DOUG'S APPLIANCE SVC

Originally he was to come out on 11/26 the day before Thanksgiving. The weather was predicted to be bad. Later in the day on 11/25 (the day I called him) he asked if he could come out that night. He arrived on time and fixed my machine. I was very impressed with his prompt service. My machine seems to be working just fine now.

They were very good and he came when he said he was going to. He did the diagnostics and seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He had the appropriate part in the truck and was able to fix the job in 30 minutes.

It went well, he was very honest with what he could accomplish. And with the work he did for me.

Doug is a friendly, neat, knowledgeable, organized, appliance repair professional. I have 2 black Labrador retrievers who introduced themselves before I had a chance, but Doug did not seem bothered a bit. We introduced ourselves and I escorted Doug to the faulty fridge. He quickly confirmed his diagnosis and started to look up the part needed on GE's website via smartphone. GE's website said the part is NLA as Doug said (No Longer Available) But, alas Doug said to me I think I may have that part in my vehicle. He went outside and rummaged thru his bins and came back with exact part, still in bag with part number on it(original GE replacement part) and he showed me on GE website the part number and the number on the bag, and the parts bag had a date stamp on it of 5/5/11!! So, long story short. We didn't have to buy a new fridge. Whole repair took 30 minutes and Doug was on his way.

Have an Electrolux washing machine on my second floor. It started to leak from the bottom and into my first floor. Called Doug's and he said he could address it on Friday afternoon. Very positive. When he showed up he wasn’t happy with what he called a small space to work in or the lighting. He needed to disconnect the dryer hose, it has steam cleaning and we could have moved it out of the way for easy access to the washing machine. I even offered to help. He seemed more interested in me leaving the area. He came down to see me in 5 to 10 min and said it was the pump, a hose or the bladder, which pretty much is anything that could leak. He didn’t want to work on it and said no charge, then left. What he didn’t tell me was that he left the machine running and it was leaking water. I took it apart today while I wait for another repair service and found a back panel screw on the floor and others loose. Quick diagnoses or simple repair, he’s your guy. Need a repair, beware.

The experience was great! He got right to his work. Explained that I should not wash a bad bath mat in the washer as the backing was falling apart. Yup...my fault. He was great to talk to and and will certainly contact him again for any other issues. Price was acceptable (as stated on his web site) as I was not sure what to do and that I am sure that he would have told me if the machine was too gone to be fixed.

If more people behaved like Doug, the world would be a better place. I would recommend him without hesitation. He came when he said he would, charged what he said he would, and fixed the problem.

Although he showed up outside of the 2 hour window, he called when he was on the way saying he was delayed from his last job. Very nice guy and very professional. Took the time to show and explain to me what he was doing and gave some good advice about refrigerators. Would definitely use him again.

This was our 2nd contact with Doug's Appliance Repair. We reached out to him after realizing our Neptune Dryer was no longer spinning. Doug was ready, willing and able to give us SAME DAY SERVICE after contacting him early on a Friday Morning. He gave us a 2 hour window and met it as promised. He was competent, professional and reasonable. He diagnosed the problem immediately and fixed it without a hitch. We would not hesitate to call Doug's again and are totally committed to using his company ONLY for all our appliance repair.

Doug did arrive a little late, but had called to let us know of the delay. He determined that the repair needed was to the electrical connection. Although getting at the problem was difficult, he finished it in a short time. He also advised us of additional plumbing and electrical work we should have done if we replace the dishwasher. He was professional and very competent, and gave us a very reasonable bill.

It was excellent. He was on time. I was really happy with him.

I'm staying with my friend, and his washer agitator stopped working. He didn't know who to call, so I checked Angie's list, and found Doug. My friend called Doug, explained the problem. Doug came out the next day. He said he'd arrive between 12 and 2, and he arrived at 1:30. My friend says: Doug was friendly, professional, and knew what he was doing. He understood the problem immediately and luckily he had the parts he needed on his truck, as he had just used the some of the same parts for a previous job and was concerned whether he had enough left for this repair. He completed the job in 15 minutes My friend gave Doug a and quot;Band quot; on price, but indicated that he wasn't familiar with pricing for jobs like this, and to him it seemed like a lot for 15 minutes. I explained that it seemed reasonable to me, considering that part of what he was paying for was the experience that Doug had, to immediately understand and recognize the issue, and do a proper fix the first time. My friend agreed with that point. My friend is a tough person to impress, so the fact that his ratings for Doug were A's and B's, does say something very positive for Doug. So I'm more likely to use and recommend Doug in the future as well.

Doug was excellent! He came to my house as planned. The repair was not so easy to diagnose. My washing machine was not agitating or spinning, etc. (I cannot stand these NEW machines....they stink) Anyway, Doug spent 2 hours diagnosing my machine; he would not give up. Even though this was his first service call to my house, I could tell right away that he was not going to quit or rip me off. It is his mission in life to fix appliances! LOL, but true! Doug found a really kind of weird wiring breakage that he had not seen before (with a newer model) and fixed it and stabilized it so that it would not happen again. I was very happy with his repair. he is also a very nice person. I would recommend him to anyone in this area.

I called Doug this morning after noticing that the water had not drained out of the dishwasher after running it. He said that he could come between 2 and 4:00 the same day. He called just before 4 to say he was on his way. He found the problem quickly and fixed it. He was clean and neat and professional. Have not actually used the dishwasher yet, but he demonstrated that the water was running through. I think the price was reasonable and would definitely recommend him and call him again it the future.

My gas oven touch pad controls stopped working. So I called Doug's for service. I was aware of the initial upfront charges for travel and diagnostics and felt they were fair. Fortunately at this point in time no repair/replacement was necessary so my expenses for the service was under $65.00. | |Doug was pleasant and prompt. Will call him again if I need to.

Our refrigerator was not getting cold enough. We noticed the milk and orange juice were not really cold so we put a thermometer in to check the temperature and it was only 50 degrees. This was a couple of days before Thanksgiving so we decided to wait to call someone the day after Thanksgiving. We called Doug and he promptly answered the phone and said he could come over that night between 5:00-7:00pm. He didn't show up until 7:15pm, but he did call around 7:00 to say he would be late. He had quoted me $19.95 to come to the house and $40.00 to diagnose the problem, plus parts if we needed them. He was very professional and it took him about 3 minutes to diagnose the problem - the light was staying on in the fridge and giving off heat so that was why the fridge would not get cold. He adjusted the door so that it closed properly and the light did go off. He was at our house approximately 15 minutes. We were very happy to have our fridge back to normal and thought Doug did a great job.

He found the problem and fixed it in less than 3 minutes. He removed a stuck piece of plastic that was causing a huge racket. I had first thought I would need a new pump. But thanks to Doug's experience and skill there weren't any new parts required.

He did an excellent job. He came when he said he was going to, and I would definitely use that again.

Excellent -repair service came out within the hour (even though it was not an emergency) on early Friday evening and replaced the belt. The part (belt) only cost $15, but I could not have replaced it myself.

Answered call quickly, came out the next day. He was on time and got the job done quickly....stupid baby sock got jammed in the wash machine motor.

He answered my first call right away and set up an appointment for the next day. He scheduled a two hour window from 3-5. I called at 4 to be sure he was still coming and he said he would be late. He showed up at 5:30. He figured out what was wrong with my fridge and had the replacement part on hand in his truck. Figuring out the problem and replacing the thermostat took about half an hour and cost around $150. I would use him again. The only downside was being late.

I called for repair of a dishwasher and Doug was at the house in 2 hours. He was prompt, worked efficiently and kept the work area clean. Doug finished the work on the dishwasher, and I asked if he had time to look at a 50 year old oven which stopped working a month ago. With in ten minutes he knew what the issue was and was able to restore the oven to working condition. Total time for repair about 1 hour.

I called late in the afternoon, and he promised to come the next day. He told me he would be there before 2, and he was. He had the part. He was calm, professional, and solved the problem. He also had suggestions about how to prevent a recurrence of the problem.

Doug's has repaired all of our appliances for years. He is always punctual, cordial, works quickly and cleans up after himself. He has always been honest about the practicality of repairing an appliance or replacing it.

Our 2 year old washer machine just stopped working at various points during it's cycle. Doug came over almost immediately after my call and started the diagnostics. It was repaired in a little over 40 minutes, and has been working fine ever since. I really appreciated his quick response and expertise. As you can proabably tell by his outsanding report card, I would deffinetly call him again for future problems, and would be glad to refer him to a friend.
