This was a big job - a lot of trim needed to be replaced, some of which was in high and difficult to reach places on house. Joe worked quickly and replacement trim looks clean and straight. November job with impending weather change added pressure to timetable- Joe got it done. I would hire Joe again for trim replacement.

Joe Sr. came and did a very thorough job estimate. Joe Jr. did the work along with a plumbing contractor. He explained all that was being done and whenever new issues showed up, as they do when you pull down walls and find strange things, he explained what needed to be done. The work was done on schedule. The quality of the work appears to be top notch. I am very pleased and won't hesitate to use Joe T. Carty again.

Joe was very responsive came out same day for a work. The work took 3 weeks as they noted it would. Joe Jr. did an excellent job, cleaned up every day. His workmanship was great. Love our new room.

Total professional. Initial call was responded to in a timely manner. Proposal was delivered on date that it was promised. Work was done in a professional manner with a daily cleanup. Results were completed as expected. Can't comment on the price because the two other recommended contractors never came through with proposals so I have no comparisons but seemed reasonable based on Internet research.

We began to investigate remodeling of our unfinished basement in March, 2015. Over the course of the next 60 days, we evaluated proposals from 4 different contractors. All were substantially the same in terms of content, but the prices ranged pretty dramatically. We had been particularly impressed with Joe Carty and son's proposal, including drawings, the detail of his plan and his professionalism, so we chose Joe & son for our job. We do not regret it at all!. They delivered exactly the way they said they would. They paid attention to the details and were dedicated to our project (others that we've worked with in the past tried to balance many jobs at the same time). They delivered a quality job on time and on budget. They were extremely polite and patient (answered all of our questions and were agreeable to some suggestions), made some modifications along the way that we requested and finished our project exactly the way we envisioned it. The quality is outstanding and we are delighted with how the job came out. We wish that we had hired Joe & son for jobs that we had done in the past and we will definitely hire them again in the future.

The Carty's are trustworthy, dependable and very professional contractors who do high-quality work. When they need subs (electrical, plumbing etc. ) they choose experienced subs with whom they have worked with before so the work goes very smoothly. Joe Sr does an excellent job planning and administering the project. Joe Jr is a highly skilled craftsmen with in amazing array of skills and talents. They did the job on time and on budget. They made some very helpful suggestions and were very good at solving the little problems that came up.They cleaned up really well at the end of each day and made sure they locked up on the days we asked them to. They put up temporary plastic walls for dust control. They even negatively pressurized the work area so no dust could escape. We had zero problems with any dust in the house. I would highly recommend Joseph T Carty as a contractor and we will definitely be using them again in the future

Joe was efficient and detailed and the job went smoothly. Andy was our main carpenter/craftsman on site and did a wonderful job. The subs for tile, plumbing and electrical were professional and arrived when scheduled. We are very happy with the results and would highly recommend Joe.

The only reason we did not use Joe's services was because we had a highly recommended with lower price contractor competing with him for the job. But overall through the estimate and proposal for the project Joe was extreamly professional, punctual and had great ideas and technology to support him. Again, the only reason we did not use him was the competing price of the competing contractor that a friend had recommended. If we did not have that Joe would have been our pick. Don't think for a minute that we did not call several contractors and compared he was by far one of the most professional we met.

I called the company because i needed a tile floor laid in my kitchen quickly. they were able to fit me in between jobs and got the work done within a couple days. It was a good job well done however it was very expensive compared to other quotes but i needed the work done quickly because of another job that was waiting for the floor to be laid.

Very professional team - father and son. Prompt estimate on the renovation costs. Very timely. They set a start date and schedule for the work and stuck to it! Quality workmanship. Kept me informed about the project and were open to questions/modifications based on the surprises you find when you work on an old house.

Last winter, me and my wife decided to remodel our entire condo. Never having this done before, we initially hired the wrong contractor and got stuck with him for 2 months where he basically did not do anything and we ended up firing him. After that we got some more contractors to come in and quote us on the unfinished project - this is when we found Joe Jr. It's a great family business where Joe Sr. handles all the office work and Jr. does the work. Me and my wife both worked full time and had no issue handing over the keys to Joe for him to come in and work on daily basis. He's extremely punctual and texted me if he was running few minutes late coming from Danbury to Stamford. Also, at the end of the day he would leave detailed notes regarding his concerns/questions/suggestions he had for us to review. He really only disturbed us at work if something needed immediate attention. Initially we had only contracted with Joe for the bathroom and after seeing how fast and efficient he was we decided to do our kitchen, replace all the doors, door handles, door framing, shelves in the closets, baseboards and more. We also replaced our hardwood floors and upgraded our electrical (with other contractors) which required him to work around/with them and also come back after few weeks to finish the kitchen. Joe is an extremely skilled carpenter, as well. We have one of those ugly old heating units in our condo where you can't do anything to make it look good. He created an entire casing around the unit and made a custom aluminum grill for it on the top with piano hinges. It now looks like it?s part of the wall. We had no idea how it was going to turn out when he initially sketched out his idea on a piece of napkin and I was like sure let?s do it. We are glad we did it - LOOKS AMAZING! They take pride in their work and will let you know if they can't do the job. I had asked Joe to do the hardwood floors and he said that its best for me to get someone else to do it as it wouldn't be cost effective with him (how many contractors say no to a job?). I wouldn't hesitate even a bit hiring the Carty team again!

Joe Carty did an amazing job! Our new kitchen is perfect, exactly how we wanted it and he was very punctual and stuck to all the timeframes and budgets. He kept the house clean and was very careful with our house and contents. Everything was done is a very perfessional manor. I would highly recommend him! He worked alone and did all the work himself (except for the electrical and plumbing), so you don't have various and random people coming in and out of your house during the project. When any subcontractor was here, Joe was also here to supervise every step of the way.

All went so smoothly. The timing estimates were on the mark, he was here every day he said he would be and on time! Everything was done perfectly and even better than expected. As soon as he finished one bathroom, he was on to the next, or if he had to wait for something we had ordered that was late, he would start working in the other bathroom - never idle! Throughout the entire process, he cleaned up after every day. We were not at all inconvenienced. This was the second time we have used Joe Carty. The first time was shortly after we moved into our home, about 9 years ago, when he remodeled our complete kitchen. We are so happy with our kitchen, and still receive compliments! I would recommend Joe Carty without hesitation. He is extremely reasonable, fair, honest., hard working, on time. Wonderful!

Perhaps the greatest test of a contractor/carpenter is when things do not go as planned, and with renovation, that can always happen. During work on two separate large projects, #1 - build out and renovation of master bedroom and master bath and #2 - remodel of our kitchen, Joe Carty encountered problems that to some less skilled carpenters would have derailed the project - and our relationship. Instead, Joe was able to find creative solutions to unexpected roadblocks, thereby saving us money and time - and mostly, stress. Both Joe's take pride in their work, are masters at their trade and are completely honest and trustworthy.

He is a perfectionist! The father and son are both incredible. They are starting to redo a new deck at my home. They were on time, polite, professional and always call me back. They have great ideas and they are extremely knowledgeable. They have great customer communication and are very neat.

We have been completely satisfied with all the work Joe has done. From start to finish each experience has been wonderful with no surprises along the way. In addition to remodeling, etc. they also created a custom pantry for our kitchen, and made other repairs that needed completion as well. When they are in your house, it's minimally invasive and they clean up after each day. We can't say enough positive things about Joe Carty.

We live in New York City so our house in Connecticut is a second home. Joe Carty is someone that we trust without hesitation to work at our home when we are not there. Over the past 30 years he is someone we could count on to supervise the building of a large master bedroom and bath to taking care of small roof and siding repairs. I would hope that all homeowners have someone like to Joe to call no matter how large or small the job.

The restoration work that Joe performed in 2012 was excellent. He started the project on the date he committed to and stayed with it until it was complete. Joe replaced trim where necessary and repaired it where it was possible. The repairs helped keep down the cost of the project. Also, when replacing the broken tiles in one bathroom he discovered that the marble shower was leaking. He found a good solution to the leaking shower that didn't require re-building the shower, which again saved some money for us. Overall we were very happy with the professional attitude he showed, the commitment to doing a really good job and his sensitivity to costs. The earlier basement finishing project showed an equally strong attention to quality and detail. Also, the sub-contractors he used were cost effective, professional and performed the work in a timely manner. We are happy with both projects and would use Joe again.
