Description of Work: A tree on the border with my neighbor was a nuisance, dropping sticky seed pods several times a year that clogged gutters and made walking dangerous. We had several recommendations from neighbors, and got quotes from Sandweiss and another local tree service. Sandweiss came in much less than the other company so we went with them. They came on time and finished removing the offending parts of the tree in short time, and cleaned up afterwards. My only gripe is that they forgot to trim a smaller weed tree that also needed trimming. But the job they did in general was very good, and I'd certainly use them again.

Description of Work: Cut down a tree. They worked efficiently and carefully around telephone lines and other obstacles.

Description of Work: They cut down two trees - both of which could have damaged our home and landscaping if not brought down carefully. The arborist that assessed our job was very experienced and accurately described how it would be done. The crew that arrived was most professional and did exactly what was planned. Not only was there no collateral damage but they cleaned up entire work area of all traces of debris and even fall leaves. Exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend their services.

Description of Work: The arborist came to look at our tree in July and told us that they would be out to trim the tree in August. When discussing scheduling the work, the receptionist never gave us a date but instead said it would be based on the weather and that they would call the day before they came to do the work but that they would definitely get it done in August. We patiently waited but no one ever called us. At the end of August, we called them back and asked to be put on the schedule at which point they finally gave us a date for the work. | |They trimmed the tree more than discussed as we asked that tree be left on the full looking side and really just wanted it trimmed back away from the houses. Now the tree is rather sparse looking except for the very top. They failed to remove branches we specifically asked to have removed from over our phone and power lines. Also, they were supposed to install three cables in the tree but only installed two of them. Finally, we requested that they perform deep root fertilization, which they did not do. |We contacted them to discuss these issues and a few weeks later they came to do the fertilization but did not remove the branches that were over the lines or install the third cable. When asked why they cut the tree in he manner they did we were told that it is the way sugar maples should be trimmed. We wish they had informed us that this was their plan all along so we could have discussed it in more detail with them. We are slowly getting used to the look of the tree since there is nothing we can do but morn the loss of our beautiful, full looking tree. Thank goodness for pictures. |Keep in mind that the arborist who does the consultation does not come out with the guys who do the work and even if you tell the workers what you want, they are going to do whatever they please anyway. It seemed like what we discussed with the arborist was not communicated to the workers. Additionally, their estimate was short on specifics regarding the work to be done (it listed "trim tree, three cables, deep root fertilization, and removal of debris), so insist that they detail exactly how much they plan to trim off the tree and where the cables are going to go so you and the company have a clear understanding of the work to be accomplished. |Although they were nice enough to work with, we are not sure that we would hire them again unless was something straight forward like a tree removal.

Description of Work: two large and one medium tree fell on my picnic table, fence and lounge chair they came and went in one day leaving my yard spotless cut up firewood in nice sizes and stacked neatly have had before and will likely have again very satisfied with their work and fees

Description of Work: Removed two old large pine tree that were leaning toward our house. |They also trimmed old branches and needed TLC for my old large maple |tree in the back yard. The Arborist also recommended a fertilizer |for the tree to be instilled in the Fall, which was agreed to.

Description of Work: my Ash tree had one stump with four trees coming out of it. It was dead probably from disease. The trees were 3-4 stories high. The estimate was from a very pleasant and knowledgeable man. The owner and his team were efficient in the removal. They really worked as a team. All debris was removed. |

Description of Work: I have been using Ben Sandweiss for over 15 years to feed, prune, and maintain our trees and shrubs. I will never use anyone else. His crew, particularly Al, are all that I would wish for in a tree service. They are extremely knowledgable, careful, leave my property in better shape than when they arrived and have over the years, become folks I look forward to greeting.

Description of Work: I called Sandweiss in the spring and talked to Ben ( the owner) to ask him to come out and give me an estimate to prune 3 trees. We arranged for him to come while I was out. Weeks passed and I heard nothing, I called and explained I had not received the estimate to be told by the person on the phone (a woman) that she had the estimate in front of her and was "just mailing it out"..What a coincidence! I got the estimate next day and it had details of completely cutting the 3 trees down and grinding the stumps!!!. Needless to say we didn't bother calling back. We ended up doing some of the pruning ourselves as we did not trust Sandweiss to do the work required.
