Description of Work: This occurred sometime in 2013. I couldn't figure out why the furnace wasn't working. the technitian convinced me it was due to some expensive part her had to use. After installing it and realizing the problem did not go away he basically bent one of the metal values and the noise stopped. Unprofessional servicemen, and really did;t know what was wrong with the equipment. Prices were good but you get what you pay for

Description of Work: We had them install a Mitsubishi ductless heating & cooling system. Homestead arrived on time and were very professional. They took care not to track dirk through the house and covered carpets with drop cloths. They ask how we would like the pipe run though the basement so I knew what to expect before they started. The guys seemed knowledgeable in the system we had installed. I would use them again in the future.

Description of Work: A cleaning and check of my gas furnace was scheduled for 2 pm. The technician showed up at 3 pm with no apology or even acknowledgement that he was late. When he began checking the furnace, I asked him if he would be bringing in a vacuum to clean it. He said that a vacuum would damage the furnace, but that he would bring one in if I wished, so of course I said no. The technician began to poke around the furnace without explaining what he was checking. I'm always interested in what repair people are doing, since learning how my house "works" is an ongoing process for me. As the appointment progressed, he did offer some information. He was helpful in reminding me about the need to change the humidifier filter annually, and he demonstrated how to do this, as well as writing down the part number, so that I could order replacements online. He also advised me of the need to have the air conditioner unit cleaned in the spring. I asked the serviceman if he would get my gas fireplace pilot lit, since I had been unable to do so for some time. He found that little stones were wedged behind the pilot ignition button, so it could not be pushed all the way in. This additional service cost $69 plus tax, which seemed high to me, since the process had taken only a couple of minutes. It may be that I am out of touch with the cost of this type of service.

Description of Work: The furnace inspection was thorough. They spoke with me about what to watch for in my (aged) furnace, left a list of items likely needing replacement in the future along with an estimate for planning. No hard sell, and they took time to educate me on differences in furnace design/requirements today vs. when the furnace was new. I would use them again.

Description of Work: Replaced well pump, wiring, piping and pressure tank. All done in one day with no problems. George Shaw, the owner, was the first of four water system companies to tell me how my rather unique system worked before I had to tell them after doing a lot of research. The installation of the new system was done by Justin, who was also very knowledgeable.

Description of Work: I had looked up this company for my son, who had a furnace issue. Unfortunately, he didn't chose to hire this company because his father-in-law had a friend who was able to use my son as his apprentice and was able to keep the costs well below what he may have paid an outside professional. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but I always use Angie's List to look for reputable people and haven't been disappointed yet. Thank you.
