DOUG'S APPLIANCE SVC

I called Doug on a wednesday after work to go over the issues with my fridge and he was able to come out to my house after 6pm same day which I felt was fantastic service. He immediately diagnosed the problem with my unit, told me what needed to be done, and how much it would cost. I thought it was reasonable and went with his estimate. Now, the only downside to this visit was that he was supposed to come back on that Friday to fix it. After waiting until 630 for him to arrive we called him to see where he was. He had told us that the part he ordered had not come in yet and he would come to fix on Monday. That was fine we just wish that he had told us ahead of time so we werent sitting around waiting. I would say this was a very minor issue, but wanted to share as this was the only reason his punctuality recieved a and quot;Band quot; and not an and quot;Aand quot;. Once he arrived again on monday he quickly installed the part and our fridge is working perfectly again. I would definately use Doug again and recommend him to others in need of repair.

I like the fact that he contacted me while in route. He was able to fix the dryer even though it is an old model. He fixed everything instead of advising us to purchase a new one to save us some money because we are selling our home.

Doug answered my call early in the morning and arranged to come at a time that was convenient for me within 24 hours of my call. He was even willing to come the same day if I could be available. Doug spent the time to thoroughly investigate the problem (even reading the manual) and repaired the compactor on the spot. He charged $19.95 for travel and $80 for the one hour of service. The part was $16.00 which he had on hand. Thank you.

We were having an issue with our dryer where it was making a lot of noise when it was running. So I called Doug's number and he came over in about an hour. He figured out the problem with the dryer and ordered the new part right away. He was very professional and did a great job explaining the issue and what needed to be done. And the price was not too expensive either. I would absolutely recommend him and will definitely use him again in the future.

They came when they said they would come. They took a reasonable amount of time but it took a little while longer than necessary to finish the job. They were clean and they fixed the problem. They were a little on the pricey side but they got the job done.

He did an excellent job. He cleaned up after himself. He did not leave a big mess or anything.

The price included everything. Doug was very professional. He spent thirty years doing it and he really knows his craft. He can listen to a dishwasher rand tell what the problem is and where it is, that is how he diagnosed the first problem. He was very busy so he wasn't able to get back to me right away, so I had to call him to remind him. He did such fine work that I would definitely use him again. He is so good at what he does that he got busy but I did have to be a little patient too, to be honest. It was totally worth it, because he knows his stuff inside and out, and his prices are very fair too. He will also tell you if something is not worth fixing and he told me he could fix it if I really wanted him to but he told me eventually what would happen if I got it fixed, so he was really good about that. In other words, he is not trying to do a fix and run away, he really cares, he is conscientious about it, and he will tell you if it is not worth it. One other good thing about him was, after he fixed the thirty-year-old dishwasher, it worked fine, but in the last month, it started making a noise so I called him, he came out, and it was something completely different from the first time. The bearings were short now, he said he will not be able to fix that because it is inside the motor, so he would have to replace the motor and because it is so old, there is probably not a motor out there that he can get to swap. He also told me that I can continue to run it and it may last another year, if I can put up with the noise, and it was not going to hurt anyone. That was good and that is what we are doing, because we are having a hard time finding a new one that is even close to the one we have as far as the way it is built, the space inside and things like that. He was cool to tell us that so now we know we have a window before we have to get another one. He usually charges $35 to come out and whatever the cost fee is on the repair is but he only charged us about $20 last time, so he gave us a cut on that, and he said he would look out for a motor but I don't know if that is ever going to happen since it is so old. So he was really good.

Very well! As I stated above, Doug was able to fix our dryer quickly and efficiently. We were very happy to pay the small fee for the part and his time instead of having to replace our 2 year old dryer!

Doug was very professional. There was a snow storm the day I needed service. He said he'd come out, but he had another client ahead of me. That appointment/repair took longer than expected but he called when he was going to be late and gave a new estimate on when he would arrive. He did, he looked at my washing machine. He had the part in stock in his vehicle and he made the repair. It was a very great experience. He charged exactly what he said.

Doug charged us a reasonable price for the job, and got the job done with no drama. I expect to use him again when we next have a need.

He explained everything thoroughly, had the parts on his truck and completed the job in an hour. He left damaged parts with us in the boxes that the new parts came in so you know exactly what he replaced. Very pleased with his responsiveness and quality of work.

The phone call was answered promptly. I explained my dryer stopped running. It's a Samsung, 2 yrs old. Oh and I'm in a condo so it's in a tight space. The tight space prompted a reply that he doesn't service Samsung's. Should have said that when I told him it was a Samsung, instead of when I said it was in a tight space in a condo. I won't call him again. He did offer me and quot;good luck with thatand quot;.

I checked Angie's list and found Doug listed and his place of business was close to our house. He answered my call promptly, scheduled me for one day later and arrived within the two hour time slot he gave me. He had the part in his truck and completed the work in half an hour. I will use him again if some other appliance breaks.

Repairman came on the same day as called - appreciated Spent 15-20 minutes for total stay Thought price was excessive - he charged as the his outline said - $19.95 to come, $40.00 to diagnose, and $30 to repair - $60.00 would have been more than sufficient.Certainly this cookie cutter type charging does not warrant us using him again or recommending him. My first experience with Angie's list was not a positive one.

Our dryer was broken - it would not turn on.I called Doug's number, he answered personally, and scheduled and appointment a day-and-a-half later.Doug arrived on time, successfully diagnosed the problem and fixed it. It ended up being a broken belt, for which Doug had a replacement in his truck. Doug was friendly, professional and experienced. I will call him the next time I need an appliance fixed.

Doug arrived within the promised timeframe, quickly determined the motor and the shocks supporting the drum would need to be replaced and quoted us a price of approximately $350. After looking at the cost of replacing the machine, we called him back and asked his opinion as to whether it was worth making the repairs and if not, what brand(s) he would recommend based on his experiences repairing machines. He answered honestly that he was "on the fence" with regard to our particular situation and would do whatever we wanted to do. He suggested several brands and types of machines we should consider and we opted to replace the machine. Overall we found his cost estimates for repair and diagnosis quite reasonable.
