a refund for the cost of the "Deal." [Update: Was advised that the owner has "taken her business elsewhere."]

I could never get the job scheduled with them. At one point, they even said they couldn't do the type of work I needed. She seemed overbooked.

The Lady House Doctors team moved all the furniture to one side of the room and ripped up the carpeting and padding. Once one side was done, they moved the furniture to the other side and continued with removing it. They cut it in sections as they went along. They removed all the carpeting and padding and disposed of it. They then worked on removing the carpeting from the stairway. When all remnants of carpeting was removed, they swept and vacuumed the floor and stairway. The total job took approximately four hours. They did an excellent job.

Did not get any service performed since we never could get a return call.

The tasks went fine. I was satisfied. One wall hole is not completely finished because it was not dry and would require a third visit.

The office is run poorly. Finally had an appointment and the workers showed up prepared to paint a room. Not the lengthy handyman list I had sent by email in detail so they could prepare. The worker were punctual and apologetic but the office did not get back to me till a week latter! With excuse after excuse. Months latter still no call or refund. Very disappointed

She did show up, was very nice, but then we just played e-mail tag for several weeks then she stopped emailing me and did not return my phone messages. She never gave me an estimate or date to start. She could at least have had the courtesy to tell me she did not want the job or was too busy to do it.

I purchased a voucher through Angie's List to have them paint one room. After some short communication about what it would cost to paint additional rooms I provided photos, measurements, and details. The communication completely stopped at this point. A while later they contacted me to tell me they had no clue what I was talking about. I filled them in once again and just requested they paint the one room to start (as I had already paid for the voucher). More than a month later and several emails later I have not heard a thing from them. They were very unprofessional and their communication was abysmal. I would NEVER do business with them.

Aside from the original 2-day turn-around to ask by e-mail for information about work to be done, no one ever e-mailed or called me or communicated with me at all. The job needs to be done so I found someone who can do it in the time frame. Just can't wait anymore.

I have sent e-mails and made phone calls to the company but I have not heard from them to have the work completed. They had another deal going on and may be busy but would like the work completed.

It was a little difficult touching base with Kelly at first but I know she also had an overwhelming response to her discount offer. Once we connected it was smooth going, we had an appointment within 10 days. They did a very good job and we are actually going to use her to paint the rest of our interior.

It went great - Kelly is very good about getting back to her clients - she cares about your experience - very friendly and easy to work with. I am looking forward to using her again.

Messaged back and forth questions about day to paint. Day was agreed upon via message however I never heard from them again. No call .... No show. Will never use again. Should be removed from Angie's list as vendors like this will ruin your reputation.

I would love to find a painting service that is dependable. If you dont' even show up or call when you have the first go see for a quote, how can the potential client ever think you will show up on time or at all for the job they trusted you to do? I don't understand how they have a "A" classification on Angie's List!!!!

I paid, they responded right away asking for a range of response dates and times. I responded with several options. Never heard from them again. I called their phone number but their voicmail box was full and didn't take a message. They still have the $$ and the job is not even scheduled over a week later.

My husband and I were very pleased with the quickness in which the provider got back to us to discuss our request for the painting job, however once we decided on a date for the job, the provider could not be reached either by phone or email to discuss a change in the start date. We tried several times to get in touch but it was not working. We both felt that the provider probably got too busy with other jobs to call or email ,so subsequently we had to go somewhere else. Hopefully we will be able to use the provider again @ a latter date.

Our attic had old insulation that was no longer of much use. Much of it was falling from the rafters after a recent roof replacement, and what was under the floorboards was insufficient. The attic is currently unfinished, but I wanted to keep my options open for the future while getting some energy efficiency right now. In November of 2013, Kelly of Lady House Doctors responded within a day of my email inquiry to set up a time to see the attic. I had some ideas, and she gave her input and expertise, and we came up with an initial plan that involved removing the floor boards, insulating underneath, and replacing the floor boards, along with insulation in the rafters and walls. Her quote was reasonable and lower than others I received, and we scheduled times for her and her crew to do the work over a series of Saturdays in January so that I wouldn't have to take vacation time from work to hang out at home. Kelly and her crew worked very hard and were very accommodating about our dog (he is a runner and is always trying to get out and they were very careful about making sure he didn't get out as they came and went). It became apparent pretty early on, though, that our plan would need to be changed, mainly because the floor boards, probably original from 1867, could not be removed intact enough to be replaced. Other issues popped up here and there as well, as tends to happen with home improvement projects. But Kelly informed me as things came up and gave me options and was flexible about re-working the plan and the increase in costs. There was some difficulty in scheduling as we moved into February, but LHD was able finish the job. In the end, it took longer than expected, but we have well-installed insulation and have already been able to turn down our thermostat to save money.

They came out and took copious amounts of pictures and were here for about an hour. We were supposed to get some estimates and some plans but still have not received anything. We attempted to email them and they admitted that their email may have been acting up. We still have not received anything. This was about a month and a half ago.

Kelly and her crew did a great job. So good, we're having them back out to do more.

She was wonderful. She did a good job. I was sort of under the gun because I was moving so she took time out of her normal day to do the job. She was pleasant, courteous and lovely. I would recommend her anytime. The work turned out perfect. It was a really good job. We had trouble connecting, catching up with each other but after we finally connected, they came within a week. I'm moving out of the area but if I were going to be here, I would absolutely use her again.

Although she was booked up Kelly made space to come for a short evaluation, spent a few hours, then came back with an assistant and completed several jobs I had been waiting to get done for a long time. I intend to enlist her help again in the near future.
